I do like this nursery for sure. Prices on some items are a bit lofty, such as basic potting soil and fertilizers. I simply stop in at Walmart for some of those things. As to the annuals, vegetable plants and herbs, this is my go-to. Of course, Calloways also has a nice family type of feel to the place and is a welcoming shopping experience.

Very well organized and well taken care of garden center conveniently located near the arboretum. I thought the prices were very reasonable and the selection of houseplants was a pleasant surprise. At this time of year it seemed to be mainly ornamentals but there were several tables of vegetable starts and a table of fruit trees and vines.

We were in the area and as a plant guy, there's no way I can drive by this store and not stop. There are an abundance of plants (both: indoor and outdoor plants) and flowers.. My favorite place to shop for plants. They have a great selection of succulents too, which are my favorite. The prices might be a little bit steep, but most other retail giants do not have the variety that this Callaway's Nursery has. I find products here that most other places don't have.

Safety Over Profits: Per a Calloway corporate representative, there are NO security cameras inside or outside at any of their locations. Customers should be able to feel safe where they shop. While shopping, my catalytic converter was stolen in the parking lot at their 7600 Greenville location. This time it was a very expensive car part stolen. The next time it could be an employee's or customer's life in danger.

I make it to Calloway's maybe once a year. When you have such a great plant selection at stores you visit more often (Lowe's, Walmart, etc.), it's hard to justify the sole trip and cost of Calloway's. Their product is certainly more expensive. BUT, it's a really lovely experience every time I visit, I've always found beautiful foliage, and the staff is helpful -- all that's worth a lot.
I really do enjoy strolling, reading about different plants, and breathing in the planty air. Recently we made a Calloway's trip with baby Winnie in tow, and we picked out a bunch of goodies. A Japanese maple tree (since my mother stole my other one), two astilbes, lavender, rosemary, sage, basil, geraniums, and an azalea. Each plant looked healthy on the shelves to start and is now thriving even more, happy at home in our backyard.

After reading reviews about this location, I decided to drive 50minutes to get shrubs and brushes. The manager Cliff was so knowledgeable of all the plants that he even helped me design my front yard by selecting all of the shrubs and brushes for me. He truly has a talent for art! Well he has a degree in art so that helps! I would highly recommend this location if Cliff is working that day!

I was looking for a Venus Flytrap Somehow I got obsessed with buying a Venus Flytrap plant but I wanted to take my time getting one with a good disposition. Some of them are mean and quick to snap. That led me to Calloway's Nursery which seems to be the only place that carries them this early in the growing season and at a reasonable price. My interaction with the staff was brief but positive. I'm vegetarian so I guess it's kind of weird I would be obsessed with buying a carnivore eating plant but enough of that.
I like being able to park very close to the front door and getting your business done without passing by endless aisles of lumber, piping and patio furniture only to find they don't carry Venus Fly Traps. Right now I'm in the process of teaching my Flytrap (Morris is it's name) to not be so discriminatory towards what type of insects it eats.
It seems to really enjoy eating fly's but often gives crickets a free pass. Hopefully Calloway's will consider getting in some of the other varieties of Flytraps so I can get another one to keep Morris company when I'm gone.

Calloway's Castaways! I had the experience of getting my wife her first plant container. We also purchased a tiny little mushroom steak we put in the pot. There were some photo OPP's. The place has semi-knowledgeable garden staff and beginner service advice. Keep the understanding that most of these guys have experience with lawn and garden plants.
There knowledge of (NPK) is minimal. There knowledge of indoor requirements is also minimal. They should probably fire the cashiers as they were only there gathering a pay check and as usual ignorant with no regard for customer service or human interaction. Barring that it was a great time for my wife as she begins her life. Wish their employed Mexicans were not so boring and hateful. AS USUAL! I wish they had to follow the same rules civilized people do- what a shame:(.

Calloway's Nursery is a great place to walk around look at and buy plants. This location is very nice great plants. Plenty to choose from. I like going here just to get ideas on what to plant. You can just walk around the store it is like being in a park. And smells nice. They have good sells sometimes and the regular prices are fair. I checked around and they are very competitive on the pricing.
You can also get items for the vegetable garden and yard work. Such as fertilizer and all kinds of poison to kill things. Calloway's has a good selection of ceramic pots. Try to get them on sale a good time is the fall or winter months not spring. I buy most of my tomatoes and peppers plants here in the spring. Great varieties of tomatoes and great price.
The service is fine there can be a line to check out on busy weekends during the spring. Just like all garden shops. You may have to find someone to help you if you have a question. They do not seem to walk around and ask you if you need help. I had to hunt down help a few times. But otherwise a great store check them out for plants.

Always such an impressive selection at Calloway's! The quality among the plants is also streets ahead of any of your small garden centers at other non-nursery department stores. I can't say I've actually compared prices, but I say quality is most important when it comes to living things. The staff here is also more knowledgeable than the aforementioned "competitors". I've always received a wise answer to my queries.

The employees at this location are incredibly pleasant and always eager to help. I look forward to my Calloway's shopping trips because I know the staff will do their best to help me out and provide a warm and friendly shopping environment every time. And of course I love every plant/herb/flower/bush/succulent/fly trap I've purchased. My garden is my pride and joy thanks to Calloway's! Plus I like to bring my dog along and she is always welcomed with open arms :

I have made 5 or 6 trips to this nursery so far. I have had great service. The people working are very knowledgeable about the plants. The prices are a bit high but if you want knowledgeable help you must pay them accordingly. They have a wonderful selection of pots and containers. Plants are well cared for. I have not had a single plant I purchased die. I will be buying more plants from them in the spring.

I've been here a number of times to supply the little container garden out on my balcony. The staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, but I get the impression that they may run a little short-staffed, so you may need to ask for help rather than wait for someone to come to you. It's not a problem, though - they're pretty easy to find, and are always willing to help. Don't be afraid to ask questions - I guarantee you that I have asked WAY more idiotic questions of these folks and have been answered with generosity and enthusiasm. It's a little pricey, but worth it for the healthy, quality plants you'll come away with, and the expertise of the staff. I've never bought a plant from here that didn't make it.
This place is also quite large - the flowers and other small plants are inside, but they have a large area or back for trees, bushes, and ground cover, and a decent-sized indoor area for the nicer pots, tools, and seeds. The selection is extensive, and they are generally grouped by type of plant - there's a section for tropicals, ground cover, succulents, edibles, roses, etc.
If you can't find something, just ask. It's a big place - there's no shame in not being able to find something yourself. I'm partial to the edibles, myself, which usually start to disappear around this time of year (April) and don't show up again until 2nd planting in summer. They also have a bunch of great pre-assembled container gardens, hanging baskets, succulent gardens, and so forth, in case you're not in a DIY mood and would rather just purchase and water.

No assistance offered or greeting given by the two people behind the counter or the man walking around the garden center, and i could see little rhyme or reason to the arrangement of the plants. Because I was in a hurry I never did find out if they had the succulent I came in for (string of pearls), but the plants did all around look healthy, which must account for the high price tag on the tiny pot sizes ($3 for 2inch high kalanchoe!). 3 stars for health of plants, terrible customer service meant I didn't find a healthy plant for my home.
