Fertilizing Lawns that are older then 35 years need on average 3 pounds of nitrogen per year, which can be accomplished in just 3-4 applications. Lawns that are usually less then 35 years old require 4-5 pounds of nitrogen per year - which should be applied in 4-5 applications. Good results from fertilizing can be achieved with as little as 3 applications per year, however if you want outstanding results, 4-5 applications of fertilizer should be applied each season.Annual pre-emergent weed control should be scheduled every year for the control of crabgrass and other annual weeds.
Artificial watering of new plantings during the first growing season is necessary. The first 2-3 weeks after planting, or during extreme weather conditions, are very critical to plant survival. Daily watering is usually needed during this time. New plants should be gradually soaked with a garden hose or sprinkler to the point of run off.

So, we've been with Pro-Turf for a couple years now but it took a long time to get them to come out the first time and get started - I think a couple months after I initially called. But, we've had 8 or so lawn treatments and they were pretty good at letting us know when they would be coming out but only gave us about 24 hrs notice. A few times however, we did not get a notice and that impacted our plans when they just showed up unexpected.
Out of the 8 visits to weed & feed, they were here and gone so quickly that I did question if they had actually done anything. The security cameras never detected any motion. I am not saying they billed me and performed no service, I am just doubtful that they treated the entire lawn without being picked up on motion cameras that trigger on every side of the house.
I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and say they did. My recommendation is you will get what you INSPECT more often than what you EXPECT.so be home when the treatments happen if you are planning to use this service. I recommended ProTurf to a neighbor in Jan '21. I did that because she is older and her son's don't always get the weed & feed treatments on time.
I told her to call and get an estimate, which she did. Pro-Turf did not understand she wanted an estimate and just came out and treated her lawn and gave her a hefty bill - about $180-ish I think. Anyway she was pretty unhappy that they didn't consult her and I was put in an awkward position after recommending them. I offered to give her the 'referral' credit that Proturf promised to help off-set the unexpected expense, but when I called PT they kept saying it would be reflected in "the next bill". Anyway, that credit never came and when I called them today they said the referral credit is only good if the person being referred get's THREE treatments and they had no record of me calling or emailing about referrals. Well, I could see how this was going - in spite of me telling them I had emails and phone conversations with Lauren to the contrary.
They let me know that Lauren had "Moved on." That's nice. They do seem to have problems holding on to people because I've had about 3 different guys do the lawn treatments over the past 2 seasons. Just an impression. So, since then I have not recommended them again and I can't recommend them now. I called today to cancel my service because I do not believe they are very organized with their customers or that they are delivering a cost-effective service. Your milage may vary. Good luck.

Unrelated to there work ethics i did just get cut off by one of your employees possible even the owner of the company. PS that dirt road has a stop sign if I wouldn't have slowed below the speed limit I would of hit you. With such little care for others safety I'm glad I've never done business with you nor will I ever.

I have used Pro Turf for along time. I have referred them to family and friends and new home owners on my block. It took only 2 years to straighten out my yard after I moved in. I now have a very noticeable dividing "line" where my grass is weed free and the neighbors is horrible! You cannot beat the value even if doing it yourself!

Recently had ProTurf out to refresh our landscaping. We purchased a model home with some pretty basic and sparse plants. Not too much curb appeal! We called Professional Turf, Inc who also fertilizes our lawn because we've been impressed with the lawn services we've received so far. Worked with Jeff to develop a landscape plan that worked in our budget and improved the overall look and aesthetic of our porch/front yard.
We were able to make a plan and get on the schedule pretty quickly. We had a plan for ProTurf to replace our mulch with river rock, relay weed barrier, swap out the black rubber edging for charcoal pavers, add pavers around tree, add 11 plants and repurpose some existing plants, and add a beautiful hydrangea tree. We also opted for black rubber edging and river rock along each side of the house.
The crew arrived on time and were very professional. Kept me informed of their progress and any issues that came up. They washed the rock, watered the plants, and picked up all debris. I think overall our lawn and driveway were cleaner after they left! We are so impressed with the results and can't wait to see how our landscaping evolves over the next couple years as the plants mature. Highly recommend!

I recently had a gentleman out to get an estimate for some landscaping work. After I told the gentleman what I wanted (old rocks and boarder removed and a retaining wall and river rock fill) he chuckled at me and said "we are a design company, why did you call us then?" He later told me he would "think about it" and has not gotten back to me nor pass along my information to a closer person he knew. I do not need to do business with someone so unprofessional and will take my business elsewhere.

We had a customer service issue that I originally rated them 1 star. However, shortly after posting my review the owner called and said they made a mistake (as they didn't have all the information when we talked) and they did take responsibility for the issue. I am impressed that they took ownership because they very easily could have maintained their innocence. Yes, they would have lost a customer, but the repairs will probably be more than a few years worth of trips for winterization and spring checkups
