Services
NW Bloom is located in Woodinville, WA and has been specializing in creating environmentally-sound landscapes in the greater Seattle area since 2000. We are proud to be leaders and educators in ecological landscaping who can offer viable alternatives to conventional landscape practices. As one of the first landscape companies to never use pesticides, we are grateful to see the public become more environmentally conscious and supportive of regenerative land-based practices. We practice sustainability as a way of life; being environmentally conscious is just common sense.
If you don't really know where to start - don't worry, that is very common. We often begin our client relationships with a simple conversation on the phone. At this time the client can get familiar with our process and ask questions that pertain to their project in order to make sure we are a good fit.
Once we have design details to work from, we start the build and installation phase. Our construction crew pays careful attention to detail with pride in their work from the start of the project to the final touches. We build a variety of garden elements from entertainment or living spaces and even outdoor games like chess or bocce courts.
Whether you are looking for a full CAD plan or simple sketches to convey ideas, we can help you. Our design service is based on a thorough process which takes the client's wants, needs, style and budgetary concerns into consideration in order to create a beautiful and functional landscape - with ecological and permaculture principles.

Jessi is an honest and talented designer that takes great care to represent natural processes to her clients and to educate them on sustainable practices, recommending native planting and showing us all how to work with the earth - not against her. Kudos to Jessi and her talented crews for all their hard work throughout the Puget Sound.

I had a fantastic experience with NW Bloom. Jessi and her team are highly professional. I am a hands on gardener and wanted to do a lot of the landscaping myself but needed some reassurance on my design. I met with Jessi for a consultation to go over the feasibility of some of my ideas. Jessi was great to work with. After meeting with her, I decided to hire NW Bloom to install a rain garden along with with 2 large rain barrels, collecting the water from almost our entire roof.

During the development of the rain garden, the NW Bloom team even offered to move the excavated soil into my newly constructed raised beds. Both the rain garden and the raised beds have done really well. What was just another patch of lawn is now bursting with life! Plus my rain barrels can water the entire garden throughout the summer! I highly recommend NW Bloom. Jessi and her team have an approach to landscaping that truly respects our environment and its future, while not compromising on beauty and design.

I hired NW Bloom to consult on a landscape design project and again for design installation at the same property several months later. They provided excellent information and solutions to remedy my client's failing cistern on the property. My client and I were so happy with the initial consult with NW Bloom that we contacted them again to do the installation of the project design. Jessi's crew was timely, professional and did an excellent job on the garden renovation.

My client now has a beautiful backyard patio, a functional raingarden and a fabulous place to grow food in her backyard. Their price was fair and in keeping with rates in the Seattle market. I would highly recommend working with NW Bloom.

There is nobody I know that is more knowledgeable about sustainable and organic landscaping than Jessi Bloom and team. Jessi has provided guidance on a number of occasions and the plants I have bought from their Redmond farm have done quite well. I highly recommend their company.

We hired N.W. Bloom EcoLogical Landscapes 10 years ago to help us redesign our yard in Seattle after seeing their work at the NW Flower & Garden Show over several years. We hired them for an overall design for our entire property which included plant and hardscape recommendations. The design was thorough, beautiful and included everything we expected.

While we didn't have the money to hire them for the entire job, they advised us how we could proceed with the job ourselves including understanding what order to do things, which things were more or less critical and etc. We hired them for parts of the job we didn't want to tackle ourselves and sold us some of the things we needed to do the job ourselves.

I can't imagine being able to accomplish what we did without their insights, guidance and services and we often recommend NW Bloom to our friends. Our yard even ended up featured in a magazine as a result a year or two ago. We've subsequently moved to another state and often wish they worked this far away.

Not only is Jessi a consummate professional, she is also highly revered in the permaculture field. I have great esteem for her vision, great envy of the projects she has completed and great longing for a property that she could design someday. You can't go wrong supporting someone with her experience, her grace, and her vision!

After hemming and hawing for years, in 2010, NW Bloom worked with us over several appointments to focus on choices for the garden of our dreams. We wanted a colorful, sustainable, edible landscape, and No. More. Grass. Removing the lawn opened up an entirely luscious new world for everything else on our small lot in West Seattle. Jessi Bloom carefully prepared a conceptual design for us based on a customized questionnaire that made us feel engaged in the creative process - it helped us realize what's possible.

We learned the value of up-cycling our crusty old concrete patio after we demolished it into usable "urbanite" hunks for a customized gabion basket bar and benches for entertaining. The old patio was supplanted with beautiful paver circles that are edged with a carpet of green ground-covers. Several of our downspouts are now directed to four rain-gardens (my favorite is the heart-shaped one!) to infiltrate storm-water and are planted with a variety of vegetation to thrive in varying conditions.

A few years ago, our neighborhood community center held a Seattle Rain Wise event and our house was on the tour to showcase the value of rain-gardens and rain water harvesting (yay, rain barrels!). Jessi educated us in the principles of permaculture, chicken farming, additional hardscaping, and water features that we hope to employ at some point. We are still in touch with Jessi and she helps us with plant identification and other advice to this day - she is a joy to work with. We highly recommend NW Bloom to everyone that wants something special.

Everyone is excited about their new landscape when it first goes in, but here's a review from someone who has lived with their NW Bloom garden for over five years! I engaged NW Bloom to totally overhaul my entire yard- front and back. Working with Jessi was: 1) so much fun and 2) such an incredible educational journey. She listened to what I wanted-- and when I didn't know what I wanted it was like she just intuited it.

The design she came up with took everything -and everyone in our family- into consideration. The NW Bloom crew was fantastic about install. They went above and beyond at every turn. My garden turned out so well that it was featured in the Seattle Times Sunday magazine for the unique way the garden handles stormwater and of course because it was (and is!) simply beautiful.

It has been a joy to tend to my low maintenance garden over the past five years. Each season brings new surprises that I forgot about from the year before and it has matured into such a lush space. I keep in touch with them and they continue to give me the service and guidance that is so hard to find these days. I can't thank NW Bloom enough for having the vision, the experience, the professionalism, and the forethought to know just how to create lasting beauty in my little corner of Ballard.

I talked to atleast 5 other landscapers before I met Jessi. I picked Jessi to do my tiny home backyard project. I was looking for 2 things: (1) advice on plants in my yard, and (2) had one specific area that I needed re-landscaped. We started with us meeting at her house/office to talk about plants and ideas. Then I hired her to give me tips/advice/ideas on my whole yard.

After that she priced out the work to lay a path and plants in one section of my yard. I loved Jessi's approach to the whole project. I like her unassuming, back-to-nature attitude. She gave my tiny home project the kind of importance I'd never hoped to get from the lead designer/landscaper. She's quick with emails, and patient in explaining stuff.

She was on schedule and on budget. Overall great experience. When I save enough money for a water feature, I'm not going to waste my time shopping around for other landscapers, I'm going straight to Jessi.

They did great landscape design and build for a large $50K project. I had them do some smaller projects and those went very well too. Great people.
