WHAT A DREAM BUSINESS! Prompt, clear communication. Great delivery service - their employee arrived exactly when he said he would and perfectly followed instruction to get 1cu yd. of topsoil dumped onto a tarp with no mess! The topsoil was premium quality and so affordable. If I can order from them for the rest of my gardening-life, I will.

They will take your deposit and then never commit to a date of service; they will barely communicate with you as almost giving you a favor for working with you; I can't speak to the quality of work but the process of scheduling work has been a nightmare!

Great service and almost always have what I need. Been coming here for about 4 years now and as a professional landscaper in DC this store is crucial. Bulk mulch is relatively cheap compared to other local companies and they have many native as well as unique exotic plants. A local DMV staple. Thanks Denchfield!

As a landscaping company, we are selective about the nurseries we work with and have been very pleased so far with the nursery at Denchfield. They offer quality shrubs at very fair prices, and have efficiently delivered small and large orders for us. The convenience of being able to see their selection online and do curbside pickup has been an added plus during the pandemic. Paul and his team are doing a fine job.

This review is for the nursery side. For 10+ years, almost every experience I have here is hellish. Employees are not available to help. customers are not allowed to come into the building, but I stood outside of the door for 10 minutes with $200 worth of stuff without assistance, and when I knocked on the door I was reprimanded. Checking out and they can't find prices for things so can't sell anything, staff people shouting across the lot cussing at each other, and general incompetence.

Either the people aren't trained or they are managed, if I were the owner I would be embarrassed. It is too bad that a local business is so poorly run. Maybe the landscaping side is better, but Home Depot provides a better customer experience, which is saying something.

My issues with Denchfield are with the front office and primary contact person for my job. I experienced very VERY poor customer service. My contact was unresponsive to occasional email queries. The receptionist for the front office was very unhelpful; I was trying to reach someone to discuss follow-through issues. I also think the limited work they did on my property was overpriced.

They agreed to send the crew out to improve their work at my request begrudgingly (flooding of my house got worse after job completion; they eventually fixed the problem). The workers on the crew were great on the other-hand.except for taking it upon themselves to pour gasoline at the base of my ancient oak tree to address a wasp issue. Maybe they don't get enough supervision/direction from their superiors.

Back to customer service, I cannot get a response on when they will replace the young tree the gasoline spill killed. All in all, the experience was unnecessarily unpleasant, and the management of the job was poor.

We have ordered mulch delivery a couple of times with Denchfield and could not be happier. The quality of the mulch is excellent and the price can't be beat. The delivery drivers are wonderful, careful, and so courteous. It's great to be able to support local awesome businesses, especially in these crazy times. Make sure to check them out and support them too (they also have a great plant selection).

Denchfield Landscaping has been doing our weekly mowing, edging, and general cleanup for more than a decade. They have always been punctual and friendly, and consistently do a thorough job. Usually, at least twice a year or more, we also need more major work done. In this time of social distancing and online necessity, I email them photos of the areas that need special attention, new planting, tree removal, etc. and in every case they have done the work and left things looking even better than I planned.

We are especially happy with a recent job that included turning over and renewing an old disused flower bed and providing a new planting of a bed of azaleas. The new plants are beautiful and very healthy.
