Combining plantings and stonework, we create gardens of timeless, classic beauty that can be enjoyed throughout the year. English Gardens & Landscaping creates and installs award winning residential garden designs and landscapes that evoke the abundant color and luxuriant verdure of English and European gardens.
Transplanted from Yorkshire, England, Andrew Pighills is passionate about his english garden heritage and the art of creating stone structures. He received his formal horticulture training with the Royal Horticultural Society and has completed stone building apprenticeships with master stone artisans in the Yorkshire Dales, including certification with the Drystone Walling Association of Great Britain.
We create gardens to suit every taste and mood, from a vibrant sun drenched border to invigorate the spirit, through a tranquil woodland glade to soothe the soul. We think of landscape design as an extension of your home. All aspects of the exterior design must work together as a coherent series of garden rooms.
Project Brief: What was previously a family summer home was converted to a year-round residence. A new wing was added and the resultant altered footprint of the house called for a different approach to the landscaping. The property is nestled in a forested woodland and faces onto a broad field with views to a lake.
Project Brief: This compact suburban property had been neglected for a decade and was engulfed in overgrowth. Ivy had swallowed up much of the house and the sidewalks, wisteria had blocked the light from the windows and grass and weeds had submerged old stepping stone paths creating dangerous conditions for the client and her visitors.
