Amos Arber of the Albuquerque Water Authority reminded us in his Gardening Seminar that a mature shade tree needs 300 gallons of water a week during the hottest part of the year, and WE NEED THOSE TREES in our urban forest. As Albuquerque reduced its per capita water use by 50%.

I went here to get grass seed for my lawn. The staff was honest and knowledgeable. I was told it's too late in the season to seed my lawn and to wait until late August. They didn't try to make a sale, they simply told me what I needed to do and genuinely cared. I left with some great information! Jericho is a great place to just walk around and look at all the beautiful plants. It's quiet and peaceful.
They have amazing pottery, too! It's a dirt parking lot so don't go in fancy shoes. There's usually water on the floors too as the plants are being taken care of. It's a great spot for all your gardening needs!

I am so happy and pleased with the selection and the prices. I've shopped all over town but kept shopping because I wasn't very impressed with the selection or the condition of the plants/flowers and prices were way to high. I finally ended up at Jericho and I can't express how happy I am. The selection is abundant and the prices are reasonable. Very happy with my experience and plan to go back once I get these in the ground.

Jericho had everything I was searching for: portulaca, black-eyed susan vine, acid green-colored sweet potato vine and spanish broom. Was the third nursery of the day. Osuna was mobbed and had overpriced items all over the place. (changed alot since Chang died.) Alameda Greenhouse was sparce and items I was interested were not yet for sale but visible in greenhouses:what's that about? SHOP LOCAL.Jericho is the place to go.

We recently had a wonderful experience at Jericho. I'm in a wheelchair, so I can't easily get around on gravel or dirt paths. Right after we parked, one of the employees came right to the car to see if we needed help or directions. We explained the problem and told her we had a list of bedding plants we were looking for. She took the list, found the plants, brought them to the car to see if they were what we wanted.
After she loaded the plants into the car, she lingered a bit just to visit, inasmuch as we had previous home locations in common. We left with our very satisfactory plants and a delightfully warm feeling that we'd made a new friend. Thanks, Jericho--we'll definitely be back!

I have always used this nursery. It is hard to manipulate around the store. Both my husband and I have shopped here for a long time and spent a lot of money at this business. I have asked to help us to get some plants in our car due to lifting restrictions well this lady behind the counter and she was snotty with such a bad attitude. She then told me I was not nice to her.
I wanted to just get some help with getting plants in car. Her attitude was bad her supervisors did nothing other than argue. All ADA-persons who need assistance this is not the store for you to go to. Many more nurseries and maybe someone who doesn't treat a customer poorly.

I spent over $100 on annual flowers, ranging in price from $4.99 to $7.99; three of each type for a total of 18 plants. In a week, at least one of each type were dead, despite watering. If I am equally watering all of them, it would seem that all the plants would all thrive. So I contacted Jericho to just request an exchange and was told that "sorry, we cannot process an exchange or refund" which essentially meant that they do not back their products.
I try to support local but it's frustrating that local businesses do not always support the customer and back their product especially, in this case, when it costs very little for them to seed a plant. I guess saving a few bucks is worth the cost of a customer. Now onto Lowe's or Home Depot.

Well last summer had a wonderful time getting plants and trees with Jack's help. Since then however 3 trees have not been healthy and Jericho nursery has never helped us. We purchased all the reccomend garden nutrients and followed detailed planting guides exactly. My 3 arborviteas are not well and si far Jericho nursery has no comments. Buyer beware Thank you Jericho team n Jessie They helped resolve our issues. Even though out of warranty.as its only 90 days.they gave us % off new plants. Thank you

Overpriced and misleading price tagging. Went to buy plants today and was excited to find a bird bath since mine broke. It had a price tag of $49 which seemed about right since it was pretty plain, when I took it to the register they said that that's just the price for the stand and the top part itself was $39 so double the price even though it wasn't tagged.
I told him never mind, I was just upset that I was very excited to find something I liked only to be told when I got to the register it was twice as much even though they did not have it priced correctly and there was no sticker on both parts. Their soil is also about $20 more a bag than smaller scale grow shops in town. Also, I picked a red sage, there was no price or sign on any of the 10 or so plants in the section, I looked at them all, I figured it would be about $30 since I had seen them elsewhere for 10-20 depending on the size.
I was shocked when it rang up as $50 but went to head and got it since I already felt kind of silly for having to say no to the birdbath, I definitely have buyers remorse. Need to find a better place in town to buy plants that is honest with their pricing.

