Ecoscape Environmental Design

Absolutely stay away from Ecoscape. We hired them to design the front garden of our house last summer because I have no knowledge of perennials and figured a designer would be a big bonus. The designer has no eye for aesthetic design. The execution was horrible. Spacing problems and now with one growing season it is so obvious that one side is completely overcrowded and the other side is much too thin.

There is no design. The one tree we purchased from them has awful structure. And worse of all, they chipped a large tile on the exterior of our house without reporting it to us. They are very unprofessional and do not be fooled by the fact that the have a designer. The manager is a great talker but the entire process was a complete nightmare. Now we have a garden that has to be redone because it's an absolute eye sore and damage to the exterior of our home. It was an exhausting and disappointing experience, all around. I can not emphasize enough, to do business elsewhere.

Ecoscape did a wonderful job on my yard. Sue has an encyclopedic knowledge of various plants and is able to design to the customer very well. I was super happy with how quickly and well the crew worked, and would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs landscaping work.

"I waited about four months to write a review - I wanted to see how well the design worked in my somewhat challenging yard and if the plants survived a hot summer. I have a south-facing small yard, expansive soils and it slopes - not a great scenario for lots of plants. The plants Ecoscape suggested are surviving and growing - in spite of hot summer.

Out of probably 30 plants, I've lost 3 - and had no issues with replacement. The conversion from pop-up irrigation to a totally drip system went well also. Staff were helpful and pleasant to work with, arrived when they said they would. They also clearly know xeriscaping - and were willing to educate me about caring for these new plants. When it came time to winterize the system, not only did they beat the cold snap, but they followed up as scheduled. Ecoscape also completed another small project in my back yard - and paid attention to maintaining my view while providing both shade and a more interesting space. Ecoscape has been good to work with. Working with Ecoscape was a great experience! They were responsive, flexible, and attentive to our needs. First, Ryan Spinharney came out and took the time to walk around with me, answering all my questions on the jobs we wanted done. However, since we live in Colorado, we had a heavy snowstorm in middle of April and had to reschedule. Ryan was able to work with me and his guys to squeeze in the work on our yard in a prompt manner.

When the crew came out, I met the foreman, Lance Scoggins. Again, he took the time to walk around the yard with me, showing me all that great work they had done and the next steps they would take. Clearly he had pride in the work they do. As that work is in my yard, I'm happy that drives their efforts. Thanks to the crew at Ecoscape!

EcoScape recently installed a full-scale garden in my front yard in North Boulder from soup to nuts. I planned the whole experience carefully with one of the company's senior designers months in advance. Ecoscape commenced work right when they said they would, they kept everything within budget and on schedule, and their crew is full of really nice folks who take great pride in their work.

I was also able to modify things as the project unfolded, and my ideas were integrated into the process throughout, which I really appreciated. I have a past career in landscape installation so I have a discerning eye. Everything Ecoscape did was high quality - design, masonry, rock placement, irrigation, fine tuning the details. I'm very pleased with the results 6 months after installation and would highly recommend Ecoscape.

EcoScape overhauled our residential landscaping, both front and rear. The resulting xeriscape was excellent and tasteful, which neighbors' comments echoed. Overall, the EcoScape team was professional in all respects. Sue (architect) was very nice to work with. She spent a great deal of time meeting with us, then with selecting, staging, and placement.

Her passion for botany, the environment in general (e.g., pollinators), and design really stood out. The crew was friendly, conscientious, and timely. They took pride in their work.

We hired Ecoscape to do a patio and side yard landscape 're-do' as they had excellent reviews but were also very Eco-minded' in their approach. Bill Melvin and his team came in with the desire to listen to our needs and design a project around our budget. We were absolutely impressed through the initial project review to completion. Bill, Andrew and the foreman Alex were great in communicating all aspects of the project from the many changes we asked them to implement, to designing a wonderful garden space.

When we asked them to complete a whole front yard project in addition, they allocated the time and the final product exceeded our expectations! We are now contemplating a back yard project next spring! Thanks Ecoscape!

The Ecoscape team did a phenomenal job installing the entire front yard with xeriscape plants and new hardscape paths, low walls and irrigation. They also built a beautiful pond and waterfall and raised vegetables and flower beds which brings lots of robins and bunnies to our yard. The irrigation work for the various garden rooms was complicated but is keeping all the plants and trees growing nicely. I would highly recommend Sue, Richard and the entire Ecoscape team. Nice, professionals who really want to make the world more beautiful through landscaping.

Ecoscape designed and landscaped my backyard this spring. The designer, Sue, "got it" - she understood what I was interested in and made great suggestions in line with my own plans. The installation took into account technical requirements of the site (grading, exposure) and combined it with artistic sensibility. The final result is beautiful and inviting, and provides a good foundation for additional plantings and improvements. The landscaping crew were super friendly and consistent day to day, and worked very hard to do professional quality work.
