Our neighbors on the adjoining street had contracted O'Grady's for some leaf removal. Unfortunately, the use of gas-powered leafblowers was started at 7 AM and woke up the whole neighborhood. I understand the desire to get an early start, but 7 am is just too early to start if you are trying to be respectful to your community.

O'Grady's came in with a vision which would transform our jungle into a backyard oasis! They were extraordinary, communicative and reliable and we felt confident in their knowledge and abilities from day one! We couldn't be more delighted with their service and professionalism and are grateful to support a local small business that not only delivers quality at a highly competitive price structure, but also cares so deeply for their team members! Mike Hambleton at O'Grady's installed a patio and landscaped the front of our house. Mike is excellent to work with and pays attention to the details. The crews that did the work are as diligent and detailed in their work. I highly recommend Mike and the O'Grady team.

I met with Patrick to get a proposal for an annual maintenance contract. He was on time and sent the proposal in a timely manner. Three issues were of concern and I tried to work through them but to no avail. First, they require a credit card on the account so they can charge maintenance costs or if they need to add additional charges. I am not sure if the additions charges would have been with my approval or not as the proposal did not address and Patrick could not clarify.

This was of concern but I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. The second issue was that some parts of the proposal are based on man hour cost, which can lead to potential for unlimited charges as there were no limits assigned to them. When I asked, their response in a nutshell was you just have to trust us. The third issue was about Fall leaf removal.

The proposal stated 2-3 times in Fall at $65 per man hour. Although we had agreed that they would blow the leaves into the treed areas of my yard -- no collecting or hauling -- Patrick said they would take 3 men about 2 hours for each session (6 man hours or $390 per session). I expressed my desire to have the Fall leaves removed four times ($1,560). But, Patrick said in reality, they would only do it twice in the Fall and will not do more even though I am willing to pay for this expensive charge.

Another words, I would have to hire someone else to blow the Fall leaves from around my house. I have contracted previously with several landscape maintenance companies and I have never experienced a company that is so inflexible and uncaring about the customer needs.

I had a job that included sod and initially Terry said that they don't do stand alone sod. The job actually includes sod, landscaping and hardscaping. He did follow up with a recommendation, but, it didn't include an offer to come see the site and provide an estimate. I had heard great things about this company and was looking forward to working with them.

O'Grady's did an awesome job re-landscaping our backyard. We have beautiful lighting for our trees and an above ground garden plot that actually me to have a successful garden this year (!). Highly recommend them.

O'Grady's is excellent on all counts -- professional and knowledgeable; terrific, skillful crews; courteous and kind always. I have had three major jobs (plus occasional lawn care) accomplished by O'Grady's: 1) a stone wall by the driveway; 2) patio leveled with new wood borders put in with regrading in the back of the house and underground drain pipe installed; and 3) a back path with bushes planted into the woods, wood timbers (steps) replaced where rotted, another patio leveled, overgrown ground cover trimmed and wild overgrown plants removed in back woods. A lot of work and all was done to perfection. I would not use any other company -- I couldn't ask for better service and jobs well done!

The patio they did was good but the landscaping was just ok. Two of our shrubs did not look well after the winter.

I was impressed with Mike's professionalism in assessing our needs. They generated a statement with a range of options and clear costs for each. The work was done on schedule, quickly and professionally with no problems. Would certainly work with them again!

I've done three projects with a crew from O'Grady's supervised by Mike Hambleton. Two of the projects were whoppers -- replace a failed 1960s brick retaining wall and stairs with natural stone versions; and about 90 feet of rain gardens, rain/water retention channels, and improved beds. They were just fantastic. Mike quickly understood the natural look we were trying to achieve, and made it happen. On time, on budget, with minimal disruption to our lives and no extra mess. The results far surpassed my expectations. I now recommend them to everyone.

We have been using O'Grady Landscaping for years. They are incredibly reliable and responsive. Great group of guys each week for mowing and edging. I've also used them for large clean-ups and the work has been fantastic!

I could not have had a better experience than I did with the folks at O'Grady's. Their landscaping and stone work are exceptional, their fees are eminently reasonable, and whatever small amount you think you'll save by going with someone else, you will more than make up for in piece-of-mind that the job will be done to your satisfaction.

Our project turned out to be much more complicated than we had anticipated, but Mike and Terry, the owner, worked seamlessly with us and our structural engineer to get it right - and we could not be happier with the final product. Their team is professional, show up on time, and stay until their work is completed. Hands down, O'Grady's is one of the best contractors I've ever worked with.

