Roger, Anthony and team were excellent! From estimate to job completion, they were honest, courteous and fair. The level of quality was exceptional and their work made my house look better than it has looked in years. Highly recommend Big River Lawn and Landscape!

We needed a complete refresh for our landscaping at our townhouse. Roger and his associates removed the old stuff, leveled the area and designed and planted new materials. They even replanted a few of the better surviving plants in the backyard. Prior to design, Roger took my wife and me to several places that he services. What great service! The job looks great and he has stopped by a couple of times just to check if the plants are doing well. Highly recommended.

Working with Roger and his crew has been an absolute pleasure! The first time we contacted him, it was to cut our badly neglected lawn. Life was busy, and when I say our lawn was between one and two feet tall, it was not an exaggeration. Roger and his crew scheduled us for a one time cut, and it made a HUGE difference--both to the look of our backyard as well as to our sanity.

This year, I couldn't think of anything better to get my husband for Father's Day than a summer without mowing the grass. Roger was extremely responsive and helpful in figuring out the details of a Father's Day gift certificate for my husband. After getting so many no shows for an estimate or no call backs, I figured Id try one more time. So I contacted Big river Lawn & Landscape. I got a response the same day, and an estimate the next day. After receiving the estimate I asked when could this be done. I was told it would start Monday or Tuesday of the following week which was only 3-4 days after receiving the estimate.

They showed up at 9 am in the morning and they were done the same day. I was given detailed instructions on how to take care of the sod so it doesn't not die. A fertilization program was also included in my price and instructions were given to me on when that will start. I was very happy with the service and will be using this company again in the near future!

Dealing with Roger and his team is a pleasure. This was our first year with them and our experience couldn't be better; professional, responsive, on time and excellent quality work. As long as we live here, we will be working with them.

Extremely happy with the work Roger and his team did. We are doing a DIY re-landscaping project, and just needed someone to do the heavy work of removing old shrubs and cutting out sod to make new beds. Roger responded immediately to our inquiry, gave us a reasonable estimate, and was back in less than week to do the job. Even though he was only doing a small part of the project, he gave us lots of good advice to help us out. Great work.

My neighbors yard always put mine to shame. So I contacted Big River Lawn after discovering they were responsible for my neighbor's gorgeous landscaping. The owner, Roger, came out to my home the next day and listened to my concerns about my yard and instantly understood what I needed. His quote was extremely reasonable for what I needed and wanted done. Roger told me when to expect his crew and they showed up on time. Roger was onsite for the removal of my shrubs and trees.

I agreed to trust his creative intuition when it came to the design of my yard and to the variety of plants being used. I am beyond happy with how it turned out. Clean lines, pretty and colorful, low maintenance. everything I wanted. It's also worth noting that Roger's crew is exceptional. The gentlemen were friendly, communicative, and happy. It makes me happy to know that the laborer's on my property like what they do.

They were also very respectful of my property. They were clean with their work, did not smoke and did not leave a mess. (I've had workers at my other homes in the past leave a trail of empty water bottles, cigarettes or food packaging all over my yard.) I highly recommend Big River Lawn & Landscape.

This company put new sod and a sprinkler system down for us. We paid him 4,000 cash for this. He promised to put all the treatments down for "free". My lawn looks like crap in 3 months becasue our lawn was never treated! When my husband spoke to one of if guys the response was and I quote, "we don't treat lawns like regular companies". WTF does that mean.

When we held back payment until he would come and even look at the lawn he got very nasty with me and was harrassing me while I was traving to NY with my son for a surgery post op appointment. The bill we owed him for cutting was 170. we paid in $4000 AND DIDN'T GET THE SERVICE WE WERE PROMISED. I got harrassing text messages about leaving a check over and over. Never ever use this man he doesn't keep to his word.

Roger called me right back and came over the same day. We agreed on a price for Spring clean-up and mowing once a week, shook hands on it since he told me he doesn't write contracts. When the day came for mowing he had 3 of his men complete the job, but they never asked for a check or cash, they just drove off before I could pay them. I called Roger about this and never received a call back.

