American Landscape

I've had major drainage problems in my yard for years, to the point that it was affecting my neighbors. The very, very nice people at American Landscape did an analysis of my problem and suggested several solutions to what was a complex problem, got me a quote quickly, and once confirmed started digging once the frost was out of the ground. This was a big job, and despite some obstacles from the city which were navigated well, they were done quickly.

We had a huge rainstorm this week (Memorial Day '22) and my neighbor, who's yard is usually flooded out from my problem, came over to rave about how well the system worked. He had watched the process closely, and was amazed at what a great job they did. Nuff said.

James and his crew did a beautiful job ripping up an old garden and laying sod for our front lawn. He also trimmed some trees. Very responsive and quick. They hauled away and cleaned up after left the yard looking beautiful. Very reasonably priced as well. So glad we found James for our landscaping needs.

I have never done a review but felt the need to do one because of how great of a job they did. I wanted to add a boulder retaining wall to our backyard to fix the grading issues from the builder and to make the yard usable. Their estimate was much less compared to the competitors and they did a great job. Everything was done by hand. These guys work extremely hard and I could tell they cared about quality when watching them pick the perfect boulder for each spot. I would highly recommend. Don't waste your time shopping around to get the best quote, just call them right away!

Greg and his crew did an amazing job on our yard! We were having drainage issues that they helped us resolve and they built beautiful boulder retaining walls for us. Really appreciated how professional and hardworking everyone was and we couldn't be happier with the results!

Greg and his team were so professional, timely and great with pricing. I would definitely recommend them to anyone for landscaping issues. I had a major landscaping issue around my house that led to water flooding my window well and basement from the foundation. They were the only company able to come out the same day to assess what needed to be done and had the job completed four days after that.

All the other companies I called wouldn't have been able to come out for at least a week and wouldn't have been able to start the job for two weeks from that leading to me worrying about another rain fall that would cause more flooding after we had just gotten the basement dried. They did an awesome job regrading around my house and since then we have had rain but my basement has not flooded so they did a great and effective job.

They did it for a great price too and really worked with me on price to make it affordable which was important to me as I'm due with a baby in two months. I will def call Greg and his team for any of my future landscaping issues.

We were extremely pleased with American Landscape Co! They installed 4 catch basins and drainpipe to help with ponding water in our backyard. Greg was courteous, responsive to our questions, and true to his detailed estimate for our drain tile system. He stopped by several times during the process to bring his crew whatever they needed and even brought us freshly picked apples and homemade caramels!

We were also impressed with his crew. They were very polite and respectful toward us and answered any of our questions. They did an immaculate job cleaning up! I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing help with drainage issues in or around their home!

First off Greg is great! From the first time I meet him he was super nice and knowledgeable! My wife and I didn't really know what we wanted so Greg helped walk us threw it. He helped pick out rocks and plants to replace our ugly overgrown garden. In two days they had the entire garden ripped out, sheeting laid, plants planted, and rocks laid. He suggested we replace our old rotting logs holding our mulch in around a big oak. (No pressure casually suggested it) we went with it and OMG what a difference.

Beyond adding that we also added more plants and a couple changes. Greg was more than accommodating. His guys did great work. I will recommend them to any and everyone who is looking for landscaping work! Thanks Greg and crew!

Greg came out within a week this spring and gave me an estimate. When I accepted, his crew came out the very next day and got started! The guys were very professional and polite and worked hard. Greg kept in contact with me as far as what they were doing and on which day they would do it. All work was done well and looks great! From estimate to completion, I am very satisfied with the work and would recommend American Landscape Company to anyone. Thanks Greg!

Greg and his crew came out this past winter to fill a hole and repair my sump pump hose. Thanks to their quick response my sump pump was prevented from running all winter. This spring I had them come back out and fix the drainage issues around the rest of the house. They cleaned up all the vegetation and fixed the grade around the foundation. I also added additional work and they had no problems accommodating my requests and the pricing was more than fair.

They removed a horrible poured concrete wall a prior owner had installed and made a very nice patio area by the lower door. Greg's crew was great and even set aside some plantings I had promised to a neighbor. Everything was done with professionalism and safety during this time of social distancing. I have already recommended American Landscape to family members and all my neighbors have commented on how nice the work looks and how hard the crew worked while they were here. I can't say enough good things about the work I had done.

American Landscape is great! Communication was one of the best I've ever had with a business. Greg did everything he said he would do on the schedule we agreed upon. His crew was awesome. They were hard working, and took care with plants and shrubs in the area where they worked. They even replanted some plants they had to remove to do the job in a different area of my yard. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing landscaping services.

I tried to contract American Landscape to do some drainage work at my house. I originally had a consultation set up for Saturday (and had scheduled my day around making sure to be at my house during the scheduled time), and was called 1 hour ahead of the appointment to be told that Greg would not be able to make it on time. I understand that delays happen and wasn't super broken up about it, so I called the offices and had the appointment rescheduled for 3:30 on Sunday.

Come Sunday, Greg calls to confirm the appointment. We confirmed that the appointment was made for 3:30, but I had a flexible schedule so I let him know that if later works for him then we could meet at that time, though the 3:30 time would also work if he preferred. He suggested meeting at 4, which was completely agreeable to me. Indeed, at 4 he came by and said hello while I was speaking with my tenants out front.

The conversation was to inform them about a worker who would be replacing the locks in their apartment and to nail down some leasing details, so I told Greg I would meet him in the back yard shortly. At 4:05 (according to my phone), I went to the back and Greg was nowhere to be found. I circled the property looking, to no avail. At this point (approximately 4:07) I called his cell, and he very curtly informed me that I "made a mistake by making him wait", and to "not call the company ever again".

In Summary: American Landscaping cancelled the initial consultation session for the originally scheduled day, was allotted another 30 minute extension for the rescheduled appointment, and then drove off without a word when I had the audacity to take 5 minutes to complete a conversation with my tenants. This behavior is confusingly unprofessional.

Posting on Google and Yelp because of the great service I received with ALC and Greg. I initially contacted Greg because he had experience in water drainage issues. I had Greg and his crew come out in June to install drain tile in my back in June and we've had a few hard rains and things are looking great! Installing a pipe underground so your yard looks virtually the same is not the most exciting thing in the world to fork money over for.

I appreciated Greg's honesty, politeness and communication - all were top notch! Fair pricing, hard working crew, space awareness (keeping the rest of the yard clean and neat with the surplus of tools needed to do the job) and SUPERIOR communication! Thanks ALC!

We had American Landscape build a retaining wall by our driveway. Brandon and Tom did the majority of the work on it and they were EXCELLENT. They worked hard and Brandon took the time to get one difficult area of the wall just right. Tom also handled a difficult area and it turned out well. We appreciate their work! Gary S.
