Top Choice Lawn Care

I just canceled my service due to the lack of support. I asked Top Choice if they offered service to spray and kill weed, and they subcontracted another company to come spray my yard. Within 3 days my grass turned yellow and the grass was dead. When I asked what happened they told me to reach out to the subcontractor. When I called the sub they said that the grass caught a fungus from Top Choice lawn mower blades.

I then contacted Top Choice to ask what happened they denied it was them who caused this issue. "FYI my grass was totally green up until 3 days after the weed spray". Either way I asked what they can do to help, "maybe fertilizer" and they said they would get back to me. When they responded it was with a invoice for over $100 to fix the damage they caused. In my opinion they should of covered that instead of trying to charge me for something that wasn't my fault.

Liz and her team did a fantastic job designing and adding a giant bed in our backyard with native plants and flowers. Despite the 100F+ weather, the team worked diligently to complete the job in just 2 days. The stone border is impeccable. They are very professional and addressed all questions and issues promptly. They were able to come out quickly and helped determine the issues with my irrigation system to make sure that my newly planted trees could survive the hot Texas summer. This is a top tier service minded company. Willing to go above and beyond the expectation of your average lawn care company. They are also highly communicative and have a fully staffed customer service team eager to assist your lawn needs and questions to the best of their ability. My lawn has never looked better and they taken the stress of lawn maintenance off my plate. I am glad companies like this exist, good on you Top Choice, aka The Only Choice (worth making).

Working with Liz on the Landscape Design team was an amazing experience. We were looking to do a revision to our flower beds, and Liz made it easy. We were able to change the plants to more drought resistant native plants recommended by Liz, and also able to change the shape / design to better meet our needs. Throughout the process, Liz was a strong communicator, working to meet our needs -- and our budget!

In the end we couldn't be more pleased. The team was onsite for two days and were highly efficient with their time. All of the work team was professional and worked to keep the job on track. At the end of the job, even the yard surrounding the beds was in better shape than when they started. They were highly detail oriented and kept the workspace clean. I'd love to work with Liz and team again and would recommend them to anyone!

We had an amazing experience with Top Choice Lawn. Our repair man, Johnny, went above and beyond to help us with our irrigation system, which broke due to the freeze last year. We had issues with a large tree root, so Johnny worked with us to create a plan to make things right without sacrificing the tree root. Great communication and feedback the entire time. Johnny also provided some recommendations due to an ant issue we have in our yard. Much appreciated! Great service and professional!

Changing my review here to 5 Stars based on Nolan's response to my initial review: he's 100% owning the prior issues, clearly communicating course of action and being proactive to find an agreeable solution. True test of any business is how they respond to a problem and Nolan receives 100% and 5 Stars for that! The Top Choice team came out and did a great job aerating our lawn.

Top choice is awesome. They have the most responsive office staff and do a great job. They're so quick to reply to emails and answer questions and have a great scheduling process with predictable service. We came home last week and the yard looked amazing! Even though we just had regular service, they'd gotten rid of the massive piles of leaves all around the yard. It looked amazing!

We've had 3 services performed by Top Choice in the past month: aeration, paver install, and irrigation check. All 3 projects were done either on time, or earlier than anticipated. The paver project looks awesome. They took great care to get everything lined up. The irrigation specialist was friendly and helpful. He pointed a problem that likely needs attention but didn't try a hard sell. Looking forward to our next round of service from Top Choice.

We've had Top Choice maintain our lawn for a year and our yard looks great. We worked with them to update existing beds and they look beautiful! Liz was our designer and she was great to work with- very responsive. She knows a lot about Texas native plants and how to make our beds easy to maintain. She helped us pick out a great assortment of plants.

The crew was very professional, did a great job and cleaned up so well when they were finished with the work. We've received so many compliments for our neighbors and definitely recommend Top Choice for landscaping and lawn maintenance.

We just had sod installed in our back yard. From the bid to the time they drove off site, this crew was top notch. They clearly have a well groomed system of working parts. The installation crew showed up right on time, briefed us and answered questions, and then it was all business. Everyone knew what their role was and the teamwork was very fluid.

They did everything that they told us they would do and then in the end, they did a bit more. They did have a mishap and cracked a pvc line in the irrigation, but one call from them to the irrigation team, and that started a whole new dance. The irrigation team showed up with the same professionalism and got right to work. There were no fingers pointing and no arguing.

They just got right to work to fix the problem. Then they too went beyond the call of duty and replaced some sprinkler heads and adjusted water pressures to massage our inadequate system back to an operable state. These guys care about what they do and don't hesitate to go the distance. It's clear that they do everything reasonable to keep the great reputation that they have in check. Thanks y'all! Great job!

Derrick and Johnny (Top Choice)are irrigation experts! In less than an hour they corrected serval of my irrigation issues. I can highly recommend their services. They were effective and reasonably priced. If you need to have your irrigation system tuned up, look no further. I could not have made the repairs any cheaper if I did them myself.money well spent. They exceeded all my expectation!

My husband and I recently purchased an older home with an original 1950s irrigation system. We noticed some issues with our irrigation system and had the Top Choice Lawn Care team, Derrick and Eric, come to check it out. They were quickly able to diagnose and solve our issues, which will end up saving us lots on our monthly water bill. They were amazing, and I absolutely recommend them. I also use Top Choice for lawn mowing, lawn care, and our garden beds and shrubs maintenance. They are consistent, dependable, and responsive. Really great business!

