Oakland Nursery - Columbus Garden Store, Columbus

Fantastic nursery - huge japanese maple selection, and herb selection too, their greenhouse isn't huge but very well maintained and interesting selection there too. Also big selection of pots etc too.

Awesome variety of plants and trees, but know what you are looking for, because some of the staff at the front register and the grounds make you feel like you are bothering them if you have questions about anything at all. But as they interact with" other" patrons seems to be no problem. Don't think I will be going back to okland Park nursery on okland Park. First time going there and the last. There are other Nurseries in my area that will welcome me. Nice place but a bad experience.

I love their seed and supply selections. They have beautiful plants and nice staff. They don't have many (if any) peat-free soil or seed starting options. There will occasionally be coco bricks hidden on a shelf, but it is extremely frustrating to have to go to another place in order to find more environmentally-friendly soils.

Gotta remember to go here FIRST next year! Healthy plants, HUGE selection, beautiful planters and hanging baskets! Best place for roses in my opinion! They even have plants for water gardens! I never go home empty handed.

The best garden center in central Columbus. Always has an amazing assortment of annuals and perennials. The staff are so nice. The store inside just has the cutest stuff. Sometimes we go just to walk around to look at stuff for inspiration.

Great variety of plants, saplings, indoor, outdoor accessories. Big collections. They have different water fountains, little expensive. Zen windchains, Summer collections, flowers, artificial creepers, pots, etc are available at this store. There is mud, mulch, organic feeders, organic mixers etc, required planting tools are also available. Parking is little congested during summer as crowd is busy. Friendly staff. There is small lemonade stall inside as it's summer.

I absolutely love that they have different different plants and trees of all kinds. This place is absolutely amazing the only reason I gave them 3 stars is because I bought a tree for my birthday and when I was reading the little platform on the information on the tree it never said anything about the seeds on this tree being extremely poisonous and soft wood.

So the tree breaks alot and doesn't have a long life. I have chickens, ducks and dogs. I can't have this tree in my yard because of the animals. I have always done research on the plants I get before hand however, I have never herd of this tree and trusted the info the provided. I am very upset with the lack of information that you get on the trees and plants.

You have to have the good info and the bad so every costumer can make a decision if that's what they are looking for. I did call in and they will take the back and apologized about it. I'm thankful for that and thankful that I found out about this tree before any of my animals got hurt or worse.

Every time I've been there the checkout girls are rude. They act like they're doing you a favor by taking your money. I'd go somewhere else.

One of our favorite day date stops in the spring! My favorite is the greenhouse with the tropical houseplants, but we will spend hours outside going up and down each aisle. You can find so much here and I love it.

Oakland Nursery off Dublin-Granville Rd. has a lot going for it. Tucked on the service-type road it's location is seen by huge numbers of drivers skirting between Sawmill and Riverside Drive. My tours of this gardener's paradise but their household plants department for cacti and mini-plants is low on selections. There what I call a "Big Box" dealer in plants which is cool. I'm not a fan of their pricing on pots for planting but that's because I found a shop up in the Marengo/Fargo area that is country-fied and sells for less. Oakland Nursery sells a ton of household things, covering a lot of ground that shoppers in this Dublin area will like.

Plenty of plants in spring/summer and a really nice indoor/outdoor materials. Good location. Decent pricing. Nice for home owners with above average size dwellings. Hit up Oakland Nursery.

This review is about their Christmas trees in Pickerington on Hill road. We have bought from this location in years past and had stopped for a while due to the trees often dropping their needles and had been cutting our own at the local tree farms. Since we are older and can no longer cut our own; My husband stopped there this last Tuesday Nov 30th, and they assured him the trees were fresh cut.

The trees were three times as expensive as last year; but he bought one hoping it would be a good tree, and worth the money. It is now Dec 4th. We put the tree in water the same day we brought it home. It had a fresh cut on the end. We let it rest for three days before trying to decorate it; keeping the water full and checking the tree frequently.

We are decorating today and over half the needles have fallen off already. This tree must have been cut at least a month ago and certainly not stored well. Very disappointed for 150.00 for an 8 foot tree I truly expected it to last and hold up for more than five days. I have amended my review to 4 stars as when I called Oakland Ivan was very kind and offered to replace the tree.

