Phillips Garden

Tyler and team at Phillips Gardens were fantastic. Our backyard transformation has been one of the highlights of the summer. Creative ideas, easy to make changes and communicate problems, polite and easy crew to work with. I couldn't recommend them more strongly. My husband's comments speak to our satisfaction. Not being particularly interested in gardens, he was not sure that it was going to be worth the expense. Now he sits outside on the patio every night (which he never did) and believes in the tremendous value received by creating our new space! Go fo it!

The Phillips team does beautiful work and our team leader, Laura, really listens to what we want. She is always creative and very responsive to our requests. Our garden has never looked better.

From the initial consult through the install the team at Phillips was outstanding. They listened to our wishes, and created something greater than we could could have imagined. Hardly a day passes without a person stopping and complimenting the beauty Phillips has created.

From planning to planting to maintenance, everyone at Phillips Garden was helpful, cheery, and knowledgeable. I was always happy to see their truck pull up in front of our house! We got rid of our lawn and planted a perennial pollinator garden and we couldn't have done it without them. They listened, came up with creative solutions, and then listened some more. It was a terrific process based on a real commitment to what we were trying to imagine together.

The work went perfectly according to plan. The results were exactly what we wanted and expected. Working with Tyler was easy. He understood what we wanted and communicated just the right amount. The crew was really nice to have at our home. They were friendly and exceptionally helpful when we had questions. They also respected our home by cleaning up thoroughly each day. We were also surprised by their inventiveness to find solutions to the unforeseen issues with our weird old house and yard.

Phillips Garden did a fabulous job on a steep, sunny slope. Tyler designed a retaining wall, bluestone capped knee wall surrounding a patio and cantilevered pergola, solving the overheating problem in our adjoining 3 season porch. We had additional garden areas created and many plants, trees and bushes were installed. We were delighted with the creativeness of the design.

We've used Phillips Gardens for landscaping plans in two yards and couldn't be happier with the outcome. The buyers of our home have continued their services to maintain the beauty. Creative, imaginative, and great crews to work with.

Phillips Garden was wonderful to work with! They were attentive to our specific needs and our picky tastes! They really worked hard to meet our budget and our design expectations. Their creativity and ability to create beautiful spaces are amazing. Now we are just dreaming of our next landscape project with them!

Phillips Garden did a full backyard remodel in summer 2015 - turned our crappy amateur patio, half-century-old cement walkway, and weed-infested lump green space into a beautiful bluestone garden paradise. They were very patient with our changing desires & budget, and were extremely thorough and diligent getting the project done (early!). The designers came up with a wonderful creative "circle" design to leverage our topography, and the garden folks planted 600 (!) perennials in beautiful ways that enhanced our vision. Their build & maintenance staff are all pros - it was a wonderful project, and we still use them on an annual basis. Wonderful artists all.

I met with three representatives from Phillips Garden. We had a long meeting which I thought went very well. At the end, we agreed they would do a design for a patio on one side of my property. I waited several weeks but never heard back from them. When I contacted them, they informed me they were not interested in working with me. Apparently they were not going to contact me of their own volition and I felt very stupid having waited several weeks for a design and informing family members of my "great" meeting.

I do have a place on a larger chunk of land, so I think perhaps the scope of the project was too large for an urban landscaping company. However, I think it would have been much nicer to have told me this and not have me foolishly under the impression that they would do work for me when they had no intentions whatsoever. The whole situation was unpleasant and bizarre.

We used Phillips to landscape our back yard. It was a big project with a new patio, shrubs and trees. They were great at helping us come up with a plan for the area that would make the area more livable for us and handle water well. Plant selection was another area where they provided great advice. When it came time to put the plan into action, they worked with us on things we wanted to do ourselves to save money (demolition work), have them do, or have them subcontract to others (like pouring the new patio). I would use them again and recommend them to others.