I just had James and Derrick from the irrigation team come by to fix a gate which was accidentally knocked off the hinges by the lawn crew. Top Choice handled the matter extremely well and professionally. When I reported what had happened they sent a manager out to inspect the damage. About a week or so later, James and Derrick came by and fixed the gate as good as new. My point is not that the gate was broken. Accidents happen. They took responsibility for it and the necessary steps to correct it. That's what I appreciate.

My experience at Top Choice has been one of upmost quality in their professional advise and critiques about my yard and my landscaping. They were accurate in their quotes and in their pricing and went above and beyond in their response time to my questions and concerns. I just hired Top Choice last week to take care of my lawn maintenance. It has been obvious over the last several days that there was a problem with my irrigation system. Derrick came out today and took care of the issue and checked my system. Great customer service from start to finish. I always felt valued. Derrick was awesome and worked so hard solving the problems with my irrigation system. Derrick came by this morning to map out our backyard irrigation system for a tree install and do a system check up. He was extremely helpful and personable and treated us like his friends, not just another customer. We have been using Top Choice for a couple years now for our routine lawn maintenance needs (mowing, etc). Today was the first time we used them to repair our irrigation system. Derrick and Brady were amazing! They were courteous, professional, helpful, and easy to talk to and understand. They took the time to explain the issues and remedies. James came out today for our irrigation & lawn aeration service, and was knowledgable and helpful in explaining options for repair and upgrade of my irrigation system.

We had the initial diagnostic meeting for our irrigation system with Derrick and Maxon. We knew we had a system, at least one broken head and where the controller was, but not much more. They did their diagnostic work and explained the issues we had and laid out some alternative approaches. You got a strong feeling of competence from their professional way of both checking out the system and explaining it to us.

We had a leak in our irrigation system for years, and I finally called someone to fix it. The leak is now fixed, along with a bunch of other issues I didn't know about. The price was way less than the water I wasted for years. I wish I had done it earlier. These guys seem knowledgeable, proficient and honest.

Derrick and James arrived on time and did exactly what we needed them to do, cap a buried sprinkler line that was no longer needed. Derrick discussed our whole irrigation system and is developing a plan to add a few more heads along 2 different parts of our yard that have been neglected. Thanks for your help today! They are very responsive and do what they say they are going to do and then some. This week I also needed help with my sprinkler system. I recently became a Top Choice customer and have been pleased with their service so far. I also hired them for a debris cleanup service after the Austin winter storm Uri. They are professional and do a good job of removing leaves and clippings with mow service.

Originally I used top choice for some work didn't really meet my expectations. The owner of top choice reached out and really wanted to make things right. After dealing with a variety of other companies who cared more about upselling than doing a good job I decided to give top choice another shot. Derrick came out today to help with my irrigation system.

Eight years prior to this review, a snaggletoothed hair-gelled crook revealed his true place in nature's hierarchy by selling and installing a deeply flawed sprinkler system fraught with the increased likelihood of leaks due to shoddy workmanship. Fortunately, this was installed by a business that when faced with a judgement as sum of its parts, it deservedly caved to an ignominious ending into the annals of bankruptcy, many years ago.

Enter Gary Mizell, the venerable king of Austin irrigation: It was Ralph Waldo Emerson who wrote, "An institution is a lengthy shadow of one man." And so it was with the Top Choice Lawn Care irrigation division, the vision of one Gary Mizell, the genius irrigation specialist who resurrected the Lazarus corpse of my sprinkler system this week. He fixed it in a jiffy and left far too soon. I would have enjoyed more conversation with his gem of a personality.

They responded quickly to my call, and were very honest about what they did and didn't do. They gave me honest feedback on what was best for my soil in my part of town, and set expectations very clearly and frankly. In dealing with home services businesses, this is the most important aspect of dealing with customers. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for ongoing maintenance or project work.

I've always done my own lawn work and have been very cautious about letting anyone else lay a finger on my precious blades of grass, but last fall we had a lot of leaves in the yard, and I'd just hurt my back. Took a big risk (in my mind) and called Top Choice - had these guys come by and they picked up every last leaf. Their not 'Top Choice' they are the ONLY choice in town

I have noticed they always do the little, finishing details better than other services and they consistently outperform my expectations. I can always talk to someone if I need to and I have never had any kind of issue whatsoever. I am very satisfied with Top Choice.

I don't typically write reviews but this service is one worth noting. I gave them a call recently to get an estimate on tree trimming, and I was blown away by the customer service to follow.They promptly had someone come by and look at trees and within the day they had emailed me not only my tree estimate, but an estimate for lawn care. The next day they gave me a call to follow up on the estimate and they were as friendly as can be.

I decided to switch to them for my lawn care and they have been incredibly reliable. They handle everything professionally and diligently and I wouldn't recommend anyone else for any landscaping or gardening needs.

I have been using Top Choice for several years now and they do a great job! They maintain my lawn (turf) on a regular schedule. They trim hedges and trees when requested (and a whole lot more). In fact, the request for service process is online and so easy. They respond quickly and paying for services is hassle free. If you are busy, have an active life and don't want to lose free time to law work, Top Choice is the way to go!

Top Choice Lawn Care did an amazing job cleaning up my yard!! I had a major clean-up job of a large yard completed by Top Choice, including tree and shrub trimming, cutting off large unwanted tree branches, weed eating, removal of large amount of unwanted growth. They must have hauled away total of two large trailer load for disposal. (The amount the crew hauled away should tell you how much had to be cleaned up for sure.) Golden, office staff, and the crew that came out were all very professional and very easy to work with.

You can tell Top Choice takes pride in the quality of their work. They leave your yard in great condition everytime and it looks awesome!
