This is not as bad as it looks! We can encourage the lawn to overpower the moss, instead of replacing it, and we have a few organic\natural special techniques to share. You have many options! Overgrowth can be tamed, and we would love to look at your yard with you to determine how you use your space.
Scott has done our pruning for 30 years and we have always had confidence in his ability to bring out the best of our yard's tree and bush design. Its excellence is commonly recognized by our neighbors and friends. The best thing I like about Scott is his attention to detail. When he visits your home to prune your trees, he is a true artist.
Hi Scott, you and your guys have done great work at our house for a few years. Would love to schedule you to come out to prune front "smoke bush" that's HUGE this year, cherry tree near front door, locust in back that is impinging on our deck, and a crab apple doing the same. No need for an estimate.
Each plant variety has a growth pattern. We preserve plant growth by optimizing the health and longevity without undue stress from hard pruning. Healthy plants grow well. Deciduous plants, those that drop leaves in the fall often grow vigorously. Needing annual or bi-annual pruning. Evergreen shrubs, those that hold their foliage throughout the season, grow slower and only require annual pruning.

Scott Miller and his wonderful crew at Star Pruners clearly cares about the beauty and integrity of trees and shrubs in the landscape. Our yard was overgrown but they were undaunted. They carefully considered the growth pattern and shape of each specimen and its place in the overall scheme, and treated each with careful regard and respect. And, except for the stellar results, they cleaned up so well you'd never know they were here. Exactly what I wanted! No one else but Star Pruners will ever touch my yard again. Oh, and did I mention Scott responded right away when I called?

Star Pruners did a great job tying up and trimming our arborvitae hedge, helping fill in the gaps we couldn't do ourselves. Scott and his crew did an amazing job of fixing and trimming our heavily damaged and overgrown arborvitae. They also removed a small tree for a minimal price. Scott was on time for our appointment and very knowledgeable and friendly. His crew is also very friendly and do great work. Everything was cleaned up and disposed of when they left. Highly recommend, will be using them again!

I called and Scott and came right out. I really appreciated his honesty. He felt my tree was a little too tall for him to do and he referred me to another company. He followed through right away and texted me the other company's name and number. I will definitely use Star Pruners for any other pruning needs that I may have in the future. Scott and his crew did a fantastic job restoring trees and other plantings that had become overgrown and damaged from weather and years of neglect and improper pruning done by others. I especially appreciate Scott's caring and concern for how my landscape looks and his willingness to explain and demonstrate proper pruning techniques while he worked. For the past several years, Star Pruners has beautifully maintained my dad's landscaping. I called Scott about two weeks ago to remove over-planted bushes, trim/prune and clean up a huge mess left by a company who took out trees and removed the stumps. Scott promptly called me. He came out to my house to give me an estimate promising that he could complete the work within the next two weeks.
His crew arrived on-time today and the work was completed. I cannot express how pleased I am by the end results. Great follow-up and customer service. I highly recommend "Star Pruners" and will definitely use them again in the future.

Scott and his crew have taken care of all of my trees and woody shrubbery in my yard for the last 20 years. They do a stellar job on all of the trees, particularly my giant arborvitae, which separates our back yard from the street. If you want to treat your trees like the best investments in your yard, talk to Scott. We have lived in the same house for 30 years. When our former pruner retired, Scott came and gave me a quote. It was competitive and fair, and his work has remained competitive and fair for the past 20 years.
