Upgrade did a fine job with drainage work and a retaining wall. However, their resodding was terrible. See attached pictures. The grass looked like this within the first year. They did come out and resod but it soon failed again. Chris, the owner, claimed it was bad soil. So, I had my lawn maintenance company do a soil test, and the results were negative.
No problem with the soil. Chris was skeptical so he had one of his staff do another soil test. Same result. Now Chris refuses to redo it, claiming that his warranty extends only through the first year. I dispute that. I think the year should restart if the work is redone. Otherwise, what's the point? Now Chris will only redo it if I pay for the materials, which could be up to $1000. And, of course, he disclaims any liability or warranty at that point. Well, if I'm going to redo it, it will be with someone other than him.