Did not lay the landscaping/weed barrier on the property as directed, did not finish laying 4 inches of mulch. Weeds up through the 2 inches they put down in the fall - no weed barrier. Had been happy with them before but seems they are too busy to check and make sure the workers have finished and done what was contracted for.

I'm torn on this company, but am rating them based on the good rather than the bad. They're great to work with for landscaping and mowing (5 stars), but avoid them for general things like spring cleanup because it's clear they don't like to do it and they charge accordingly (2 stars). The good first: they used to mow for me at a very reasonable price, and I've hired them for landscaping (planting) work and stone wall construction and was very satisfied. Mike is great to work with and they do quality work, on time, at a fair price.

No complaints on that front at all; hire them and you'll be happy. The bad: I once got a quote for $1000 from them to clean up some of my beds; work that I then did by myself in about 4 hours. I thought that might be a fluke, so tried again, only to be billed for 26 man hours on work that regularly takes me less than 10. I complained, the owner said he stood behind the charge (without even coming out to look at the work), but to his credit he did say I should pay only what I think I owed.

I paid for something like 14 or 16 hours, I think, to split the difference, while knowing that was still too high. So I do recommend them, just not for general yard cleanup, etc.

Last year my lawn was filled with weeds. After trying to do it myself and haul bags of fertilizer, I noticed a friend's lawn that always looked perfect and asked who she used. O'Grady's was called. Mike Sullivan came out and got us started with seeding and fertilizing last Fall. This spring the lawn looks amazing! Right on schedule the crew at O'Grady's comes out to fertilize and make sure our lawn looks great.

Their price for the service is very reasonable compared to other companies I interviewed and well worth it to get the type of results we've seen. Everyone I've dealt with is very nice and responsive. I would definitely recommend them for lawn care services.

Called O'Grady's for a quote on garden beds and some regrading - took about a week for them to call me back, which was not a big deal, then a VERY nice man named Mike came out to look at our yard. I asked for a quote in parts incase we could only do a section at a time and our goal was to do a regrading project first. Mike was super nice and sent a quote.

The quote seemed high for the beds and a walkway though the regrading was fine and I emailed him back that we wished to go forward with the regrading ASAP and I would shop around a bit for the beds. (never said I would not use them but needed to get a better idea of what other rates were out there.) Never got an email response, called LM on Mikes cell phone- never got a call back, finally called the main number and got this email from Mike: Thank you for the phone call.

We have a $1200 minimum on work that we can do at each house. Unfortunately you do not meet this requirement. And our prices are too expensive so I am assuming that we cannot do the work for you, as what I got from your last email you were going to shop around for other prices good luck in the future. NO REQUIREMENT was on the quote. Very disappointed to have wasted all most a month from the first call to this email today.

They most likely lost a client as I really like the Mike and would have likely bought half of what they had quoted once we got the re-grading done. How about they responded with why the price for the beds was reasonable, I am in sales I would have been open to learning about the features and benefits of using them.

O'Grady's did a great job on a grading and shrubby job I had done this summer! Above average customer service! Mike was prompt returning my call inquiring about the job, was on time for the appraisal and was responsive to all of my follow on questions. The work crew was friendly, quick and did a great job on a berm, swirl drain, shrub line and ground cover.

The even used the left over mulch to fill in another bed they were not working on (weeded it too!). I've had some extremely poor customer service experiences this summer with two other businesses. O'Grady's and Mike restored my confidence in the American work ethic! Highly recommend them for your landscaping job!

As an avid gardner, I have worked with a variety of landscape companies. O'Grady's is now the ONLY landscape company I use. They can accommodate all my needs from a weekly mowing to a spring and fall clean up along with handling projects such as adding a patio, fixing hardscapes and providing plantings. I have used O'grady's Landscape and Lawn care on a couple of occasions. Mr. O'Grady personally came to our house to survey our yard in order to 1) level out (grade) our front yard and replant grass and 2) to install a new patio in our backyard. He was very professional is his approach and offered me a couple of options for our projects (with different price quotes, which was very helpful).

O'Grady's is awesome! They manage and maintain all of our landscaping. They are very responsive to any request (I get responses to any inquiry within hours), dispatch team members to meet and review any requests (I requested they come out to cable a tree damaged by a recent storm and they alerted me to another tree that was leaning over my pool that I had not even seen) and are willing to ensure that a job is done to the customer's satisfaction.
