I hired Twin Pines to install a full landscaping job on a newly constructed Cabin in Caldera (Sunriver, OR). The overall design was good, and the price seemed reasonable. But there were issues right away. First, they started the job and there were weeks that nothing happened in between. Trying to oversee this from Portland was a chore. Greg kept making excuses that they were too busy.
But when they finally got it done, several things were NOT as we agreed. 1. They put such a thin layer of bark dust on our yard, weeds popped in within a week and you could see dirt everywhere. 2. The "Sizeable Mounds" were much smaller than described and when confronted, they just said that is all we get. 3. They planted the wrong type of trees that were supposed to create a barrier and screen the neighbor's patio from our yard. 4. Plants were dying from lack of irrigation as the sprinkler system they installed was not working correctly.
We didn't get the final bill for months, and when I finally called to go over these few issues, Greg DEMANDED to be paid in FULL even though the job was not completed correctly. I paid most of the $12,000 bill but held back $900 to keep them honest and give them an incentive to fix the few issues. I agreed to meet with him in person and he even went so far as to say he would take me to court if I didn't pay in full. Based on his word and a handshake, I stupidly cut a check for the remaining $900 balance that day. Weeks went by and he never came back to fix the issues.
I called and emailed and finally gave up as I got tired of hearing the excuses. This was 4 years ago, and it still pisses me off that he broke promises and made threats. I would NEVER recommend this company for any job. The way they run this business is nothing short of shady.

PROS: completed job. CONS: lack of communication, gross overcharge (in my opinion). "Not a great experience" coming from a fellow contractor who was working on a home that Twin Pines maintains. I hired Twin Pines to repair pipes I broke during concrete replacement. Apparent M.O. is to deflect all phone traffic with lengthy voice mail message stating "email is best" and their email punctuality is less than par.
Near a month of communication lapse after being told by Tereasa, "Let me chat with my husband" (assuming that she would get back with me regarding an open invoice). I reached out to Tereasa again via email after a "Late Notice Bill" was sent to my client (property manager) & multiple non answered phone calls. I was told that she, "ha(s)en't had a spare moment to approach my husband with this", and haven't heard anything since.
For fear of being sent to collections by Twin Pines Landscape the bill was paid without resolution or further discussion with Tereasa, her husband, or their team. Scope of work was discussed with an employee/tech onsite and discussed verbally with Tereasa over the phone, feel that I was grossly OVERCHARGED for the discussed work [or my business ended up buying the property owner a whole new system (when minimal irrigation pipe repair was agreed upon)]. Would NOT RECOMMEND using Twin Pines Landscape Contracting or any of it's services.

Greg is quite busy and we contacted him in the Spring for a Fall project. He made the project happen for the time we were staying in our vacation home, over a couple days. The finish product (berm around our hot tub, with trees and shrubs) is really beautiful and ended up beyond our expectations. Greg had a vision for the project and listened to our asks, incorporating unique trees and boulders.
We also have a designated area for our fire pit. The project is adding presence to the whole property for a reasonable budget. We can't wait for Spring again to see all the trees with leaves and enjoy the newly acquired privacy of our hot-tub/ fire-pit areas. Would definitely hire him again
