Mike Hayes and Associates has been in the landscaping business in Franklin, TN since 1986. The company began with two employees, two pickup trucks and a small quarter- acre lot in downtown Franklin. We experienced steady growth to the point that in 1999 Mike purchased seven acres in the Coolsprings area and quickly developed it into one of the top landscape companies in the mid-state.

We were told we were "too particular" about the plants they put in our yard. They did a horrible job of cleaning the beds before mulching. Left all the dug up garbage weeds UNDER the mulch. Guess what we have now? Mulch with weeds. They could not locate 6' arborvitae, and brought ugly, mismatched plants for the front of our house. When we refused them, they never could locate any more(although they'd been paid for).
The only good service was hauling them away. Their irrigation people were very nice and did a good job installing, but it isn't working properly(which they are working on). The "landscaper" didn't fill in nicely where the pipes were laid(trip and ankle turn constantly) and did a mediocre job seeding and strawing the lawn. When we asked for better service, we were given huge, ugly, UNPROFESSIONAL attitude.
We had used this company 10 years ago when Mike Hayes owned it, and they were AWESOME. Under the new ownership, the experience has been a huge mistake. Would not hire them under any circumstances. Recommend you don't either unless you don't prefer quality and do like people you're paying thousands of dollars to, to give you attitude. It's too bad.
Used to be an excellent company. I gave them 1 star. Had there been fewer, it would be too much. We ARE particular, but we also expect decent service and quality plants from professionals. We replaced his substandard plants with nice plants and attitude from Site One(John Deere) on Hillsboro Road, and Hewitts. They were both terrific to work with.
