Chris Joyce began his landscape career while still in high school, with a single lawn mower and a few neighbors as customers. With an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong work ethic, Chris decided early in life that landscaping was his passion. Throughout four years of college at The Stockbridge School of Agriculture and the University of Massachusetts, Chris commuted home every weekend to service his growing base of customers.
The benefits of compost and overseed are many. Grass is a very needy plant - it requires considerable water to stay green, and food to stay healthy. By the end of the season, the turf has drawn quite a bit of the natural nutrients out of the soil (especially if you have not fertilized). By top-dressing your lawn with quality compost, you are introducing a fresh store of food for next spring. When top dressing with compost, add seed to the mix for a brand new crop of grass that will fi ll any voids left by summer stress.
Joyce Landscaping specializes in landscape design and construction that results in projects that are imaginative yet readily built. Each project is a unique reflection of out client's personality relative to their property. We accomplish our objective through careful listening and observation. A gentleman came to my house today to blow out the sprinkler system. He needed to get to the main water shutoff so I let him in the basement. He discovered a leak in a pipe that had nothing to do with the sprinkler system, proceeded to shut off the main and tape over the small leak until I could get a plumber. This gentleman went above and beyond and I truly appreciate it. Customer experience is everything.

Had at my back at my house this year again to clean the beds, edge, and put down the mulch. The two guys who came did an outstanding job they arrived before 9 and did not start mulching until after noon time! They paid attention to detail when it came to the weeding and edging it was great to see that they didn't just put the mulch over the grass that was growing in all the beds Highly Recommend Them Mike

These guys work on a neighboring property. They recently performed spring season bed mulching service. Interestingly, they performed leaf blowing service on my shared property line prior to mulching the beds. Then they removed oak leaves from shrub beds and left them strewn about the property and did not collect and remove the oak leaves. In the interim days after, the oak leaves have blown all around the neighborhood including my property. So if you want a not so neighborly friendly landscape crew, these are your guys!

We hired Joyce to do the whole package, spring, summer, fall - all the options. Very expensive. Their work was sloppy, half the time they didn't show up and we had to call. Then they started skipping an area and the grass grew a foot high. We called and called and asked someone to come out and talk to us but no one ever came. Then we had a 20k project where we cut some trees, did some stonework ripped out ivy beds and replanted the grass and beds on whole property.
Of course we didn't hire Joyce for that and the difference was night and day. We found an excellent, responsive landscaper. Now Joyce is billing is for part of that project they had started but had to be redone because it was done so poorly. We have again called Joyce many times to discuss this but have never received a call back. Now they are threatening collection so we will pay but will also spread the news about their terrible work and business ethics.
