At Reds, plants are our passion. Visit our large garden center for the finest selection of plants available today in a variety of balled, burlapped, and container-grown sizes. We carry over 450 varieties of evergreens, shade trees, grasses, and shrubs, both old-time favorites and the newest cultivars.
Annual flowers live only one growing season, during which they grow, flower, and produce seed, thereby completing their life cycle. Annuals are versatile, sturdy, and relatively inexpensive. They are easy to grow, produce instant color, and bloom for most of the growing season. Annuals offer the gardener a chance to experiment with color, height, texture, and form.
The most highly prized landscape plants are broadleaf evergreens. Valued chiefly for their evergreen foliage, broadleaf evergreens possess many ornamental traits. They are generally clean plants, dropping few leaves at any one time, and they never become overgrown and weedy as some other ornamentals do.

Coming from a business owner, this is by far the worst supplier I've been to. I've been to at least 40 suppliers from the Illinois to Wisconsin area. First off the loading zone is horrible, I was told to park on the complete other side of the office just so I can park and grab my receipt from the office. Before I arrived I had a truck driver from my company arrive and pay for sod in advance. so once I arrived I would load up and leave.

But once i arrived they said I needed a receipt and even though I was willing to provide information proving I was the owner she said she still could not give me another receipt. My truck driver already spoke with a lady from customer service and explained I would arrive a little later. Eventually I asked if she could call a forklift driver to see if he spoke with my driver as-well.she called a forklift driver outside and said it was okay because he spoke with my driver.

Next the guys outside told me I wasn't going to be able to get loaded because of my open trailer even though I loaded sod on that trailer multiple times before. He decided to come back 30 seconds later just to tell me that he would be able but with a bigger forklift. While loading me, because the loading zone is to small I had to move my truck twice just to get loaded.

Once I finally was loaded and had to move my truck twice in less than 1 minute. I asked the loader if he can wrap my pallet of sod with saran wrap because I'd have to drive 40 minutes away and didn't want rolls of grass flying out. He said he couldn't because my pallet was loaded already, I told him again I needed it wrapped since I was going far.

He then tells me I can wrap it myself and pointed where the Saran Wrap was. Once I started wrapping my pallet of sod I was told I needed to move my truck once again. The loading zone is a hot mess, I was here once before which was last year and also had the same problem of the Loading zone being to small and having to move my truck multiple times.

But I decided not to write a bad review since it was a weekend which tends to be busier. But this time killed my mood, I had to argue with the lady in customer service and repeat myself multiple times to the forklift driver just for him to do half his job. Seems like the people inside and outside have no communication at all. Don't think I'll ever come again.

Best firewood on the north shore. If you get the "taste of the woods" you will have a nice assortment of different hardwoods to burn.

Red's is a family tradition. I went there with my parents and siblings every year for our tree and now I go with my wife and kids. They have friendly service, a great selection of trees and Christmas goodies, and their wood is great quality! Create your own family tradition here and you will not be disappointed:

Was I at the same place as these others who wrote such nice things in their reviews?! My experience was quite different. First thing I noticed was how dry the flowers were in the back. I felt sorry for the poor little things! Another nursery had same flowers that looked much healthier. But I felt I had to rescue the ones at Reds or they'd be dead the following day so I bought them there.

I then go up to the front to one of the counters. I didn't understand that you are to bring your cart to the back of the counter! The woman with platinum hair & glasses made some comment that I wasn't on the ball or wasn't on my game that day. I found the comment rude and unnecessary. If they had better signage communicating what the flow of your cart is supposed to be I would have understood.

The best part was when I had to go in to pay and there was a young lady definitely younger than the other women behind the counter. The young lady had to pick up a dime that jumped behind her register because I was busy counting out my money. She totally copped an attitude from that. She gave me such a look of cold contempt that I was ready to ask her what her problem was instead she just stamped my bill paid five times too many handed it to me and just looked at me.

There was no thank you for shopping at Reds there was no enjoy your flowers nothing. I'm sorry but after that experience I will never be shopping at Reds. They're just too many other nurseries to do business with.

Reds has been our go-to provider for all of our landscaping needs. Shrubs and now trees. The employees there are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We got some great suggestions, lots of personal attention, and also a bit of guidance to find what we were looking for. Wear work boots if you have them, or at least something easy to wash off the mud. Remember they are constantly watering all these living things until they find their new homes!

Great firewood purchasing experience! I am brand new to firewood and the person on the phone spent 15 minutes going through all the different types of wood, how they burn, and different pricing options. She spent the extra time so I felt completely satisfied with my $160 firewood purchase. The delivery was very quick and on time. I have been burning this wood for 5 days straight and it burns great! I'll be coming back for more. : Happy Thanksgiving.

Great service! We were very pleased with our wood delivery. I called to request wood for our smoker and a stump for splitting wood and it was delivered and stacked exactly as requested for a very reasonable price. Love to shop at a family run company. They know their stuff and are a pleasure to work with.

Holy smokes! This may be the biggest garden center I've ever seen. If you're coming with more than one person and think there's even the slightest chance you may get separated -- and with the 13 greenhouses and a labyrinth of planty lanes, there is -- don't do like I did and leave your phone in the car. Once I realized my companion had vanished, I was fated to traverse the land alone, shielding my face from the sun until my arms became tired, exchanging uncomfortable glances or avoiding eye contact with the employees and other shoppers with whom I crossed paths more than once.

After repeatedly entering and exiting humid houses of green and I'd forgotten my name, I changed my goal from finding my companion to solving my dehydrated delirium. After I almost walked into a building that wasn't a building, a pink-shirted woman asked if I needed help. Hoping I might find a small beverage cooler with water or juice for sale, I asked her to point me to the main shop.

I entered, somewhat refreshed by the artificial atmosphere, and saw cute figurines of frogs and turtles, but no drinks. I withered, made another short loop, then tried the car -- which was locked and hot in the broad sunlight. I traipsed back to the greenhouses once more, gasping, found otherworldly plants with names I'd never heard of, and wondered if I'd crossed over. Finally, I spotted my companion, and ran to him. We left. I think. Unless I'm still there, swallowed by a begonia, lost in my own mind, overcome by the foliage.
