To complement a home renovation, we hired Kate and the Offshoots team to revamp our landscape. They were fantastic and enthusiastic to work with! We couldn't be more pleased with the results. Kate was extremely thoughtful throughout design process and really understood what we were looking for resulting in a very elegant finish including a small spice garden and some blueberry bushes!

Kate helped us to remodel our backyard. Her plan was elegant and she executed it with great attention to detail. She helped us to maximize the space, and to use it in new ways. She connected us with a very capable contractor for the building of a new wall and new deck. She included us throughout the design process and was always very responsive to our questions and concerns. I would highly recommend Offshoots to anyone looking to beautify, re-imagine and enliven their outdoor spaces.

Kate and team are fantastic to work with. They were able to transform a small, urban, north-facing backyard into a functional, beautiful, and lush space for a family with small children. The yard now is now a green oasis in the city thanks to the careful selection of plants and flowers and thoughtful detailing!

They are focused on restoring natural systems and remediating the land while providing great outdoor spaces for all types of users.

I've worked with Offshoots and Kate Kennen in a personal and professional setting, and am very pleased with the results. At my house, Offshoots re-designed and re-graded a weed-filled side yard into an attractive and useable space. At work, Offshoots was the landscape architect for new affordable homes that my organization owns. In both scenarios Kate and her firm had a great instinct for balancing vision and cost, listening to me and my wife (or co-workers, depending on the setting), and seeing through a quality execution. Bonus for home design: Offshoots is also capable of undertaking grading and softscape installation on its own. It's rare to find a high-design firm that's also able to install its own design.

Offshoots created a beautiful landscape at my business that is low maintenance and uses little water. We are very happy with the results. It is not often that you find a landscape business run by someone with a degree from Harvard and Cornell. Great experience with both Kate who did the design work and Joe who managed the installation.
