Far West Landscape & Garden

I wanted an alternative to my front lawn; ugly, hard to control weeds, water hungry, etc. I had worked with Marcia in 2020 when Far West transformed my backyard. I can't imagine hiring anyone else - service and workers (Luis & Luis) were amazing and Far West honored the tree warranty and replaced one that hadn't made it with a better tree. This year, Marcia designed my xeriscape front yard; I had no idea how good it would look.

She had great ideas that were far better than I envisioned. I have a stream with a bridge, beautiful pollinators and very low maintenance. I also appreciated her advice and encouragement in my desire to get rid of chemical herbicides and fertilizers.

They were super helpful and knowledgeable about everything. I loved the we plan, you plant program. Really helped me as I'm not great at knowing what goes where or with what. Fantastic experience everytime I've been there.

I called today to get an idea of pricing and what to do before coming in to buy some privacy bushes. The associate was very inconvenienced when I asked to get a ball park on pricing. She then told me I should consult google to learn about the plants I need. I thought that's why I'm calling a garden center, if you don't offer expertise and good customer service then everyone is better off going to Home Depot and saving tons of money.

Looking back at everything that's occurred since April 2020, I'd say Farwest Landscape was one of very few businesses that was abrasively overboard on 'science'. Rude signs up about masks enforced indoors & out; employees with authority complex marching around looking for mask-below-nose violators, probably anger issues from the person in charge. Probably at one time on the cusp of requiring vaccine cards to shop. There is a certain clientele that wants to reward businesses like this.

They always have a great selection and customer service. The people are very knowledgeable and helpful. My back yard is full of nice flowers and trees from FW.

Far West is a great nursery. Jimbo helped us find a great set of espaliered pear trees. We continue to drive past other nurseries to get the super nice and knowledgeable staff advice from Far West.

Finally stopped by to find flowers for 2022. While they had a large selection they also have steep prices, even for the basic of plants. While I'm all about paying for quality and supporting local I'd recommend getting the basics (petunias, begonias etc)else where for half the price and coming here for the fun/special stuff.

We loved working with Far West Landscape for our patio and landscaping project! Marcia Hestead and Luis and Luis were masters of their craft. We added pavers to expand our existing cement patio and they listened to our goals and did an amazing job guiding us! We found the perfect blend of pavers and the crew meticulously laid each paver with precision.

We loved the plant suggestions as we had very specific requirements of plants / trees that we wanted. We love that Far West does everything to complete the job: moving and adding sprinklers, planting sod, adding boulders and laying bark with edging the new bed. We have received multiple compliments from many people. Thank you for your work!

They have helped us landscape two homes and have sold us countless plants and garden equipment. ****** Fix and his staff have been consistently helpful and courteous. Several times they have replaced shrubs or trees that didn't make at no cost.

Several years ago their crew did a major landscape change in our garden that turned out superbly. Last month we had some additional changes made including replacing lawn with shrubs and altering a stone wall. We were privileged to have ****** doing with this along with his crew. It was obvious that ****** has good management skills and once again we were pleased with the results. We highly recommend Farwest Landscape to anyone who has a garden or landscape job. We have never been disappointed.***********************

Michael was very helpful in sharing the pros and cons of various shade trees that grow here in the valley.

They take real good care of there plants and trees. Prices are good.

We have been using FarWest for years. The selection for perennial plants is as good as any place in town. Ornamental tree selection is also great. We have purchased a couple fruit trees and a few Japanese maples over the years and all are still alive and doing great. We appreciate the knowledgeable staff and their eagerness to help nail down problems. The only real complaint is their plants seem to be a bit more expensive than some of the other garden centers, but the customer service makes up for it.

They were fantastic. The work, the product, the people. And since then, I have a direct line for any questions I have about my plants.

Super great inventory and lots of options to get your yard started and going for the years. the staff was right there to help and very knowledgeable. Wonder if this place is hiring. I would so want to work at a plant place with friendly, informative people!