We have decided against that as that would require a tremendous undertaking to take the lights and everything back off but at least that was an option. I would recommend if you don't feel like decorating twice to really check the tree at the lot well; give it a strong shake to see how many needles drop and see if the needles are yellowing or browning at all.

We have noticed that after closer inspection. The tree looked beautiful at first glance just was dried out and falling apart already. Since Oakland Nursery does have good customer service and stands behind their products I suspect their supplier was less than honest about when they cut and how they stored the trees.

This place has gone down a lot over the years. Mostly with customer service. Most people are rude af! Especially the ones you get sent to to ask about trees/shrubs etc at the back table. Even employees who work with the rest of the plants and trees in the front are very condescending. As in they look at you like you're stupid if you ask them questions about these damn plants. Ummm that's why YOU'RE here.

My other complaint is that no two people give you the same response on the return policy. Everyone here needs to be retrained. But clearly, the owners don't seem to care at all

Stay away from this company! Very rude employees and very poor policies given the state of things these days with Covid etc. won't be back

Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Lots of variety. Prices can range but the deals are amazing. Went to them to start an outdoor container garden. All of the seedlings I got from them I got have flourished. Still need to read and research and be attentive to your individual plants, but the Oakland nursery will have almost, if not, everything you need to be successful.

Followed around by two catty women and an old man who finally approached me, called me dear and honey like I was his child, and told me I couldn't walk between the buildings without first paying. Not a single sign said that, and there are people with full carts going back and forth and the buildings are open to each other. I said I'm carrying a 19$ item, surely you aren't concerned I was not going to pay?

He dared to put a hand on my shoulder with his filthy, judging grubby hands. I'm not sure what century he thinks he is living in, but women don't appreciate being treated that way. I will never darken their door again. Happy to have walked away without buying the two $300 trees!

Love this place I stop in often to actually just buy candles and wine LOL I stop by the Store next to the Nursery LOL But if you have a Green Thumb and like to plant Flowers, Veggies, Do some Landscaping, this place has what you need.

Beautiful place that had what I needed; however, the customer service was lacking severely. I called and got hung up on 4 times. I went in and a manager lady at the front barked at me. Then I walked back and got the run around again. They transferred me to a man in the back who walked me to the front to pick up my item. Heard an employee chide me for saying it couldn't be put on hold on weekends on the walkie.

Man wasn't real interested either. Then I was sent to check out and I accidentally went into the wrong lane and a blond cashier YELLED at me! I went through the line and told the other cashier. The one who yelled at me stormed off with a serious attitude. None of the employees really seemed to care. A little pricey. Eh.

They have a huge selection of plants plus so many other things. They even have clothes. They have a good selection of fountains if you are looking for one. The home place has a lot of beautiful things for your home. The nursery has all kinds of things for the birds also. Fun to just walk around and look at everything

I have always enjoyed Oakland nursery but I am so frustrated.they recently removed almost ALL accessible parking spots. There is ONE spot to park for people with limited mobility at the Oakland Nursery on Dublin Grandville Road. They have placed plants in the accessible spots and are absolutely NOT in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Great place to shop but absolutely awful in terms of services for people with differences. Colleen

We were eating lunch at Rebol so we stopped by. It's a great place for landscaping stuff as well as indoor plants, bird feeder stuff and other related decor. There's a place next door with more decor and such for your home. You can buy all kinds of soil, peat, etc for your plant and find pots for your plants. We mostly hung around the green house.

They have your typical trendy plants: succulents, dracaena, terrarium plants, Palms, bamboo, air plants, etc. Had to get a fern! It wasn't a bad price at $9.99. My sister found a neon pothos and a peace lily. I will add that parking is kinda atrocious. It gets filled quickly! And some parts of it, you can't even turn around. My best advice: get here early if you can. Regardless, park on the right side of the lot!

This place is deceptively big and has great prices, I love the greenhouse area and can't help but get several plants every time! They also have an extensive indoor and home section and the people working there are super helpful!

Stopped in here yesterday on my personal outing to feed my plant addiction. :) I walked through the store area first that had a variety of home decor items. There was also a huge bird area in the front with alot of different varieties of items to choose from for your house. I made my way back to the greenhouse where I was in awe. I walked around to see what was available - from pothos to snake to spider to floor plants, etc.