Went to four nurseries today, only one had an expert Gary who immediately helped me when they were swarmed with customers. He gave me details about how to grow rose bushes, even writing down what I needed to remember. I was really grateful for his knowledge and enthusiasm. Could not find anyone to help me at the other places. It is also the most beautiful nursery I was at today. Such good customer service and such a great selection of plants and yard art. Everyone who works there was so friendly. Will make this my go to spot.

Jericho has time and again failed at even decent customer service. The woman who is the co-owner is consistently rude and condescending when you ask for assistance or advice over multiple times I have patronized the nursery. In fact, very few people there are pleasant to interact with, but the co-owner seems to be the most bitter towards patrons. I've given them the benefit of the doubt, but they have only cemented my impression that they do not value those who try to support their business.
Not to mention that they are overpriced and don't have the best selection of plants. I want to support local stores, but will spend my money at Osuna from now on as they are always kind and helpful.

Wow, what a great group of employees. I've been to Jericho twice the last month and I have been so impressed. They are EXTREMELY knowledgeable about the plants, watering techniques, new plants, existing plants, everything I could think to ask. They have a wonderful selection of plants, shrubs, trees and cactus, everything you need plus more. And the great thing was as I wandered the aisles looking puzzled, I was approached to see if they could help. Bravo, its been years since I've had such good service in a retail setting. Thank you Jericho, you have earned a loyal customer.

Jericho Nursery has a very knowledgable staff that can help you with your questions or find someone who can. I really appreciate this in a nursery as finding the right answers is not easy if you choose a big box store. The staff won't hound you if you just want to spend time looking. They have a great selection of just about anything related to your yard, garden or outdoor decorating. I've purchased flagstone, flowers, fertilizers and today, a product to get rid of aphids on roses. I've been satisfied with every purchase and highly recommend Rick, Jen and their staff.

I went to this nursery looking for a shrub that I could plant in a shady area near my house. When I went there, I had no idea what I was looking for. After being there for more than 30 minutes, and being ignored for all that time, I left still now knowing what I was looking for. I see a lot of reviews about how helpful they are, but I did not see that. I saw several employees talking to each other, but I never could get any help.

Poor customer service and the owner doesn't keep his employees promises. I purchased 2 Washingtonia filifera trees. The manager in August of 2020 promised me I had a 1 year warranty. I spoke to the manager to confirm this due to buying the 2 trees so late in the year. Long story short the trees did not last through the winter so I took my receipt to the nursery in April 2021 (8 months after planting them).
The owner was there and didn't care. He said they couldn't warranty them because he would be out of business if he did. I told him I have the receipt and paperwork from the manager advising me of the 1 year warranty and he again refused to warranty them. I informed the manager he needed to ensure his employees are fully aware that he will not warranty them so they are not lying to the customer. Unfortunately, I will no longer do business with this small business owner.
I was going to purchase 42 Evergreens from this business. If he doesn't care about customer service and holding true to his employees promises then I will take my business elsewhere. Stay informed and shop wisely. There are plenty of nurseries around and this one doesn't care about the business.

I love supporting local businesses and I was excited to check this nursery out. Unfortunately, as soon as I walked inside today the first person I see is an employee behind the register not wearing a mask. I am immunocompromised and if you are like me you will definitely not feel safe shopping here. The young woman eventually put her mask on, and I think she took it off to talk on the phone but still. No thanks. Also if you're looking for chicken poop, they don't have it.

Love this open-air nursery! Awesome selection of plants & garden supplies. Easy to spot in traffic but awkward to enter & exit bcuz of busy Alameda Blvd traffic. Parking is limited to maybe 10 or 12 spaces. Maybe 2 parking spaces for handicapped/disabled customers. Staff is attentive & friendly. Plants are healthy-looking & 'happy'! Will return to shop here, often! Thanks to Amanda and Jessie for answering all of my rosemary and cactus plant(s) questions! 5 Stars!

