Terra Horticultural Service

We contacted Landscapes by Terra to have someone come out to give us an estimate to sod our backyard. Note that we had multiple companies in the Columbus area come out to give us a quote. Not only did our technician with Landscapes by Terra take weeks to come out to survey our backyard, but it took a month to get our quote. We had to follow up three times to even get the quote, a month after our consultation.

This was both incredibly frustrating and did not inspire confidence. Now for the kicker, the quote was for double the price that we were quoted by other sod installers. We were quoted roughly $5 per square foot, which is at least double, but closer to triple, what other installers quoted us for the same type of sod. Not to worry though, they also let us know that it would be about $2.50 a square foot (roughly $5,000-$6,000) for grass seed.

You would think we were trying to get grass to grow on our driveway for that type of markup. Unless you are interested in wasting a month of your life to (if you're lucky!) receive a quote that is double the cost of any other companies in the area for sod installation or grass growing services, I would skip this company entirely.

Have used their snow removal services for a number of years. They are always dependable and thorough in their work. They often arrive in the wee morning hours following a snowfall event and by the time I leave in the morning the driveway and walkways are magically clear of snow.

We had a complete tear out/rebuild of our backyard patio. Landscapes by Terra was fantastic to work with in every way. The designer, David, did a great job coming up with our dream patio design. He worked with us to get it to exactly what we dreamed. The build crew was so hard-working. Jon, the crew leader, was meticulous about every stone being laid correctly.

He made sure everything was done right. Bryan, the production manager, was extremely responsive to any questions we had. He checked on the building progress several times a week to make sure things were on track. Even after the project was completed, I needed help on winterizing the water feature. I had sent an email to Bryan asking if someone could answer a question and 10 minutes later, Jon was at my door!

You cannot beat that kind of service. It did take a few months to get on the production schedule, but it is well worth the wait! We could not be happier with the end result. I will definitely be using Landscapes by Terra in the future for all of my landscaping needs.

Exceptional Work by a great team of professionals. Our patio project was better than we expected. I highly recommend the Landscapes by Terra team for top quality patio work. We are bringing them back for some smaller landscaping projects as well. This was a great experience from the design and detailed plan to the final completion of the project.

We had the Terra team design and build our new koi pond, and we are impressed! It's medium sized, located adjacent to our patio, and by intent has an "understated, natural feel". We like that they were well-organized and purposeful in the planning and execution of the work. But also, we really liked that they were receptive and accommodating to a number of creative design changes we made during the construction effort (while essentially maintaining our schedule and scope).

In particular, we were very pleased with the construction team--they were thoughtful, reliable, creative, patient, and hard workers all day long! We applaud them, and thumbs up! The price seemed a bit high but given the current state of affairs was maybe consistent with other construction activities.

Critical: Professionalism, Responsiveness Very rude, seems as though they only except a "certain " type of customer. That's fine, I'll keep my money.

In my opinion Tara landscape acted unprofessionally. I was working with their scheduling department for approximately three to four weeks. I kept calling to try to make an appointment. I kept hearing that someone would call or email me. I received an email about scheduling an appointment. I replied immediately letting them know the best time for me to meet.

I never received any correspondence back. Finally, I was called and told they couldn't schedule me this year. Now, it is already late in the season and many of the other landscaping services are already booked.

We obtained 4 quotes for our back patio in the Fall of 2020. Terra's quote was at least twice as much as all other quotes. When the Terra representative was at our house we asked for a general estimate before paying the $200 (or $250 I can't remember) "design fee." The verbal estimate came around what we expected so we went forward with the formal quote and "design." (I put design in quotations because we told them what we wanted, they didn't design anything.) When the quote and design was finished, the cost had doubled from the verbal estimate.

We asked for our money back since we felt like we were mislead, but Terra refused. They said the estimate they gave excluded aspects of the job. Seems shady that they were so much more than everyone else and they are the only one asking for a fee to "design" and give an official quote. Our patio is done now and it looks amazing- the other company used the same materials Terra quoted us. I can't imagine Terra being able to do it any better.

We've worked with Landscapes by Terra on a few backyard projects over the last several months and we've been so happy with the results. Jesse, our primary contact, has been easy and great to work with; really responsive and accommodating when we've had special requests. Highly recommend!

I have been a Landscapes by Terra customer for over 10 years. The work done by Landscapes by Terra is excellent. The planning is thoughtful and all of my requests and/or changes were included in the planning document. Suggestions for plantings were creative and based on the growing conditions at my location. Planning took into account future growth of each plant and the amount of maintenance that would be needed. The work crew was knowledgeable, hardworking and courteous. I never use any other company - they're the best!

Landscapes by Terra did a great job with our patio beginning with the design all the way through installation. They completed the project in less time than they thought it would take. The crew was there promptly every day and kept us informed of the process. They cleaned up each day before leaving and made sure everything was done as promised. You could tell that they took pride in their work which shows in the finished product. We were very happy with how everything turned out.
