A full service landscape company specializing in residential and commercial landscape design and installation, landscape maintenance, hardscape construction, irrigation design and installation, installation and maintenance of annuals, perennials, wildflowers etc.Barry Stern, President, has worked in the landscape business since 1969 and earned a B.S. degree in Horticulture from Purdue University in 1974. In 1978 Barry moved to Atlanta to start a landscape maintenance division for his previous employer. According to figures compiled in the May, 1989 Lawn Care Industry, a trade publication, Mr. Sterns maintenance division was the 26th largest in the country, with revenues of $2,170,000 in 1988. In March of 1990, Barry left to form his own company, Genesis Landscape Group, Inc.
Mr. Stern is a member of the Industrial Division Advisory Board representing the Environmental Horticulture Industry for the North Metro Technical Institute. He has also served on the Board of Directors for the Metro Atlanta Landscape and Turf Association, and was its President in 1987.
Tim Schoeff, Vice-President, attended Indiana University and was the Southeast Regional Sales Manager for the Putnam Publishing Group from 1980-1985. Moving to Atlanta in 1986, Tim was a Business Representative for the United States Chamber of Commerce until being recruited by Gibbs Landscape Company in November of 1987 as Sales/Account Manager. In August of 1990 Tim left to take up his duties as Co-Owner and Vice-President of Genesis Landscape Group, Inc. A sales/service oriented person, Mr. Schoeff has received intensive training and education in the green industry.

Our goal was to change our back yard, with some drainage issues and no appeal, to a place where we could get together with family and friends, enjoy the view, and increase the value of our house and yard. After the initial visit they put together a plan and a scale drawing. We now have a patio, firepit, no water issues, a lawn and beautiful plantings.

After having an issue with another landscape company, Genesis made it a point to take care of my concerns and make them right. Their process, communication, punctuality, and final product exceeded my expectations. I have referred several colleagues, friends, and family to GLG and will continue to do so. If you're looking for a great company who cares about the customer, attention to detail, and their final product looking it's best, look no further.

A horrible company to work for. If you're a landscaper, stay away from genesis. They will simply fire you after a couple of months so they can cycle through employees and they don't have to give them vacation time or any benefits. The management also enjoys making fun of and degrading their employees. I'm surprised they haven't gone out of business yet.

Tim Schoeff made the initial appointment with me for the very next morning and did not show up. He contacted me, was apologetic and made a subsequent appointment which he showed up for. He drafted a contract and got it to me a week later. I signed and returned it, never heard back from him. I left a follow up voicemail a week later that was not returned.
He made a point in the beginning to mention the company contracts he had and how they keep him busy. it was the excuse for missing the initial appointment. If Genesis is not interested in doing business with homeowners, they shouldn't waste people's time. I found Tim to be unreliable and negligent. I would not recommend them.

These guys are awesome. They are very professional and they take care of the customer. The design build process was smooth. Tim came out and looked at our area, threw out some ideas and a week later he came back out with a full scale drawing (that he did by hand) and it exceeded my expectations. The final product was amazing. Cant wait for phase two!