Jericho Nursery has a wide selection of plants to spruce up your yard! In addition they carry a nice selection of garden variety vegetable plants as well. Plus they all look healthy and well maintained! They have a green house, though on a smaller scale however, many unique plants. If you are into succulents, that are not the common ones you would find everywhere this is definitely the place to check them out.
Plus extremely reasonable. Also, amazing selection of decorative pots and outdoor art with our southwest flare! Extremely, professional and friendly staff are ready to assist as well. The only slight drawback, if it's your first time, is the parking situation. It's not paved but in the center, and a bit confusing, as there's no clear define entrance/exit.

Great selection. Plants look good. Prices are crazy! Saw the same pot I had just gotten at home depo and it was over double the price. Why does a local business want to make that much mark up? Better business would be decent prices and more sales. Left Empty handed and wouldn't go back unless they had a specific plant I wanted. Prices way to high for a state that's minimum wage is $7 an hour! A guy would have to work all day or two to buy one pot he could get for half at home depo.

Jericho was my original gardening mentor when I bought my first home. I needed one. Growing up in the midwest, I quickly learned that planting, growing and harvesting anything in Albuquerque's north valley was an art unto itself; man, just wedging a shovel into that clay soil was a backbreaker. I originally visited because I needed help getting rid of a cluster of Chinese Elm that threatened my plumbing, and went home with stump killer.
Next I was back for grass seed, then a gardening book, then a butterfly bush, and on and on. Today the business remains what it was back then: a solid resource for help. The owner, Rick Hobson, has a gardening radio show every other Saturday on KKOB, and he's all green thumbs. When it comes to plants for my outdoor spaces, I lean Plants of the Southwest or Osuna, but I still turn into this parking lot for the large (and often discount) selection of herbs/veggies/berries and, randomly, trees.
I really like the tree selection, and believe me, I've broken my back shoving my shovel into north valley soil and planting more than 20 of them over the last decade. Because trees. Do you need another reason?

These are different times and small businesses are really struggling. I recently moved to Rio Rancho and was landscaping my entire back yard. I told the landscapers I wanted to choose and buy the plants myself. After some online research I decided to get my plants and trees at Jericho. I followed Jericho's rules for placing an online order and making an appointment.
I arrived a few minutes before the assigned time and was directed to make a left turn and enter their parking lot. I parked and it took a few minutes for someone to come to help me. My husband was with me and kept fussing about how long it was taking to get helped, I kept reminding him these are difficult times and we need to be very patient and polite.
When an employee came to help me, it turned out they didn't have my order, so I gave the guy my list. He worked with me for an hour, bringing plants (some of which I rejected) and trying to find a tree I would be happy with. I'm sorry I didn't get his name, he was really patient. He suggested the right soil amendments, root stimulator, and loaded all the plants in the back of the truck.
He was extra careful to prop the tree so it wouldn't get damaged. I left, having spent over $500, and have been pleased with all the plants and the purple plum tree. I need about 10 more plants to complete my yard and I will return to Jericho. I took off a star because the nursery didn't have a second tree and didn't have some of the plants that I wanted.
The process in the parking lot was a little chaotic, but once I had a person helping me things went very well and the employee was very knowledgeable about compost and the right fertilizer to make the plants happy once they were in the ground. I read another recent review (during this Covid-19 time when people weren't allowed inside the nursery) and found her remarks to be somewhat unfair.
All of us need to be patient and understanding that shopping is going to be a little different and will take more time. If you shop for plants in the next few months hike up your kindness and lower your expectations for a quick trip to a nursery.

I care in to the nursery to see what they had there. There are several large greenhouses stocked up with beautiful, healthy plants. They have succulents, house plants, seeds, vegetable plants, flowers, landscape plants, decorative garden objects, fountains, bugs( such as ladybugs) and composting worms to release into your garden for healthy soul and aphid control. and more!
I got some seeds. There was an enormous selection! The staff were also pleasant and helpful even in the current times of social distancing ( I was able to follow social distancing protocol the whole time while I was here due to the expansive greenhouse space). Recommended!
