Trees and shrubs are the essence of your property's beauty, refreshing the eye and spirit and creating an inviting space. Trees protect from summer's sun and winter's wind. They also provide sound protection from the outside world and clean the air our families breathe. According to real estate specialists, trees can even increase property values by 20% or more.
While it may seem simple, tree removal is a highly technical task that warrants a professional. While chopping down a tree on your property or buzzing it down with a saw sounds like a good option, it's typically not safe, up to code, or even as cost-effective as you may think. An amateur tree removal can result in injury, may not even be allowed in your neighborhood, and can be expensive if you don't already own the proper equipment! Instead of taking a risk, trust the Certified Arborists at Northern Virginia Tree Experts to remove your tree safely.

We had a great experience with NVTE. The dogwood in our front yard died, which was pretty sad because I loved that tree. NVTE came out and evaluated all our trees and wrote us up a comprehensive and reasonable quote. They came out (very quickly!) and removed the dead dogwood, and trimmed our other trees. All our trees look so healthy now. NVTE even gave me a great recommendation for a landscaper to replace my dogwood. I highly recommend them!

NVTE sent a great crew. Completely competent and professional in all aspects of their work. They worked hard in this ridiculously cold weather today. I was impressed with their ability to cull what was necessary while preserving the aesthetics of the trees. Great service, and I plan on using them again. Service: Tree trimming & pruning

A few months ago, after a beautiful leaving in the Spring, a very, very large red oak tree in our backyard suddenly went brown. I did an extremely thorough job of researching local arborists, got quotes from all and one company rose to the top in every category. They were professional, prompt, their arborist was clearly knowledgeable, and an appointment was set up to remove the tree.
My job was to clear a wide path through a bamboo forest that has spent the last 30 years growing. I would be remiss if I didn't describe where the tree was located. It was directly on the fence line between my property and a neighbors, within about 30 or so feet from their house (and about the same distance from ours. Because of some terrible pruning decisions in the past, one entire side of the tree (the one that pointed out over my lawn) had been cleared of branches and all the large, extensive other branches had been left hovering dangerously over the neighbors house.
Which large branches could the tree removal expert use to "swing" down the other branches? Well, they figured it out and within a few hours, they had taken the tree down to about 20 ft. tall with just the main trunk remaining. It was a masterful job. Such work, with a heavy, dangerous tree like this, is bound to cause some heavy damage to the ground surrounding the tree, and so it was with my yard.
Even though such damage is normally never covered, the owners still worked with me and were exceedingly generous in coming to an agreement. I would heartily recommend them to anyone considering a tree removal service. I've got a couple of decades of experience with chain saws and splitting, but working with much smaller trees, and my grade of them is an A+. You can't go wrong. Their prices are reasonable, their crew efficient and professional, and their staff courteous and fair. What a Great Experience!

The "tree team" did an excellent job at our house trimming and pruning several large trees. They are very organized, efficient and paid attention to detail. Wonderful work. My neighbor said to me: "Your trees look great. They (the tree team) were like artists." Back office support people are great and John the certified arborist really knows his trees!

I have been using Northern Virginia Tree Experts for 15 years, and am always pleased with the work. Their focus is on healthy trees, so their efforts prioritize the long term appearance and viability of trees- they have done cabling on a massive sycamore, tree fertilization and pruning to keep the trees looking nice and growing- their last option considered is removing a tree.
Each time I have used them they have done excellent work, being very careful to protect my house and other plantings, and doing a thorough cleanup when they are done. I will continue to use their services.

We picked Northern Virginia Tree Experts to cut and grind a large tree on our property. We went with them because they gave us the lowest estimate and provided the best customer service when they came to do the estimate. The tree removers and staff each went above and beyond to always stay supportive and go out of their way to help (especially Brian).
We are very happy and thankful. The service was organized, clean, quick, and no issues. They did amazing work and cleaned up everything very nice after the work and were very friendly the entire time. We are very thankful and look forward to them doing more work for us in the future. Thank you Northern Virginia Tree Experts! We appreciate your company and staff so much.

We had a great experience with Northern Virginia Tree Experts! From initially requesting a quote to removing a number of trees in the backyard, their communication was clear, with reasonable prices and excellent service. They cleaned up so thoroughly that you could hardly tell trees had been cut down. Thanks to Bryan and the team, would definitely use them again in the future!

Unfortunately we did not have the same experience. We scheduled an estimate for some tree limb cutting and to have a small tree that we planted in the front garden examined. The estimator arrived on a day when it was raining lightly and my wife went out to speak to him but he did not get out his car. He stated that he could not cut the tree branches hanging over our driveway because the tree itself was in the neighbor's yard.
We have had this done before without any issue but I assume that this is NVTE's policy so not going to make it an issue. The issue was the small tree in our front garden. Without getting out of his car he looked over at it and said it was a dead tree. This was devastating since this tree was planted by our son who passed away in Feb 2021 from Covid and we were trying to make sure it had the best possible chance at growing.
I am sure it wasn't the intent of the estimator to upset my wife but this news devastated her. Now, the reason for the low review isn't only because of his assumptions or his attitude or his unwillingness to get out the car - it is because he was wrong. The tree started blossoming leaves a week later (images attached). Had he actually gotten out of the car and looked at the tree he might have have seen it was alive. Instead my wife spent a week needlessly crying and I almost ended up removing it to replace it with a memorial tree. Not the best first impression.
