Memorial Day & Labor Day: closing time is 5pm. Success with indoor plants is easiest when you match your indoor environment to a plant's growing needs. First, determine where in your home you'd like your future houseplants to live. This will influence the size and type of plant to choose (smaller tabletop, floor plant, or one that can trail) Most plants will need natural light from a window somewhere in the room. Here is a light guide to help you determine what level you have. It is common for plants to be able to adapt to more than one light level.
Memorial Day & Labor Day: closing time is 5pm. Water gardening can be as simple as filling a decorative container with water, adding a pump and placing a selection of water plants within it. On the other end of the spectrum is a full blown pond. Whichever type of water gardener you are, we've got plants and pond supplies for you during the growing season.

This is by far one of the most wonderful nurseries I have visited. The variety is abundant, but not overwhelming! They have everything.indoor, outdoor, water plants, succulents, veggies, fruit, herbs, more drought resistant varieties, and my favorites the native plants. Not all nurseries sell native plants nor as many as they have here. They have so much more here.
The staff are friendly, very helpful, and impressively knowledgeable. Absolutely worth popping in to check out. Walk through to enjoy the positive energy and all the beauty of life here. I highly recommend! Great experience!

Chewy and I had a great time at Phelan Gardens. Plants are absolutely beautiful! Prices are a bit high, but worth it for the quality of the plants. Selection was great. This was the only place near me where I could find a poppy plant. Overall, we spent time on Memorial Day walking the rows of plants and trees. It was relaxing. The customers and employees were kind and friendly. Ashley, shown in the photos, was good to Chewy, and gave him a bone.
I recommend the gardens as a wonderful place to have an outing. (Saw a St. Bernard doodle Chewy played with. He also enjoyed the chickens.) Immediately had trouble parking. They are so popular that they need a larger parking lot, and I hope they get a new place with bigger grounds. Had to wait to get in to park. I also had a lot of trouble trying to get my car out.
I parked in back, and had to turn the car around in a very tight space to exit, with a refrigerator in my way. Did not give 5 stars because of the parking problems and prices. But the plants are healthy and guaranteed, and everyone is pleasant!

This place is HUGE and honestly, pretty cool. I have a brown thumb. and for the past 3 years have been killing any and all plants I come in contact with. We are working on a landscaping design for our patio and decided to go to Phelan Gardens to find some bushes. The lady who helped out out was so lovely and knowledgeable. I live in a pretty nature friendly area so deets are always munching on my plants.
She even went over bushes that are less appetizing to deers. Plants aren't cheap but I believe they are worth it. The store is huge and it has anything and everything you could need. The staff is friendly and helpful. I will be returning!

Went to this nursery for the first time Saturday morning. The parking can be a bit tricky. The lot was packed turning in off Austin Bluffs but was quite worth the little delay. Gorgeous selection of plants/trees/succulents/etc. Loved the lay out. Greenhouse, store, and all the outside options. Plants/trees were well taken care of. Amazing selection at good pricing.
They have a very cool Bee observation setup mounted into one of the walls to watch bees at work. Bought a jar of Colorado Springs own Lockhart Honey. So delicious and fresh. The cashier was super friendly and gave us more information on the bees. For as many customers they had, Phelan had enough cashier's available to keep it moving very smoothly. If you're looking for great trees/plants for your yard, garden, or home. I highly recommend you check this place out. Lol

Amazing Place! We have been going here for years and the staff is always super patient and kind. Love the aesthetic and how you can spend as much time looking around and appreciating all the plants! They continue to give me the best tips for indoor and outdoor plants anytime throughout the year. The parking can be a little challenging on nice days but with a little patience it is so worth it!

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL nursery! Plants are so gorgeous and healthy. A huge variety of indoor and outdoor plants to choose from. A neat "air plant" is available as well. A nice sized succulent section included! Inside they have some colorful flower pots and plenty of potting soil to choose from. There is a large outdoor area that includes trees, shrubs, HUGE chickens and a butterfly habitat. The employees were kind and helpful. Pet friendly which is a plus.

I had ZERO clue this place existed! Then I found it thanks to a friend and fell in love. I felt my bank account cry no after my first step in, but it'll have to deal lol. I'm sure I'll be here through out the growing season to get all the necessities for my garden. There is an abundance of plants in all different varieties. Prices seem fair as well. Absolutely adore this place!

So helpful! Helped me with my lemon tree, olive tree propagation, told me not to buy certain things that I was going to waste money on.just a lovely experience. Prices are great. Much cheaper than the big box stores where I usually go and far more helpful and friendly. Plus, it always feels better to support a local business.

