The Secret Garden is an award-winning, family-owned landscape contractor based in Mequon, WI. Since we were founded in 1994 by Mike and Cindy Bohlen, our mission has been to enhance our client's emotional and physical living environments by providing high-quality landscape design, installation, and maintenance services.
We'll meet with you to learn about your vision and needs for your outdoor space as well as your design preferences. Then, we'll draw upon our wealth of design experience to develop several design schemes that align with our vision. Our clients tell us they love when we challenge them to think outside the box!

Just an incredible experience from The Secret Garden for our hardscape project this year. Recommended by someone at a local lawn care supply store as "one of the best in town" we had to give them a try. Mike (the owner) had a professional attitude and was very honest about what could and couldn't be done with some challenging aspects of the project.
I appreciated this approach from the onset. He also has rare "vision" about what would work and look best and what the options are based upon his decades of experience in the business. The project manager (Duane) and his team got the majority of the large project done quickly to minimize disturbance. Our neighbors appreciated it! The challenges that the project presented were addressed and overcome with no issue and I felt like I was in great hands the entire time.
When the final bill came there were even discounts for work that didn't need to be done! You might say this should be expected but I know that this doesn't always happen in this space and others. This says it all. Its an honest company doing honest, great work at a fair price to the client. This is all why they are among the "best in town" in a very crowded field. The Secret is out! A few years ago we attended an outdoor party at a friend's house and couldn't help but admire their beautiful patio and backyard. When we asked who did the work they said "The Secret Garden". Early this summer we decided our 20 year old patio was in need of a overhaul. We met with several companies, but Mike from Secret Garden wanted to do more than just replace what we had - he drew up plans for creating a much more beautiful and creative space than we could have imagined.
We fell in love with Mike's vision and so went ahead with the project. Kevin, Antonio, and the rest of the crew did an outstanding job. They were very particular and everything went according to plan. Mike was always prompt when meeting with us and came by to inspect the crew's work every day. The project was completed on time and.it's absolutely gorgeous!
Not surprisingly, we've been spending a lot more time outside now. We were so pleased with the patio that we decided to replace our front walk, and again, the work was perfect. Mike and his crew are the best! I'd recommend them in a heartbeat for any landscape projects you may be dreaming of.

Working with the Secret Garden in Mequon has been a great experience over the years. Several large customized landscape and hardscape projects as well as annual bed maintenance and holiday lighting have produced great curb appeal and enjoyment for me and my family. The people servicing my property are very knowledgeable, professional and 'do it right the first time'. I highly recommend the Secret Garden for any outdoor project.
