I started out growing flowers and installing sprinkler systems at a local high school, I then finished it and started a company doing landscape curbing in 2005. In 2006 I saw the need to provide the totoal landscaping package to save homeowners not only time but money too. I found that offering all of the services through one firm was more beneficial to the customer. Now Advant-Edge has expanded its operations with 3 divisions curbing, landscape construction and Landscape maintenance where we now handle all aspects of landscape construction and maintenance for residential clients as well as businesses. Then in 2007 Advant-Edge expanded yet again. We purchased a local nursery which is now called Advant-Edge Nursery located in Peoria were we own and operate our nursery and grow most of our own nursery stock.

Ryan and his crew did a great job on my backyard. From pavers around my pool, to artificial grass and a putting green and finishing it all off with the landscaping rock we are finally enjoying our yard. From start to finish everyone was professional - schedules were kept and met. The guys were helpful, courteous and knowledgeable about their jobs and products.

Critical: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness Ryan is the worst poin of contact that I have ever dealt with. It took 7 months to start the project when I paid in full to get it started in 1 month. It has been 6 months since they were here last, and my project is still 90% complete. Don't waste your time or money on this company.

Last year I contacted this company to do landscaping for my backyard. They came to my house, got me a quote and worked with me fairly quickly until I signed the agreement with them and paid a 50% deposit. After that there was zero communication from them unless I reached out every couple of weeks to check on where they were at with scheduling. Their response was always a vague, we are working on other things right now and will get to your project soon.
After 3-4 months of this their responses turned into medical/COVID issues with staff and trying to figure it all out. After a few more weeks of this I asked to cancel the project and requested a refund of my deposit, knowing I would possibly have to pay some sort of fee. Their response was always, we need to talk to the owner and will get back to you, which then turned into no response.
I tried calling the office, emailing the office, calling and texting the guys that I had been in contact with previously and got nowhere with it. I had paid the deposit with my credit card and that was the only leverage I had. I disputed the charge with my CC company as "service not provided". The response from Advant-Edge to the CC company was that the charge was valid and services were provided.
I sent all communication documentation and time stamped pictures of my backyard showing that it was still a dirt lot and my CC company refunded the charge. I even stated in the dispute that I was willing to work with them but wasn't getting any response from them.

Do business with them at your own risk. They have owed me money since last summer for renting equipment from a company I own. They don't answer their phones, don't respond to emails and when they do they tell you that they will pay the bill but don't. It's excuse after excuse. There are so many reputable landscaping companies to work with instead of these dirtbags.

Does anyone ever answer the phone at this business? I tried 5 times, various days, over a two week period. Appears they want you to leave them a message first and they'll get back to you as they see fit. I'm a bit confused as to this type of business model as it obviously does not work. Plenty of other Curbing companies in Phoenix to choose from. Tisk tisk.

Critical: Professionalism, Punctuality, Responsiveness If I could leave a ZERO star I would! NON RESPONSIVE! Paid a very large deposit in March of 2021 - and now have a yard that is still tore up! Ryan is full of excuses and now will NOT respond! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY! Services: Paving, Masonry repair & maintenance, Structural

My experience was with Ryan, and just like many of the other reviews, they lack proper communication, provide poor customer service and have inappropriate job planning - I waited 5 months for pavers that were not worth the experience. Felt my project was disregarded and not followed up unless I called them asking for a status or until I requested a refund but when it came time for final payment they even offered to pick up personally. I definetely do not recommend them.

I contacted these people to have them come out weeks ago because my sister-in-law has known the owners since she was in grade school and highly suggested them. Well, they came up with excuses as to why the missed the appointment and blamed it on me saying I didn't give a phone number or confirm the appointment, which I did. When someone finally comes out, he is here two minutes, tells us he will get us the design by the next day and that it was my fault for him not having my number to call, and we would be set. Well, it has been nearly 5 days since this and I haven't heard anything.
Who designs a backyard landscape in 2 minutes? People who aren't actually wanting your business. Decided to do everything ourselves and would give a zero star if possible. I do not recommend at all!

We called Advant-Edge to have our back yard redone and they where excellent. They changed our curbing, installed pavers, block planters and redid the sod grass. Their crew was professional and when they were finished for the day everything was always cleaned up. We could not be more happier with David Bell and his crew from Advant - Edge and we highly recommend them.

