Desert Designer

We hired Desert Designer based on a very favorable recommendation from our family. We were not disappointed. They completed a major makeover of our front and back yards and did an excellent job. We were always kept aware of the plans and they even had some in process recommendations that were great! I highly recommend them and will use them again.

This is the third time I have used Desert Designer in the 12 years I have lived at my residence. Tom's crews are professional, accommodating and all have an eye for detail. The work is absolutely amazing! My back and side yards are an oasis in this desert. Tom initially designed my front and back yard's landscaping and installed both. About five years ago I added a side porch fireplace and pavers over the top and beyond the side porch.

Quite recently I had them re-irrigate my entire back yard and added fresh granite. I love my back yard! Desert Designer has made this a place for me to relax and entertain. So happy with the work they have done. It is simply quality work!

This is by far the best contractor we have ever worked with. Complete backyard remodel and pool renovation. Quality work, professional dealings with the owner, Rob Plowright. Tom and Desert Designer are awesome, creative and professional, but execution is everything and he delivers! Over 10 years ago our builder used him for the front yard and the curb appeal is one of the reason we ended up buying the home and then hired Tom to design and complete our backyard at the time, which we have loved. 10 years later we were ready for some upgrades and a refresh and used him again, he did not disappoint. Products and technology he uses today for lighting and irrigation are sweet, individual bulbs that you can change color with an app is pretty cool.

Shout out to Tom's team including Pepe and his skilled tradesman that worked on our project-they are talented.one of the masons was telling me he and his son in law worked on our original yard a decade ago and how great Tom was to work for, I believe history in that business makes all the difference. We used this company for an extensive and expensive backyard renovation. This included a water feature and an adjoining wall. The water feature developed problems. I asked them to help. It was out of warranty and they only offered a random fountain company as a possible source to repair. Worse, the design was faulty and now I have a large plumbing leak of some sort that is leaking into the flagstone and causing huge discoloration, but more importantly destroying the flagstone and the grout.

I reached out again.acknowledging it is out of warranty. All I want is someone to come out, tear up the work they did, so they can figure out what they did wrong and fix it, and their response" I do not have a repairman to refer you to". Of course my direct rep is no longer with the company. I would not use them again for anything.

I can not say enough good things about our experience with Desert Designer. Our guy Corey Sell has been an absolute rock star and our back yard is beautiful! They have gone above and beyond to make sure that we are completely satisfied with every aspect of our backyard even to the point that they completely re tiled our built in BBQ after I was not happy with the way the grout turned out!

They didnt even bat an eye, they just came out and fixed it because the customer wasn't happy. Even today, almost a year after the job was completed If I call them with a warranty issue they dont give me a hassle, they just send the crew out to come fix it. If you value quality workmanship and excellent customer service, these are the guys you want to hire!

Design is right in the name and that's what sets Rob and his team apart. They came up with a significantly better design than we could have imagined and much better than the other companies we tried to work with. You have to be diligent to review work and ask for little fixes, but no more than with any other good contractor. They were responsive in fixing everything to my satisfaction with an exceptional final product. UPDATE: Had a small leak develop somehow. Rob and his team came out and fixed everything under warranty as promised at the onset. You can trust Rob from the beginning all the way past completion! And we're still loving the wonderful new backyard :

Hired Rob in early summer and his design and attention to detail was clear from day one. He completely remodeled our patio, driveway and landscaping. Rob stayed on budget and his design added things we didn't even consider including a very cool gas fireplace. Rob also stayed in budget to what he quoted and completed the job in the time stated. He also helped with small post demo follow ups I had. Thanks Rob!

This is the 3rd time I've hired Desert Designer to do a project for me (2 at previously owned homes). We completed a new build in May 2017 in Buckeye on bit of a hillside. I gave our designer, Cory, our inspirations for a zen backyard. It isn't a large yard and I wanted to create a calm relaxing space. Additionally, I wanted part of the yard to serve as a pollinator area for bees and butterflies. Cory came up with a fantastic solution.

We went back and forth on a few of the details and he worked within our budget. The finished project is just as amazing as our prior projects. Thank you so much! Now, time to think about some work on the front yard.