I persisted a couple days later but the answering service was shut off and no voice mail set up. I called his cell phone without an answer and left him a voice mail telling him he was FIRED for not being responsible and poor business practices. We never heard back from Big River. They turned out to be a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!

I can't say enough great things about this company. They are prompt, courteous, skilled at what they do and even EBill you for convenient paying. Between our fall cleanup and the lawn cut we had -our yard is ready for the next family holiday. I highly recommend them for all your lawn care needs. Wish I can give them more stars! Truly exceptional.

The only reason I'm giving him one star is because I have to in order to write this review. My mom has been a customer of his for her lawn. So we add her to his snow list. My mom was in the hospital so clearing her out Sunday was not a priority, however my brother called Roger on Monday to say my mom was being released. He told my brother his machine (why does he only have one) was down but "come hell or high water if it wasn't fixed he would send his guys with shovels to clear the way".

Well guess what he not only did not show up nor his guys but didn't have the common courtesy to call to let us know he couldn't make it. My brother had to drive an hour, I'm in no shape to shovel snow but we needed to do it so the car with my mom could get into the driveway and we could get her into the house. I will do my best to make sure no one uses him again

Called this man several times for snow removal this last blizzard. After scheduling us in for noon one day, he didn't return any of our calls until hours later saying his big snowblower was broken and his mechanic had to take apart to figure out problem. He then promised to be out later that night but was crying in distress about having other clients that needed removal before our scheduled appointment.

We allowed him a final grace and rescheduled for the morning. As we got out of work in the morning, we received a text from him saying that he cannot come do the job without a reason why. Unprofessional, untrustworthy, and from the other reviews, I can see he has to have the last word for attempting to defend himself.

Roger and his crew have transformed the front of our home from a garden filled with weeds to a clean, refreshing look that compliments our home. We have a very small budget to complete the front and the area around our pool in the backyard. Roger and his crew are working around our schedule and budget and we couldn't be happier. We have found OUR landscaper! Another very pleasant note is Roger and his crew are not only professional, but also friendly and courteous and speak English fluently.

I written a review, but am editing it due to being receiving messages and emails that i will be sued from the company's attorney. This review will be less of "he say she say". Big river lawn landscaping did not do the job that we expected. When we got home from work and saw the work that was done on our lawn we were disappointed. We called the company, Roger, on the phone several times and left voicemails.

We paid upfront. We received no response. Never a phone call. Finally, he answers an email 2 days later and tells us to leave him alone and we are trying to get free service. ---- unprofessional business who will not answer phone calls stay away.

They called us back the same day and came to do the job within the time frame that we needed. They were accommodating, reliable and reasonably priced. We look forward to using them again for additional landscaping services.

Last year I hired Roger to take care of my miserable yard. He told me not to expect much the first year because you can't fix your grass problems until the Fall. The Fall came, he seeded and did whatever it is he does and told me that he would fertilize in the early Spring and my grass would look great. He was absolutely right. My grass looks awesome.

It's greener that it's ever been and it's thick and feels so nice it makes me want to lie down and take a nap. Roger does great work and never promised anything he didn't deliver. I recommend him all the time, and I don't recommend very many people.

Please beware of this landscaper, Roger Bonsante. Big River Lawn came to my home and gave me an estimate on my landscaping project. Roger and I agreed on a price and I have him a deposit of $600. He told me that he would complete the job that very same week however he never showed up. When I tried to call him he would not pick up his phone. He text messaged me (very professional as you can see) to stop calling him.

I went to the police and told them I was going to his home to ask for my deposit back because he was not picking up his phone. The police told me I could be arrested for trespassing, can you believe it, I could be arrested for trying to get back something that was stolen from me. I needed to file a police report for theft of service and a complaint with the court to attempt to get my deposit back.

Now I wait for my court date and see if I can ever get my deposit back. It has been an eye opening experience for me. If you note on Big River Lawn's website, business cards, and receipts he claims to be fully licensed and insured however his license expired on 12/31/2007, you can check this yourself on the NJ Consumer Affairs website, the license # is 13VH02438800. Do not go through what I have been through, DO NOT USE BIG RIVER LAWN & LANDSCAPE.