This was our best garden center experience this year! We had just walked onto the lot and immediately had someone ask if they could help us. We had a huge list of items to purchase and she helped guide us around the garden center and gave us suggestions and tips. She was so friendly with our little kids and just a dream to work with. We really enjoyed our experience and are going to skip the other places next time around and just head to far west!

Inside out: their parking lot was full when we got there, but we parked next-door in FarWest designs. It's a beautiful place to go just to look, they have such a huge variety of trees and flowers, yard art, pretty much everything I could possibly imagine needing for outside. The plants looked healthy, the trees looked healthy, overall everything seemed well-maintained. Staff: we got asked several times if we needed anything, when we asked a question about a tree, we got fast and friendly help! Overall: I have no idea the cost of their services, their prices seemed a little high but likely worth it for quality. A beautiful place to go just to walk around and maybe you'll find some thing for your yard :-

This nursery is amazing in the appearance and has a great selection of healthy plants. After years of having a non blooming trumpet vine I decided to replace it with 2 honeysuckle plants. Found 2 varieties that will be gorgeous as they mature. Looking to make the yard more hummingbird friendly with summer long blooming plants. Will return to seek out more unusual plants.

Now we find out that not only was the pump faulty but the new waterfall feature liner is leaking so even the construction seems to have been faulty. Wow be careful having this company do anything expensive at your home.

EMILY really understood my vision for a water conservation, low maintenance, and Emily understood my vision for a water conservative and low maintenance front yard redesign. She choose grasses, trees, rocks, and gravel that complimented the architecture of the home. She managed the project and crew, flawlessly, and delivered a unique and magical design. I highly recommend her for future projects!

We have been customers of FW for the past 2+ years, finding their nursery supplies a nice quality and good inventory. They are not the least expensive stop for gardening and landscape supplies. who they are. We visited there this past week looking for rose bush purchase options. This trip we found two of their customer contact people less than gifted - actually very sarcastic and found seemingly wanting to be somewhere else than in a constructive support role of customers. Trying to make lemonade out of lemons, we did our best to be polite and kind to the employee(s), which did help with the exchanges of the living sourpusses.

A suggestion to the management, screen your hires more carefully and recruit those people who are optimists at heart, those who naturally express caring for the needs of others and prune out those who use sarcasm and harsh responses to customers in need as a way to push onto others their bad day - clearly wanted to find themselves somewhere else.

I love stopping by the Garden Center. They carry a great selection of plants and are always there to offer help in selection. We did a big landscaping project in the summer of 2020 and our landscape designer, Emily, was amazing to work with. She really listened to our ideas, and even though she's the knowledgeable professional, she definitely gave me a voice throughout the process which gives me a great sense of ownership in the final product. She can take the project and run, but I love that she let me be a part of it. She also introduced me to some amazing plants that I didn't know existed.

This place is overpriced! The lady that helped us was great in recommending an alternative to what we we're looking for. The black lace elderberry was the perfect alternative for us in place of the Japanese maple that wouldn't have liked the sun situation in our yard. However, the black lace elderberry plant we got was double the price from other nurseries. They charged me $65 and at a different nursery for the same size and way better foliage it was only $35!

Purchased a product that the clerk told me would warrant trees for one year. Manager refused to honor warranty. If the owner's response is accurate, perhaps he should make sure his employees are properly trained not to offer the warranty if it does not apply to fall clearance trees. Waste of money and time.

I have never used their services so I cannot speak to that but one of the employees drives ridiculously recklessly. If their services are good that's great but I won't be hiring based on the lack of responsibility while driving a company car because that spoke loudly enough for me.

I've heard they have great plants but I never made it in because the woman on the phone was so rude and off putting that I decided I don't want to patronize them. Look, I know it's their busy season but I had several hundred dollars worth of planting for a large landscaping project and she decided she didn't want that business.