My list for the day was to find a much bigger snake plant (score!) and spider plant for the bathroom and front room of my house. There were many different sizes of snake plants to choose from as well as the other plants that they offer. After much looking around, I ended up buying a marble queen pothos, a snake plant, a coffee plant and a new planter. For what I paid, it was quite reasonable. Buying from a nursery allows me to know that I am buying from the right people. Definitely will be coming back here again!

This was by far the best experience my family and I have had getting a Christmas tree. I wanted a balsam fir for our Christmas tree, and after a few phone calls I was realizing it may be harder than I thought. I called and spoke to a lovely young woman who was fantastic. She told me she had them! So we headed down that evening. It was kind of confusing as to were to go and were to park - but we figured it out.

We walked around the inside of the store for a bit, and that was amazing. Then we headed to the back where the Christmas trees were. Walked around for a second and found a gentleman that pointed us to the Balsam fir's. We found our tree and he took it and said he'd meet us around front. We walked through the store a bit more and then paid for our purchases. We pulled the car through and just as smooth as everything else they secured it to the top and we were on our way! It was awesome! 10/10 I highly recommend!

If you are into horticulture, gardening, or just like decorating this is the place for you. We usually like to come a few times a year to freshen up our holiday decor and get some new plants and such. And they have some of the prettiest wreaths, benches, and lawn decor around. We came in specifically for all things fall and oh my gourd they did not disappoint.

From mini hay bails to every type of squash we could think of we were set for the season. The staff at Oakland Nursery is always super kind, friendly, and helpful. While the store is organized well it is huge and can be overwhelming at times. The staff is always great at letting you know how to find items with ease. They can be a little pricey on certain items but we have also found some deals as well. Definitely recommended for your outdoor and seasonal needs!

We had heard that this nursery was the best place to get large pots and concrete decorations. We were definitely pleasantly surprised when we pulled in to the parking lot to see so many wonderful items right up front! This was our first time at this location and it was pretty awesome. We spent about two hours walking through their greenhouses, their outdoor plant spots, and their home goods indoor shops.

So much to see in such a small area! I likes how they had larger trees for sale, which you don't see in many other locations throughout the city. The plant selection was also better than most locations and they had some very unique varieties of indoor plants you just don't see anywhere. The prices are a bit high in my opinion, but the choices definitely make up for that additional cost. We will definitely be coming back for more!

Oakland Nursery is definitely the best place (in my view) in Central Ohio. My favorite location is on 161. Great selection of plants all year round and I love the gift section. Over the years have found some great presents. I just purchased greenery to make porch pots and they have a wonderful selection. Prices are not the cheapest but you pay for quality. Ample parking and the additional Home store next door is a plus.

Mr. Gustav Reiner, I watched and witnessed Holly and Cynthia discriminate & public humiliate against an elderly lady yesterday at this location! Very unprofessional and unacceptable behavior by Oakland nursery employees! There clearly needs to be more done so no one EVER has to encounter this type of harassment in the future! I own and operate two assisted living businesses and this is absolutely no way to treat our elderly.

Your employees need to learn to have some respect and decency for those whom have fought for this country and put there lives on the line for our freedom. This is absolutely no way to treat your community members! FYI. I WOULD GIVE NO STAR IF POSSIBLE!

The selection of plants, home goods, gifts, etc here is amazing. They truly have something for everyone. The prices are higher than what you would pay at a chain store, but it is a great place to find something unique. Staff was not overly friendly or helpful the day I visited, but I was happy to just wander around and take it all in. They happened to be having a wine tasting in the gift shop. Cheers!

Make sure you have plenty of time to walk around here and are not rushed. There are so many things to browse for all different types of people. They had a ton of Christmas stuff, from wreaths to ornaments to salt and pepper shakers and everything in between. A good collection of scarves and unique clothing, as well. This would be a great place to find gifts for people since there is such a wide variety.

They have a really unique selections of wallets, small purses and bigger bags in the back, as well (which were on sale at 25% off!). I've been to Columbus so many times and never stopped by here. I've been missing out!