I called 13 landscaping companies for an estimate. Two showed up. The first guy to show up was 3 days late when I wasn't home. He left an estimate that didn't include most of what I ask for on the phone and the way the estimate was written was very unprofessional, as if a child wrote it.
Mr. Bonsante showed up 10 minutes early. He asked a lot of questions that I hadn't even though of and made some excellent suggestions that are not only going to look better than my original ideas, they are a lot less expensive. Mr. Bonsante is a true professional, is prompt, polite and the most knowledgable landscaper I have ever met. In my opinion you should go directly to the pro. This man is the real deal people. Mr Roger Bonsante, my New Lawn Guy!

We called Big River Lawn for some shrub trimming and mulch. Roger showed up immediately, and put us on the schedule for THE NEXT DAY! We were very impressed with both the quality of the work and the timely fashion in which it was done. The price was fair and we found Roger a pleasure to deal with.

I used Big River Lawn last season for some shrub trimming and mulching. I currently was using another lawn service, but they didn't have time to get to the additional work i needed.
Roger was very prompt and did an excellent job for us at a fair price. We were very happy, and arranged to have big river as our new lawn service as well. Very pleasant and easy to deal with. We high recommended him.

Roger has been providing lawn service at our home in Old Bridge NJ for the last four years. Our lawn has become one of the finest in the neighborhood. When Roger took over, our lawn was basically a disaster. The last few services we hired were unable to identify and control the weeds and insects that were destroying our lawn year after year. Roger came in and renovated the lawn. he was able to diagnose, form a program and watering schedule that has taken care or our specific lawn problems.

We no longer have problems with weeds and insects and our lawn stays looking beautiful and healthy year round. We are happy with Roger's services and are very confident in his ability. In addition to his work ethic we have had the pleasure of speaking with him on several occasions. We find him to be pleasant, polite, trustworthy and an all around decent human being. We would recommend his services to anyone who asks.

We have contracted with Big River Lawn & Landscape to take total and complete care of our lawn and landscaping needs. Our lawn was in terrible shape. We had previously used two other outfits, who basically overcharged us, did not show up, and our lawn was still a mess.

Roger Bonsante came in, assessed what had to be done, explained it to us, gave us an extremely reasonable price, and we agreed to let him to do the work.

I must say we were very skeptical at first, having been through two inadequate lawn care services already, but he delivered what he promised. He came when he said he would. He charged what he said he would charge. He did exactly what he said he was going to do. Our lawn looks 1000 percent better than it ever did. He's a man of honesty and integrity and not afraid of hard work. It's very obvious he cares much about his work product, and in this day and age, that's very, very rare. We absolutely recommend him very highly.

When I moved into my Old Bridge home in 2004 the yard was awesome. The grass was plush and green, the shrubs were impeccably trimmed, and the landscaping was really gorgeous. It was a big reason we bought the house. Well it's 2011 and my yard is a disaster. As hard as it is for me to admit, I am one of those guys who has to first see if I can do it myself, and when I finally break something, in this case my yard, I call somebody to fix the mess.

My wife knew Roger Bonsante from seeing him on her daily dog walking route. Roger takes care of her client's yard and it's one of the nicest I've seen in the area. She asked him if he could stop by to look at our yard and when. The first shock was that he actually showed up. I'm amazed when people set an appointment to gain a new customer and then don't show up.

Why be in business if you're not going to show up? Next, when he did show up, he was 10 minutes EARLY. I nearly had a heart attack. In my personal experience this does not happen. I was already impressed with Roger's reliability, but what about my yard? That was my real concern.

Roger immediately started to walk around our yard asking questions and taking notes.

After a few minutes Roger explained to us what he recommended for our lawn, shrubs, outdated landscape, and even our Holly and Evergreen trees. He also recommended adding some flowers to improve our curb appeal and really was able to help us paint a mental picture of how great everything will look when he's done. He was also very honest with us about how long and what it will take to get our yard back to beautiful. Roger's honesty, reliability, extensive knowledge, and obvious passion for his work gave us the confidence to trust him with our yard's appearance.

Having met Roger and because we have seen his work first hand, we know that Roger Bonsante is the right man for the job and we have already recommended Roger to three of our neighbors who need a little yard help themselves.