I called to ask the protocol to select and prepay for plants that would be tagged and picked up later by my landscaper. I was told by a friend they did this. The woman stated they do NOT do this, and that even prepaid, tagged plants weren't guaranteed. When I said I was sure they did, and reiterated my needs for the landscaper to pick up later she flatly replied with "what's 'later'?" She was so unhelpful that I said never mind; I'll go elsewhere but when I spoke again to my friend, she said they do it all the time, and that her prepaid, tagged plants were being delivered on Saturday to her house BY far west.

Interesting the woman on the phone never even mentioned this option to me. So, I went to Edwards instead and spent about $500 to patronize people who were friendly and clearly wanted my business. Update: while I always, appreciate recipient feedback from proprietors on Yelp, I need to reply to the reply from FarWest. I was very, very clear that my intention was to come down (was in fact on my way) to select and pay for the plants at the store on that day for later pick up by my landscaper. And, the policy isn't the problem.

It was the attitude. as a person in customer service, maybe I'm more sensitive than the next guy but whoever answered that called need to be trained up better at policy and customer service etiquette.

Had them bid for and then selected them to do a signifant landscaping project. Entire process was seamless and easy, very professional, pricing was great and very responsive as I asked questions and changed things along the way. The Project Manager kept in touch with me and explained everything along the way and the team really had amazing eye for adding small details and making the finished product better than I expected. Will absolutely use them again and recommend.

Great service! Ordered a tree during the April closure, it was dropped off in a timely manner. Shortly after being dropped off I noticed an issue with the tree. I emailed Dennis and he gave me an honest assessment of the pictures I sent. Dennis notes that he'd like to replace the tree as he felt it was not up to their standard. They delivered a new tree, dug up the original tree and planted the new tree.all at no additional cost. It's great to work with experts that are honest and take pride in their products and work. Thank you Dennis and Far West!

Last year- Their return policy needs some review. Bought 3 miniature blue spruces and one didn't make it. I went back and talked to the cashier, she asked if I had bought their "special formula?" Evidently if you buy this stuff they warranty their plants. If not, you're SOL! So you really think this one tree would have made it had I spent the extra money?

How come the other 2 were just fine with out this "special formula?" The cashier was somewhat rude. When I asked to speak to the owner she said he's not here. When asked when he would be in, she said, send him an email he doesn't have regular hours. Way too much of a hassle for plant! Will be staying with Home Depot or Costco from now on. I'm all for supporting small business, but not when they are rude and won't stand behind their products. Incidentally the tree was only 7 months old and it never did take off like the others.

This year- went back to buy another tree as this nursery is the only place that carries this species. The price went up over $100 for the same tree! So done with this place! Cashier said she would have Dennis contact me, no such luck!

This was my second time here and kinda disappointed in the lack of customer service the first time I went here was not impressed by the selection that was in March and went back again today and no greeting when we walked in I went to look at the felcos and no one asked if I needed help there products are marked wayy up example:felco sells felco 2 pruners on there website for 60.40+12.00 shipping they have them priced here for 84.00 and I asked if they price match the woman rudely said no we said thank you on our way out and she just said yeah will not be back here. I'd rather drive out to Edwards greenhouse

We drove to every nursery in town looking for help on Junipers for privacy. Everyone was just alright - until we got to FarWest. The help and selection was extraordinary and it was all because of one guy - RUSS. Russ was an unbelievable wealth of information, incredibly nice, and wanted us to walk out happy. I cannot thank Russ enough, along with FarWest. We will be back for all of our gardening and landscaping needs. And we will certainly be asking for Russ for help!

We are very pleased with our new fountain from FarWest. Not only was the staff extremely friendly and knowledgeable, but they also delivered and installed the fountain to ensure that it worked properly for us to enjoy. We visit FarWest often now just to see what's new and experience the amazing assortment of plants, trees, shrubs and everything in between to help improve our outdoor space. Thank You FarWest!

Fabulous selection, but you'll pay for the variety. The prices here are among the highest in the area. We were impressed with all that was available. Good service, and a fantastic array of plants of all kinds.

Love love Love they have the one money tree. And owl plant pot. Friendly help for what I wanted. Prices are not too spendy
