Services
Our outdoor areas are the extensions of our homes. Trees provide the backdrops, centerpieces and perfect accents to our landscapes. With proper care and nourishment our trees will continue to make our living spaces, both indoors and out, unique and beautiful for years to come. Our goal is to provide Boulder and the surrounding areas with outstanding personalized service and quality workmanship.
A common misconception is that pruning should only be performed at certain times of year. On most trees light pruning can be performed at any time. If heavy pruning is necessary it's best to avoid pruning during the spring growth flush. During this time excessive sprouting can occur, bark and cambium are easily damaged and the tree's energy reserves are at their lowest point. Once the leaves have hardened and turned dark green heavy pruning will be less stressful. One exception to this general rule are fruit trees.
Sometimes there is no other option other than removing the tree, we can help you decide when it is necessary. When it is necessary to remove a tree we have the experience and knowledge to get the job done safely. Using the proper equipment and techniques we will keep our team and your property safe, as well as minimize impact on surrounding vegetation.
Once a tree has been removed, we can grind the stump below grade. This prevent regrowth, allows the area to be re-landscaped, and eliminates a visual blemish or potential tripping hazard. We use barricades to contain the mess and to reduce the likelihood of flying debris. Sometimes pruning alone may not sufficiently reduce the hazard posed by a tree due to size or structural defect.

I employed Mountain Tree Care to remove two pairs of large aspens that were dead or dying. They were very prompt in getting back to me with a quote. The date was quite a long way in the future because of the demand for their work, but they duly arrived at the time and date promised and very efficiently removed the trees. The stumps were ground out the same day, and they tidied up after the removal.
The workforce that arrived knew exactly what they were doing, including some specific requirements I had mentioned when first booking the work. Overall I was very impressed with their professionalism, on-time arrival and efficiency. They were also very safety conscious, which I was pleased to see. I am very happy with the service they provided and would happily use them again.

Long story short, we had to get a Box Elder removed and needed it done quickly. Mountain Tree Care came right out and gave us an estimate and were able to get a crew out there to complete the job within a week. They did a fantastic job. Both Caleb and Jacob were prompt, professional, friendly, and did a great job cleaning up afterwards. There were some obstacles that made cutting the stump low difficult, but they took their time and got it lower than we even expected. I highly recommend Mountain Tree Care!

Aaron and his team were fantastic! I asked for some work on a quince bush, as well as taking down a dead pine tree. The work performed was extremely fast, looked outstanding, and the crew even showed up a little early! Absolutely fantastic people, very easy to work with, and well worth the money. I'll definitely be calling them again next spring.

I have worked with Aaron and Mountain Tree Care for over 8 years. We have an outstanding relationship and I value their work. First, the communication is outstanding. They are very responsive to email. I have had limbs break during storms and they were able to help very quickly. Second, Aaron is very knowledgeable about trees and what works best to promote their health and our privacy interests as the home owner.
We prefer to trim more often and maintain more privacy. This is an art form and he does a great job! We have columnar oak trees that struggle with the Colorado weather (late/early snowfall, hail, wind). Aaron does a great job of keeping these trees looking great especially after Mother Nature turns them into something goofy looking (think trees in a Dr. Seuss book).
They have done a great job of keeping our fruit trees happy and healthy. Third, they are very predictable. We schedule an appointment to assess our trees, make a plan for a summer pruning and a winter pruning. They keep the appointments and arrive on time. I highly recommend Aaron and Mountain Tree Care.

Aaron and his team are awesome! We live in the mountains and had several dead large trees very close to the house removed and also trimming up of some additional trees. They did an incredible job! The entire crew was very personable and professional and also did a wonderful job cleaning up all of the debris. Mountain Tree Care is an exceptional business and I would highly recommend their services!

I'm so incredibly happy with the work done by Mountain Tree Care. I had a very specific requirement (I needed trees removed and the stumps ground down to a certain depth for the planting of new trees). The team came out and provided a very clear and professional estimate. Once we scheduled the services, the team set up the 811 call to ensure the safety of their team and the surroundings, and advised me every step of the way, kept me up to date on progress and timing.
When the team came out to remove the trees, they were efficient and incredibly professional. They cleaned up absolutely everything and then made some recommendations on the new plantings. Couldn't be more happy with the work they did!

Recently I had the pleasure of working with Mountain Tree Care on a problem (or so I perceived it). I've had MTC trim various living woody beings at my house - trees, bushes, junipers, etc. - all with fine results. This summer they worked on an Austrian pine, but I was surprised and quite concerned about how much was trimmed off the bottom. Would some branches die? Was the tree stable now? (I'd never had a pine/spruce tree trimmed before, and it looked radical to me.) I sent an email expressing my concern and was pleasantly surprised when they responded immediately.
The very next day Caleb came out to look at the tree and to talk with me: he listened to my concerns, evaluated the tree, and then reassured me by helping me understand *how* all was really okay. He even stay a bit longer to offer advice about choosing a new tree for another area of my yard. That kind of prompt and courteous service is, unfortunately, not too common. I loved how respectful they were to me and how helpful they were in teaching me about trees. Kudos to Mountain Tree Care - they are tops in my book!

Aaron and his crew cut down a diseased elm for us and also trimmed some other trees. They were very professional, safe and cleaned up everything. Aaron's bid was very reasonable, I'm assuming it helps to own all your own equipment, as far as keeping the price down. I watched the entire process and from start to finish his crew took great care in cutting down a tree that was maybe 80 ft tall. I would highly recommend Mountain Tree Care!

Aaron and his crew at Mountain Tree Care were awesome! The entire crew were very conscientious when trimming our very mature trees. They took their time with each cut and were mindful of the type of trees they were trimming and trimmed each tree accordingly. They did a fantastic job cleaning up our yard and driveway before departing for the day. Our trees are happy and we are very happy! Hire these guys! You won't be disappointed.