I can't comment on the quality of their work, but their customer service needs major improvement, especially if they want to be successful as a business. They came out over a week ago to give me a bid on landscape lighting and stacked stone accents. 8 days later and still no estimate. A voicemail left and a text message sent with no response. They've already lost the bid for the uplighting since I had someone out that gave me a quote the same day, and I won't be using them for the stacked stone. If I have to chase a business down for an estimate, I can imagine actually working with them would be a nightmare with no communication, or if something went wrong.

Had family in town to help out in artificial turf on our own. After we had calculated our time effort and money we said well we might as well quote the real professionals. I sent a Facebook message to advantedge and they responded in 15 minutes was able to rough quote on square footage I had and a picture. Settles on the deal and his team was out the next day had job completed in less than 3.5 hrs for a 15x44 foot lay down.
Even cut some door mats for us with the extra, clean up was great and whole crew was very polite and professional has I have a father in law from the Midwest who not only wants to learn but wants to inspect everything. especially when he's in his overalls ha ha. Well done and will be recommending them to everyone? 5/5 for sure!

Do I like the job they did for my yard? Yes. But everything else was a huge pain. Ryan came out quickly and got me an estimate and I paid the deposit. Since my job was "small" they didn't put me on the schedule and would pop over to do it between bigger jobs. Ok, that's cool, I get it. Fast forward two months and I had no yard. Whenever I called the office, it went to voicemail and the mailbox was full.
I emailed Kristi multiple times but she responded once and did not follow through. The only way to get ahold of anyone over there is to call Ryan on his cell phone, he seems to be the only responsive one. Invoice on 7/23 and yard finally completed on 10/22 and only because I was persistent. So I gave Ryan the final check and it was cashed the next day.
Now I get a text that I need to pay my invoice? Are you serious? I was just not going to post a review, but the invoice is the straw that broke the camels back. The work was satisfactory, but the headache of getting it done is not worth it.

A year after moving into my new Glendale home I had yet to address my 1200 sq. ft. dirt backyard. This gave me a chance to watch how the builder had designed rainfall to drain across the backyard, resulting in pools of mud that never seemed to dry. Hand-watering my tree and shrubs resulted in more mess. I needed help in gaining control over my yard!
Much research led me to Advant-Edge, a local family-owned business with a "Hardscaping and Irrigation Systems" license. The owner, David Bell, came over to my house in early January to scope out the yard, listen to my vision, and watch videos of rainwater drainage issues. David proposed burying a 6" pipe across my yard to better direct the drainage.
He also proposed burying a drip irrigation system (to water all of my plants) and tying it in to my existing Hunter system used for the front yard. Finally, we discussed the advantages of using pavers, artificial turf, and rocks to give me a low-maintenance, well-drained yard. I was impressed that the Belgard paver company had awarded a "Master Craftsman" certification to Advant-Edge!
Later that day, with measurements and product preferences in hand, David sent me a contract to review. His contract is lengthy and all-inclusive. I read it and sent a list of questions to better understand his recommendations and the workflow. He took the time to respond to each question. I signed the contract with no concerns, because: 1) David is smart, and kind, and is proud of his well-regarded local business; 2) David trains AND retains his crew, who know what they are doing without constant oversight; 3) David did not try to "upsell" to costlier products that I did not want or need; and, 4) David takes on projects of all sizes, and I sensed that he would not minimize my smaller project.
Then I sat back and waited my turn in the queue. (This is important to understand: because of all of the above factors, Advant-Edge juggles numerous projects at once (just as a home builder does). David does not over-promise, nor does he hire a bunch of temporary, minimally trained workers who would prioritize speed over quality. Further, each time it rains, all projects are moved back, because the ground needs to be dry to do much of the work - this is spelled out in the contract.) Once the project started in early March and materials were delivered, the workers maximized every dry day, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. And, boy did they work!
They carted tons of material (rocks and pavers and pipes) from the driveway to the backyard. I never heard them complain - they just worked. The crews swept the driveway and picked up trash before they left every day. The final walk-through was on March 31. I sent a list of questions the night before, and each was answered. There were no lingering issues that needed attention or repairs.
The plantings were already being nourished by the irrigation system. I was (and am) so happy with the final product and look forward to enjoying my new backyard! David takes care of his customers, employees and his community. As Covid-19 became a growing threat to his community, he organized and held a mammoth giveaway of food, cleaning and paper supplies at his Peoria warehouse.
He has shared lists of local businesses that need our business. He even asked me if I needed him to pick up anything from the grocery store while he was there. Support your local businesses! (On a personal note: To those who seem to write negative and mean reviews in general, I urge you to fully read your contracts, understand that no company can control the weather, accept that the world really doesn't revolve around you, learn that communication is a two-way street, and acknowledge that quality work takes longer than shoddy work. Your need for drama is not endearing.)

