I bought 8 maple trees and many perennials here last fall, and they are doing so well this spring! The quality of the plants here is top notch.

Great place for Minnesota and Wisconsin native trees and plants for pollinators like bees and butterflies. I bought willows, dogwood, high bush cranberry, sedge grasses, Jacob's Ladder, cardinal flowers and wild strawberries. Got good advice on what to plant, how to plant and shade plants too. Forget the chain stores, everybody. Been using this place for over 10 years to buy native plants. Friendly, knowledgeable, laid-back crew who take native plants seriously. They'll answer your questions, give you recommendations, and so much more. Range of sizes available, everything from trees to shrubs to wildflowers and beyond. If you're looking for a good, locally-owned nursery, this is the place to go.

Know before you go - no dogs allowed. Check the hours and call for availability on something before you go if you're really wanting something in particular. Pro tip: pack a lunch and make a halfday/day trip out of it, you're right along the St. Croix with lots of park options!

I found Out Back Nursery this year and so happy I did. They have an excellent selection of native trees and plants. They provide exceptional customer service. Anytime I have called or emailed I have gotten a prompt response to my questions. I also love the prices which can't be beat. I bought 5 trees that are doing great and all of the plants are still healthy and going strong.

Love this place! The gardeners on staff are knowledgeable and passionate about native plants. If you have questions about what to plant, they can give very helpful direction.

Only place around that we could find a Hackberry Tree and the people there are super helpful and knowledgeable. Very honest as well, the gentleman knocked off a little $ because of a scratch on the tree that we likely wouldn't have even noticed. Worth the drive 10/10 will shop again.

Couldn't be more pleased with the service. Tom went out of his way to find me some evergreens for my backyard last fall. Over the long and brutal winter all of my trees died. Tom not only offered to replace them, he went out and found the only ones at a different nursery purchased and delivered them directly to my house free or charge with no questions asked. Hands down the best nursery in the Twin Cities for true, untreated native plants. They have a great selection with hard to find plants that wildlife gardeners usually have to grow from seed. The plants are good size and prices are reasonable.
