Rude. Had the misfortune to run into this company at a landscaping store. We went inside to buy a specific boulder and when we came out Canterbury was putting red stickers on many boulders. I mentioned that we were in the middle of purchasing this one specific boulder and the guy said it was now his. He didn't even really care about that specific boulder anyway. Was just tagging stuff fairly randomly.

He tagged some pretty ugly boulders too, considering all they had there. Kind of a jerk move if you ask me, especially when we explained politely. I wouldn't trust them with your yard with that bad taste. Bad energy. Bad karma. Don't bring these people into your life.

We highly recommend Canterbury Landscaping. Ken, Michelle and crew were friendly people and so easy to work with. They met with us several times to determine our vision and develop a design. They had an extensive portfolio and plant book we got to comb through and pick out our favorites. They spent time in our yard determining how much sun exposure we had and guiding us towards plants that will thrive in our yard. They were easily reached for any questions or concerns. We love the final result and stayed on budget.

A wonderful experience! Working with Ken, Michelle, Javier, and their crew was a real blast. --They designed, irrigated, and planted our back and side yards, and completely transformed our space. Michelle worked very closely with us to come up with a beautiful, almost completely California-Native design that we couldn't be happier with. Her plant knowledge is astounding. She'd be happy to hear that the butterfly, dragonfly, and bird population is already up! Ken is very quick to respond to any questions and his experience is evident in his guidance. Javier and his crew are extremely professional and detail oriented. Really, everything went seamlessly. Thanks to everyone! Without you, I'd have been hoisted by my own petard. If we had another yard, we'd go with Canterbury again in a heartbeat.

Ken and Michelle were great to work with and I'm so pleased with the end result! I had a scrappy backyard and they helped turn it around. After install Ken talked me through all the necessary maintenance to make sure the plants thrive. Photos were taken immediately after install so plants are still young but it'll be great come spring.

Canterbury Landscaping completely redesigned, irrigated, and landscaped our front yard. This project went extremely well from start to finish. Ken and Michelle are an amazing team. They listened to what we wanted, what we liked and didn't like, as well as kept our budget in mind. They transformed our front yard from a weed-infested wasteland of bermuda grass, to a relaxing, low-water Eden.

We have young children and a small dog, and they were very thoughtful about what they planned for us, keeping that in mind. They kept a patch of grass for the kids to run around or picnic on, and made sure that all of the plants are kid and dog friendly. They also used smaller plants to help keep the cost down. Perhaps best of all, Ken and Michelle plan for their landscapes to last for decades.

They use materials, such as metal edging on the beds and paths, that will last and not fall into disrepair. We couldn't be happier with our new yard and look forward to many happy days in it with our family.

End result was fantastic - Ken and Michelle provide a good yin/yang approach. Loved Michelle's design work and appreciated Ken's experienced voice on decisions related to the implementation of hardscape, lighting, etc. Continue to have people stop, stare, take pictures and ask who did it. I did get a great rebate - it still cost me a good price that far exceeded the rebate. BUT it was SO worth it - I still admire it daily.

They are busy so follow up is needed, but once on job - they're efficient and timely! UPDATE: just got Golden Arrow Award from Pasadena Beautiful Foundation! So honored and its all their work! Similar to another review - they have followed up and replaced plants that didn't take and provided insight to care & maintenance. Its been 18 months & the plants have matured and it looks marvelous Wish I could post another updated picture as its even better!

Canterbury Landscaping really gets the job done. We couldn't be happier with the results and how professionally they carried out the installation. We interviewed a number of landscape designers for the project but ended up going back to Canterbury, the landscapers who planted a number of trees in our yard twenty some years ago. Michelle Pekko-Seymoure, Canterbury's designer, came up with a wonderful, waterwise plan for our front bank to replace the dying Oleanders. Ken Bilheimer and his team always arrived on time and approached the job with the utmost efficiency and care.

After the installation, Ken and Michelle took the time to explain how to maintain the garden and use the automatic sprinkler system. Even low water plants need water until they become established. It was a pleasure to work with Canterbury Landscaping. Highly recommend.

Flaky! They came out to our house to do an assessment and give an estimate to redo the yard with drought-tolerant landscaping. The woman, Michelle, was smart, pleasant and helpful; all the man said was, "I don't like dogs!" They spent two hours here and said they'd get back to us. Never heard from them again.