Got a hold of David Bell @ Advant-Edge because I had hired JW Landscaping to do the decking for our pool. 10 weeks later, after catching the crew peeing in my yard, and saying something to them.they walked off the job, and threatened my husband. I put it out on Facebook for someone to help me quickly. I had no less than 10 people who gave me Davids' name.and he himself came on the site and said he could help me.
He literally sent out a guy 2 days later, that got the job done in 2 days. (What would of taken a week with the other company) I 100% regret NOT hiring David and his company to do the job in the first place. His guys do awesome work!

I have nothing but incredible things to say about Advant-Edge. We met with David at a community event, raising money for a heart for a young child. After just a few moments of talking with him, we knew right then and there that these were our guys. Bottom line, David and his crew are amazing! They nailed what we were looking for right from the start. Minimilistic.
Clean lines and low maintenance. When I first emailed about our project, they were very quick to respond and came out to give us a quote a few days later. After developing the plan, we got a 3D walk through and they presented a detailed proposal for our review. I am very meticulous and combed through every line item - one at a time. We had another contractor that became frustrated with my questions, but not David.
He remained calm, cool and collected throughout the process. Despite being the busy owner and having a very tasked daily schedule, and managing his landscaping business, David never hesitated to make himself available to us. We were having another contractor do the pool in the backyard and there were some things that they hadn't presented so the quote included options of some additional features for the backyard - but he never pressured us into adding something we didn't feel comfortable with.
The entire team is great and we always had answers whenever we made contact with the office. This is a family business so you never know which of his relations will either answer the phone or show up on the job site and this is something I can get behind! This quote was in the middle price range between quotes we received from 4 other companies. But David won us over with his professionalism, personality, and confidence in his abilities to make our backyard look great!
The end price ended up being $15,500, which was right at our budget we had in mind. The workers were the friendliest guys, very trust worthy, which made me feel confident and comfortable with them working on my yard for the next week or so. T David educated us on plants that were kid and animal friendly, low maintenance, etc. allowing us to make an educated decision on what to install.
He knows his stuff when it comes to plants and trees! We absolutely love the work they did and couldn't be happier with the final result. We used to dread coming home to what we had, but now we look forward to it!

The end price ended up being $15,500, which was right at our budget we had in mind. The workers were the friendliest guys, very trust worthy, which made me feel confident and comfortable with them working on my yard for the next week or so. T
David educated us on plants that were kid and animal friendly, low maintenance, etc. allowing us to make an educated decision on what to install.
He knows his stuff when it comes to plants and trees! We absolutely love the work they did and couldn't be happier with the final result. We used to dread coming home to what we had, but now we look forward to it!
They turned our back and front yard from dead grass to a beautiful space with a time crunch! They weren’t afraid to communicate and did not overpromise....but they definitely did over deliver! Thank you so much for all the hard work! We will be back for any future needs and sending all our friends their way!

I would like to personally thank this company for their offered generosity to the families of the Granite Mounain Interagency Hotshots. Their willingness to give of their services at the deployment site was very much appreciated. I had continuous contact with them for over 1 year via facebook and they were always very prompt with their response. I did turn their informaton over to the planning committee and therefore am not sure of the outcome BUT I am very sure of their heart and professionalism. Thank you!

Contacted A-E Advant-Edge for a quote and met with Dan Plunk. Dan is very knowledgeable with all aspects of landscaping. The crew is amazing and did a fantastic job on my front and backyard. Any issue we had was completed to our satisfaction. Owner David Bell knows his business and is a pleasure to work with. We could not be happier. We made the right choice by choosing A-E Advant-Edge.
