In 1960, Raymond Thompson began growing azaleas in the backyard of his Rocky Mount, NC home in a make-shift greenhouse he had built. Little did he know at the time of the business that would grow out of this small plastic-covered wooden structure. Because he still had a full-time job, Raymond got his wife, Tommie, to water and care for the plants during the day while he would take care of them in the evenings. Soon Raymond's children became involved and Saturdays became a prime sale day for their backyard nursery.

We bought our Bad Boy lawn mower here 12 years ago and have continued to bring it here for maintenance and repairs over the years. We have enjoyed working with this company until now. We had some damage to a wire due to a rodent problem in our shed and had to get the mower in for a relatively small repair. This was right before the July 4th weekend.
I understand the shipping problems we have all been working around due to Covid, etc., but we are just today, Nov. 26th, receiving our mower back. My husband has had to tirelessly contact Thompson's. No one ever calls back. We've been told someone has called back occasionally over the course of these past months, but somehow they never seem to think it necessary to leave a voicemail.
My husband spoke to Alan the other day on one of our many status call checks - they never call us to touch base; we have had to continually follow up with them - and he said, "Oh, no one called you? It's been ready." He didn't apologize until near the end of the conversation and then only halfheartedly. No one has really apologized for the unmitigated disaster that this relatively simple repair has become.
Almost 5 months is an awfully long time to be without your lawn mower in rural North Carolina. We are absolutely frustrated and angry about the customer service we've had to deal with. I'm not one to leave reviews like this, but this situation has just been insane. Terrible company, terrible service. I'm now seeing the owner's response and am absolutely floored.
I have to think this response is geared to another customer issue, and the owner isn't even aware of what our issue actually is. My husband called numerous times to check in - this is not a "good faith" effort? An in-person visit is required? We were BEYOND patient with the constant lack of communication from the company. Part of our patience was, in fact, due to our sympathy around the worldwide complications from Covid. NO CREW WAS SENT TO OUR HOME TO SERVICE OUR PROPERTY, and no offer of this nature was ever made.
Not once. Are you serious? I can't even comment as to the cost of any repair - we've not heard from anyone about it! This is beyond frustrating and upsetting. At least admit when something's gone wrong and apologize. Terrible company, terrible service.

Javon and Todd are most helpful and always respond immediately. They are both very professional and easy to work with in trying to accommodate my requests. Javon is an extremely hard worker and will not leave until he resolves the issue at hand. We've had excellent service from Thompson's and highly recommend them.

I could not have chosen a more perfect company than Thompson's Nursary to successfully find a more perfect 20ft crepe Myrtle tree, transporting it from Jacksonville to my home, prepping the grounds for planting and planting the tree to a perfection. What really touched me was that Joe Conn, the General Manager, stopped by to show gratitude for choosing his company for the task. The job was completed and groomed to a perfection. I look forward to future opportunities with you. Very Kind Regards Dab Parks