I'm writing this review specifically for people who might be new to the houseplant scene. Stop getting ripped off by bougie little boutiques and GO TO PHELAN GARDENS. I took the trip down from Denver and was so, so pleased with this little garden shop. Their greenhouse was nicely organized, and even at the end of winter/early spring, they had a lot of plants in great condition, and half of the greenhouse was reserved for plants still rooting/growing.
What really stood out to me was the prices, though. I can't believe how ripped off I've been going to some other plant shops in comparison. Not only were the prices extremely reasonable, but for many plants, they generally had three different options -- a mature plant around $22-30, and mid-sized plant around $7-14, and a starter for $4-6.
I recently purchased a "starter" Philodendron Brasil from a shop in Denver for $12. could have walked away with a beautiful, thriving hanging basket for that price here. I was so thrilled to be able to grab a thriving larger string of turtles, but then a little starter of string of hearts. I also snagged a gorgeous Scindapsus Pictus Silver Splash for an insanely good price.
I spent around $75, walked away with a good armful of new plants, and put a note on my calendar to go visit them in the heart of summer to find out what's new. Customer service was also great/friendly and while I didn't have many questions, they were quick to chat with other customers.

This place has a large selection of trees and plants. Beautifully laid out and a knowledgeable staff to help you find what you need. They have a great selection and wide variety inside and outside. We bought a blue spruce that's so far is been thriving in our backyard things to their guidance and direction on what would survive in our landscape and tips for planting. I'm happy to report its doing great!
This place is pricey however the quality of service and product far exceeds expectations which is worth the price tag! I highly recommend this business for your landscaping and garden needs

This nursery was the absolute best one we've ever been to! Jackson was so incredibly helpful, not only with his knowledge of different types of plants that would do well in our yard, but also with awesome design ideas. The whole staff was so helpful and even took back 2 plants when we accidentally bought too many, no issue at all. Of all the nurseries in the springs, go here first!

We contracted to have plantings and mulch installed. We met with the son of the owner who did the installation, then he disappeared Approximately 1/3 of the plants initially installed died. They replaced a number of plants which also died. Other plants initially installed also died. We paid for additional mulch which was insufficiently done and that area is now full of weeds.
When we spoke to the owner, she told us that they had no further responsibility or obligation. We paid $2900 for poor quality and dead plants and shoddy installation. We feel that this business took advantage of us and did not stand behind their estimate or their work!

This place is very cute! Lots of options for outdoor plants as well as indoor. The plants are very well maintained and taken care of! Also, they have a huge outdoor tree selection. Only reason for 3 stars was I had a pretty rude encounter with a staff member. Which is a bummer because I loved the place, but was pretty disappointed with how me and my friend were treated.

Unfortunately I ended up at Summerland Gardens first. Do not go there, go here. This is a real plant store, with a real greenhouse, healthy plants, and reasonable prices. I went before growing season has really started, and even though many plants are not ready for sale, still a good selection of healthy plants. Can't wait to go again in a few weeks when things get going.

We couldn't be happier with our plants and service from Phelan Gardens. We were looking for some easy house plants. The customer service was excellent-they were more than willing to walk us around the greenhouse and show us different options. Once we picked plants, they taught us how to care for each of them. The plants are in great condition and have settled into our house very well.
I feel the prices are completely reasonable for smaller plants. I didn't check the larger ones, but I'm assuming they are more expensive. I would be happy to return here anytime for any plant needs. They also have a lot of home decorations for anyone looking for great decorations.

If I could give less an one star I would. I purchased almost $500 from them, a mix of trees and shrubs. I even paid extra for delivery and installation. I order for two trees and two shrubs to be put in the ground and took 4 smaller grasses and bushes home to do the same. It took two weeks for them to come out to plant the items I had delivered. By then we changed the design plan and decided not to plant the grasses and bushes I brought home.
I called and asked if I was able to return the plants. I was told yes as long as I had the receipt and the plants were still in the same pot. They were. I had kept them inside the house for two weeks waiting for the rest to be delivered. At this point, my intention was to return the four smaller plants that had started to wither away from being inside.
And purchase 10 more plants for the new design idea, plus installation. I would have spent at least another $500 to $1000, but I was treated so horribly about the return from the cashier with the yellow/pink hair. I was told he was the manager. Unfortunately this place has poor management in place. When I bought the plants back and they weren't in perfect condition, I was then told that I could only get half my money back.
We are talking about a $47 return verses a potential $1000 sale. I even spoke with the owner Mark and explained the situation. He proceeded to blame me for lack of proper care of the plants and refused to return them for the price that I paid. As a business owner, I would have taken back four slightly dying plants for $47 and kept the customer happy. Knowing full well that the company would have gotten returned business.
But not such luck! Since I had to keep the plants, I tried to salvage them. When I actually tried removing the plants from the pots, they were so pot bound that their was no way that reputable plant place would have let them get this bad. These plants would have likey died regardless of care. See pics below.

It seems like this nursery is great as long as you're buying. When trying to return distressed plants it's another story. I've attempted to return 3 different purchases to no avail. Their warranty is 6 months if you plant, 1 year if they do. I sent a picture to Monica to see if she could assist me on a warranty issue. After 4 months still waiting for a response.
I sent Mark 2 pictures of a different warranty issue and the response I got was lack of watering and the soil caused the condition. I have a total of 8 plants/shrubs/grasses growing in the same area and all are doing great except for the ones from Phelan. All nursery in this area are on a drip system. They've got a great selection and prices are reasonable.
But from now on I will shop Home Depot and Lowe's for my nursery needs where warranty issues, 1 year, are not questioned as long as you have the receipt and the selection is good also.
