Derek Carwood for Better Homes & Gardens on gardening mistakes to avoid and beautify your property. While designing gardens for homeowners over the past 18 years, I've seen the good, the bad, and the just plain unsightly. Most of the time, it's the same simple design errors that leave a yard looking disorganized, unplanned, or.

A Mixed Bag - While I've had Nassar install and maintain my irrigation system for the past 5 years, I can speak highly of the know-how and attention up until this year. Unfortunately, this year they've jacked up their irrigation start up cost by >25% with absolutely NO ADVANCE NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS. It goes without saying, if you're going to charge more, you should communicate it to the customer prior to doing the work. Thankfully, there are an abundance of other, reasonably priced landscapers for future work.

Thank you to Nassar Landscaping for restoring my confidence in American business! There is little doubt that as a society, we have significantly lowered our expectations from American businesses. We have come to expect that the coffee or burger we ordered will be thrown over the counter to us, with not so much as a 'thank you' or a smile. We expect that the brand new television, or kitchen appliance will last but only a few years.
Even in healthcare, we expect that the Doctor treating us will be looking at his watch the whole time while we are asking ever so important questions. I don't blame the businesses. I blame us as consumers. We've allowed this to go on and on - - and businesses are simply providing what we are now accepting and buying. But - - - then there is Nassar Landscaping!
We just moved into our new home. Although it's 50 years old, it's our dream come true. We knew at the time of purchase that the lawn sprinkler system was in desperate need of repair. I contacted and interviewed 3 different, local companies. Two of the three companies didn't even spend time to triage or assess the existing pump, heads and piping. Instead they moved quickly to try to sell me a brand new system at extremely high prices - and worked passionately to convince me that what I already had was "junk". Joe Nassar from Nassar Landscaping then arrived.
He spent time looking at the existing system, and asking me a bunch of questions. After a careful assessment, he suggested that what I had already, could likely be salvaged - and he felt that it was certainly worth the risk of "at least trying to repair it", instead of throwing money into a new system. As promised, two technicians John and Matt arrived on the date and time we agreed to.
They dove into the triage of the system almost instantly. It's fair to say the weather conditions were pretty bad - from sudden, drenching downpours - to overbearing humidity - on and off, throughout the day. These gentlemen were outstanding in their technical ability, but more importantly their customer service skills, and overwhelming passion to "solve the puzzle" was second to none.
They never gave up! They kept a smile on their face (albeit a wet and sweaty one)! They informed me of their progress and challenges throughout their visit. Over the course of the day they remained focused on not just fixing the problem, but fixing it as fast as they could - often running back and forth for additional parts and supplies. I've managed employees my entire career and I'd be proud to have John and Matt work for me - anytime, anywhere!
And certainly Nassar Landscaping should be proud to have them as part of the Nassar family. So thank you Nassar for restoring my confidence in American business and American customer service. You truly are the best! Thank you again, Tom G.

I feel like I got raked over the coals with this company. I did my homework and got two comparable quotes for a fairly large job. I went with this company because they have been around for some time and thought they had fair pricing. After the job was started (a few days into it), I was informed the quote that was provided to me that we agreed upon increased by 50%.
That is not a great business practice. Because the job was already started and I didn't want to start my search all over again, I said you might as well finish the job. I'm happy with the work that was performed overall, however I am not happy the job was misquoted to begin with.

Landscapers can be very fly by night people. It is very hard sometimes to get a professional that knows their stuff. Joe and his company Nassar Landscaping is 110% knowledgeable in all aspects of their profession. I maintain over 2.5 acres of lawn and 5.3 acres of woods. Joe has helped me with irrigation, landscaping, pruning and trimming of my hardwoods and overall property maintenance. In my opinion there is no one better. You want it done right call Joe and this crew you will not be disappointed.
