Low Maintenance Landscape started business in 2001 as a small local landscape design-build-maintenance company from a single car garage. Our goal was to offer the absolute best quality work, customer service and competitive pricing available. We specialize in offering a different kind of landscape; one that will stand the test of time by using well adapted and native plant material.
Low Maintenance Landscape is a full-service landscape company offering an array of different services for your convenience. Most projects start with a professional landscape design. We can act as your general contractor, performing most of the work by our talented crews. Some specialty items are sub-contracted and wood decks, fences, decorative concrete, green roofs, landscape lighting and ornamental iron welding.
Our landscape projects look good the day they are completed. It is also very important that they still look good many years later. Our projects are designed to be self-sustainable over the long term and fill in gradually with time. We have the kknowledge and talent to know how it will look in the future when designing it today.

Daniel is phenomenal! This landscaping company is exactly what we needed for our small, rocky and heavily-rooted townhome yard. We had a really complex drainage ditch/French drain situation that Low Maintenance handled quickly and we couldn't be happier with the solution they provided. They even went above and beyond and added some mulching around the front of our house, a small area that I had no idea how to handle myself. We will be using Low Maintenance for many more projects in the future. Thanks, guys!

Low Maintenance has landscaped both of the 2 homes we have owned over the past 19 years. The trees, plants, and designs are beautiful and flourish in every season. In addition to creating beautifully cultivated beds they expertly maintain their work. Liz manages the maintenance team with excellence. They diligently work to prepare the landscape for each season, pruning and trimming as needed. Also, each time I have requested a special service, Liz responds promptly and the team arrives and does the extra work. I recommend Low Maintenance Landscape for initial design, planting, and maintenance.

Absolutely stellar customer service! Liz, leader of the maintenance crew, is so personable, fun, and responsive! She always quickly and effectively answers any plant care questions I have. Laura, the landscape designer, is thoroughly knowledgeable and personable, too. Their nursery features high quality plants, and they have the right people to help you out!

Pre Pandemic fall of 2019, a landscape design contract that was paid in full ($700) with zero deliverables for even a basic raingarden design at the 5 month mark. Landscape designer completely flaked out on us when we started asking for a timeline and where they were at in the design process near month 5, announcing they had a family emergency and would work on our contracted design "when they had time".
They literally had nothing to show us at this point. We promptly thanked them for communicating their situation and asked for a refund so we could seek out other services. There were some warning signs along the way we wish we would have heeded. We have receipts. The owner wanted to fix the situation but we were so badly burned by their landscaper we did not want to risk anymore interaction.
We just wanted a refund. Evenso, it took way more effort and back and forth than necessary, including getting credit card company we used (thank goodness!) involved when it was a clear breach of contract. A basic raingarden design should not take 5 months to design. We ended up with literally nothing and were out $250 and 5 months of time. It was quite a struggle to get any refund without threatening claims court.
Just glad we received even a partial type of refund before the pandemic hit. We cannot recommend this company. Edited to respond: In response to owner, I was being gracious posting this review. You are right, I see I should have posted it right away instead of waiting for the worst of this pandemic to pass. No good deed. Potential customers have a right to know our experience.

She vaguely stated she had a "family emergency" and would work on our plan "as time allowed". This text was received the middle of February the contract began in October. The lying and gaslighting never ends with this company but I digress.
I could not believe any company would not know enough of the situation to have this landscaper's work covered. How would you feel as a customer having this dropped on you after 5 months of very poor and flaky communication? Instead of you contacting us we had to contact you. See the problem? At 5 months out, plan sight unseen, contract paid in full, would you find this acceptable?
Most people would find this pretty unreasonable. It was the last red flag, of which there were many. We all have hardships, none of us are immune. We had several hundred dollars tied up for just the site plans and it was never intimated to either myself or my husband there would be any issues with the contracted timeline. Yet 5 months and no plan to look over for even the front garden area?
Come on. The contract had been paid in full for several months and with really zero updates of where anything was in progress and not for lack of trying. We were strung along. We can go back and forth on what is fair but the bottom line is your company was hired for a contracted job. Failing to deliver on this contract in a timely manner as stated and agreed upon was clearly a breach of contract well before the family emergencies occured.
The poor treatment and lack of communication is at the center of our ultimate decision to discontinue any work with your company. Own it or don't. Just know it was a very poor experience because of your inaction and the way your landscaper conducted herself over the 5 months BEFORE the family emergencies. Notably, we ultimately made the correct choice.

We have now completed 2 major projects with the Low Maintenance Landscaping team and are excited to continue renovating our yard over the next couple years with them. I was immediately impressed by Laura Odell's horticultural expertise and her ability to connect to my vision for our yard and her assistance as I grow from a novice into a more dedicated gardener.
The innovative ideas in her original design have helped us imagine something truly special - including elements we didn't even know were possible like a pondless waterfall. We were especially wowed by Tyler and Jon's work the implementation of that pondless waterfall (including rockgarden renovation) and in particular with Tyler's ability to both listen and be open to direction when our vision was very specific and to use his expertise and artistry when we gave them free rein. We've been truly glad to work with this group and both we and now our neighbors are planning to set up an appointment for next year's big project.

This company is exactly what I was looking for, educated, professional, passionate. Did an extensive residential project landscaping around the entire house after foundation work plus other beds needing revitalization. Brenda created a beautiful design and perfectly adapted the few changes I wanted to make. Tyler and his crew were hardworking, thorough and detailed.
I learned a lot from them. Lowanna in the office is on top of everything. I love that the native plants grow well here and won't require tedious attention. I can't wait to see lots of blooms, birds and butterflies! I plan to use them again to do a pergola in the future.

Many thanks to the hardworking and professional crew of Low Maintenance Landscape for transforming our overgrown backyard in to a wonderful and relaxing space. The new design by Laura is working great for us and is exactly what we were hoping for. We especially love our new water feature and all the new plants. The improvements to our yard are amazing and we appreciate all the work you have done for us. It's been a great experience.

Very very happy with the work done by Low Maintenance Landscape. The crew was very detail oriented and professional while on site. They fixed the drainage in an area of my yard we've referred to for years as Lake Lawrence. The torrential last rain put the work to the test. No standing water anywhere. I will definitely hire them again.
