Pansies for fall 2011 we have alot of NEW and interesting colors this year even if you dont plant pansies you should give it a try pansies have come a long way over the last few years and are much easier to grow with alot of bold colors.
Gunters Greenhouse offers specials on our plants at different times during the growing season check back freqently as the specials page can change on a weekly basis, so take advantage of our overstock and come grow with us. Remember spend a little more time preparing, use good soil, fertilize regularly and use high quality plants or grass and you will have great success.
Spring is a great time to plant flowers, bulbs, perennials, vegetables, shrubs and trees because of the changing of seasons, its not to hot and its not to cold it is just right. When you plant in the spring plants do not stress as bad because of cool nights and they do not require as much water, during this mild time your plants are able to root in and become established so when the weather turns hotter they can withstand that high heat and still do not require as much water.Most plant losses occur from poor quality plants and roots and over watering.
Perennials are best described as plants that live for more than one year. Most herbaceous perennials die back to the ground each year and return from the crown or roots the next year, how ever some perennials are evergreen living right thru the winter. Most perennials only flower for 4-6 weeks with some exceptions and perennials have different bloom times spring, summer and fall so when selecting perennials try to select perennials that bloom at different times so you will have continuous color all season long, you can also mix in annuals to get more color all season.

Always has a great selection of house plants ranging from common to super rare. all of the staff i've interacted with has been super friendly and enthusiastic about whatever plant i'm purchasing. they also have great soil components and planters at a reasonable price. the cats living on the grounds are also super cute and sweet!

This is my favorite local greenhouse. Great plant selection at reasonable prices, knowledgeable people who are willing to spend time talking plants, and bonus greenhouse cats. Pumpkin is my favorite and I try to give her pets every time I go. My sister drives up from Georgia to visit me and this is always the first place she wants to go. We go for the tropicals but there are also perennials/annuals, food plants, and plant accessories like soil, amendments, pots and pest control.

This is by far one of my favorite if not favorite places to go for plants. The collection is unbeatable. Always look forward to seeing the rare plants on Instagram to know what to look for on Saturday. Most greenhouses are over priced, don't know there plants, or just have basic common ones found in your local Lowe's or home Depot. But Gunters is way above anything else and will continue to keep looking and of course buying from them.

I've never owned house plants before until recently when my daughter gave me a prayer plant (lemon lime maranta) for my birthday. I have been obsessed with wanting to add more house plants since. I live in the brier creek area and I googled 'nursery near me' and Gunters popped up being 3 miles away from me. Yay! Hopped in my car and I was there in less than 10 minutes.
They had a good selection of house plants that were on my list to get. I bought a bonnie curly variegated spider plant, peperomia ruby cascade, a pilea, and a tiger fern. I was like a kid in a candy store. Lol. The young girl at the front counter was sweet, friendly, and very helpful. A woman whom I think might be the owner was really nice and friendly too.
Found out while chatting with the girl at the counter that the woman was her mom. Oh and there was a beautiful cat near the counter too. I love cats! I'm definitely going back. They had a great selection of plants in the greenhouse and I already have my eye on a few plants I want to get next. I really liked the vibe and atmosphere at this place. I highly recommend Gunters Greenhouse!

Just moved to NC and being someone that's always loved plants, I've been checking out greenhouses all over. Gunter's had so many wishlist plants and has become my first choice for houseplants- many rare varieties, all very healthy, and the owners are very friendly and quick to answer questions on care and varieties. Loved my first trip to Gunter's today, but certainly not my last.

THE most magnificent Ruby and Tineke Ficus Elasticas available anywhere. I have searched every nursery in the triangle for healthy Ruby Elasticas and I'm so glad I found Gunter's. They grow them at the nursery which I imagine makes the difference. The person I spoke to was kind and knowledgeable. They have lots of exciting plants, it was hard to leave with just one. Gunter's Greenhouse is awesome! Thank you!

It was an amazing experience there! I felt at home and comfortable. They have a great selection even though I really wanted Elephant Ears! Lol! They had them, they just weren't ready yet. The customer service was great and the staff was knowledgeable. They answered every single question I had and the owner even chatted with me about some plants that I'm not having success with. I appreciate this place sooo much and I will definitely be returning!

Such a great selection! I went to two other garden centers that morning and was disappointed in what they had. Gunter's had everything I was looking for and more, and their prices were very reasonable! The plants all looked healthy, it was hard to choose! Their pot selection is also pretty good and I loved the variety of indoor and outdoor plants / flowers. Definitely will be going here from now on for all my plant needs
