John William Sturn, known as Jack, established Jack's Lawn Service, Inc. in February of 1977. He was born and raised in Monroe. He is the middle son of Warren J. and Mary T. (Rappold) Sturn. Jack is married to the former Christina M. Phillips and has three children. Their three children, Paula, Jason, and Anna are involved within the business, as well as his sister.
Creates holes in the surface of the lawn by removing "plugs" of dirt and allows the soil to breathe better. We delivery all our landscaping supplies. Bulk material is delivered by single, tri axle, or quad axle dump truck. Palletized material is delivered on our flat bed truck and unloaded with a spider machine.
Black Jack 5 1/2 high x 20' long section, comes with a kit which includes 4 stakes and 1 connector. Extra kits, stakes, connectors, wide angle, and tee connectors are also available. Brick Edging Straight and Curve Sections, 15' length, comes with 4 stakes and 1 connector. Extra stakes, connectors, and nails are available.

Machine runs on gasoline, very easy to operate, need a reese hitch, basic machine comes with loader bucket ( we have three different size buckets). I had to go to Jack's because they were recommended by the Troy Bilt Manufacturer. The mower wouldn't start last Spring so I called, they arrived and picked up the rider. I told them it wouldn't start and the battery wouldn't hold a charge. They replaced a deck belt. After they returned the mower I used it once but it wouldn't start the second time I wanted to use it and it wouldn't go into gear to move.
Their Delivery person couldn't get it started either and had to manually disconnect something to be able to push it onto his trailer. The mower was returned after they replaced the 'carburetor'. A total of 3 expensive 'services' and this Spring the mower won't start, again. :

Everything was great with the stump grinder rental. Price seemed fair and worked as it should. But I hope all there millions of dollars is based on volume and not just over-priced stuff. Reason being I will never understand why but because it was 4:30 when I returned the grinder and because they close at 5 they denied me the purchase of a 3500$ zero turn because they close at 5 and don't have time.
I have to come back tomorrow. Like a sales rep and someone with keys couldn't end up worse case staying 20 mons after 5? What business turns down a 3500 sale because they closed in 30 mins?

First time I've had a bad experience at Jack's. Usually they are more than fair. Today, a 10-minute rental for a piece of power equipment that could not do the job cost the full 4-hour rental. That makes no sense. Jacks usually treats you better. I would say stay clear maybe it's new management maybe it's just the wrong person I don't know
