Natorps history began in 1916, with my great-grandfather William A. Natorp. He traveled from Germany to Cincinnati. As a young horticulturalist, he placed an advertisement for landscape services in a Cincinnati Florist window. As a result, created Natorp's Landscape Design. Throughout Cincinnati, William started to designs gardens and landscapes. With his meticulous attention to detail, he gained a strong following in the community. When he became frustrated with the available quality and diversity of plants, it gave him an idea.

What a fantastic experience I had at Natorp's. I was looking for a specific perennial plant and there were two people fighting with each other to help me! All of the staff I spoke to were incredibly knowledgeable and they all looked as if they truly love their work. They were having fun. I will be back for sure!

Stopped in today 6/3/22 looking for yellow roses. I was immediately greeted by an employee inquiring if he could be of assistance. We then met a another employee to ask where the roses were located. This employee (Sharon) then went with me to where the roses were located. Sharon shared with me that she loved working at Natorp's, and was a long time employee.
She was amazingly helpful, and was an excellent representative of the Natorp's brand. The facility was huge, clean, and has everything you could want! I checked out at 2:14pm by another star quality employee. Her efficiency was most impressive! Where does Natorp's find employees that are so amazing? I was signed up for the Plant Club and saved money today. A great experience, some of the best, if not the best customer service ever!

Always have good healthy plants to choose from, the prices are as good or better than the big box stores, you handle the checkouts better than anyone. Most of all your employees are fantastic, every time I am there someone checks with you to see if you need any help, and they have excellent knowledge of the plants.

My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting Dawn Sunday morning at your Mason store. WOW! We needed HELP as we are not landscapers. It was like God sent us a gardening angel. She gave us great advice, was so helpful, allowed us to make choices with some suggestions. She was so nice, patient and kind. We went home placed everything and then came back for more. thankfully she was still there and more than willing to help us with round 2. We will be back for round 3 soon and pray Dawn is there to help again. You are lucky to have her on your team as her customer service is AMAZING.

Worked with a designer for months and the attention to detail and listening to the customer was MISSING. I spent more hours and money on books educating myself to ask the right questions of the designer. One tree I picked before they opened was not available and I was instructed to pick out a second option. I was told someone else would tag the plants and shrubs for my project.
I am not a novice to landscaping my properties. I am now starting over searching for a different landscaping service. So disappointing since they were recommended. FRUSTRATING!

I love this place. They have a great website to order online and do a curbside pickup. My entire backyard has been planted with bushes and perinnials from here. Everyone that works here is so nice and knowledgeable. Best selection I have found anywhere and the plants are taken care of very well. Don't want to think of the amount of money I have spent here.

Never realized how huge Natorp's is! Made a fatal mistake and went in the heat of spring while everyone else was shopping for spring clean up. They were PACKED. For this reason, we just looked around and didn't make a purchase. Be mindful of this! It was fun to look around and put a name to plants we have at home from previous owners. You could come here and get a good education on plants as each one has a sign with name and facts.
Outside trees look very healthy and we were happy to price out Magnolias. Pricing seems fair with other places and they offer a discount if you're in their club. Rumor has it it's just a email sign up but I can't confirm. Each worker we ran into were very friendly and helpful. It's a nice stroll with plenty of plant options!

While we were extremely satisfied with the help at the actual outlet, the customer service representatives have much to be desired. There was a mix-up with receiving a very large tree in lieu of the shrub we personally picked out and paid for. The first gentleman we talked to was kind, but clearly was unsure of how to proceed with such an issue. After promising to call back, we waited an appropriate amount of time before calling back ourselves.
The same gentleman forwarded us to the right people to get the issue resolved after we asked to stay on hold instead of waiting for another call back. The last woman we spoke to was presumptuous and rude, accusing us of not noticing we had brought the wrong plant home for multiple days when we had called the moment we received the tree. Nancy also claimed we should have brought the slip, blaming us for them not looking at the correct name, phone number, or item number on the tag.
We have someone else's tree with a totally different latin name and their personal name on the tag. Alan, who drove out to bring us our shrub and take the large tree, was delightful and apologized profusely for the mixup and the poor customer service. Its disappointing that our terrible customer service experience was bookended by such amazing interactions at the nursery and delivery.
I was aghast at the audacity of management to be so rude and accusatory. After the resolution of this experience I would rate the nursery at 5, the sales associates and delivery gentleman as 5, and customer service as 1 or 0.

There is no doubt that your plants are of the highest quality and you are open when they should be planted. It would be nice if we could buy some of the maintenance products and accessories all summer long. Maybe through a smaller garden center. Still a great retailer with excellent plants and advice

I was a bit angry when we lost our Natorp's in Union, KY, but after I finally got to their consolidated location in Ohio, I discovered is was worth the drive and I buried all my disappointment in enjoying the new store so much more than the old one. Prices are a lot better and the choices and variety of flora is amazing! It's wonderful that if you have any questions, there is usually a knowledgeable employee in an orange shirt to help you. This place is nothing short of excellent! I'm heading back tomorrow with the pick up truck!

I bought a wonderful plum tree today on sale. I was lucky it was the last one. They also helped me to learn how to prepare the dirt properly before planting. They are very sweet people & very helpful. The nursery is also HUGE I've never seen so many plants before. I will be back. Join the club; it's easy & fast to join at the register & you get better deals.
Not only was the price of my tree very reasonable but I received an additional 25% off so I received a great deal. Don't buy trees or plants on-line I got ripped off on-line. I learned the hard way that I could spend less money locally & find healthier & larger trees available here.

This is a superb nursery. They have everything you need from simple planting to larger scale landscaping. They may not be as cheap as the big box stores, but their plants are better quality and do not come with bugs. They often offer coupons in local deal savers so look for those. Super helpful and knowledgeable staff in every aspect of the business!

Customer service that sets the standard! Natorp's installed a large tree 18 months ago is struggling, with small leaves and a sparse crown. Since it's still alive and past the 1 year warranty period, I asked if they might be able to provide a much cheaper replacement tree or perhaps a buy one/get one free deal to compensate. Natorp's went above and beyond by offering a straight up replacement, several smaller replacements or a full credit. I have not found them to be that much more expensive, but the customer service has made me a customer for life!

We stopped by here to see what they had in the green thumb variety. It was a hot Sunday afternoon and the parking lot was full of eager gardeners. First off, we checked out the ice cream trolley in the parking lot - unfortunately melty offerings : - but this is about the garden center. So, they certainly have a lot of variety and a huge building of topsoils and mulches, and you'll probably find whatever it is you're looking for there.
But after many trips to many gardening centers, I just wasn't impressed with the quality of plants here. The veggies were bursting out of their little planters and the annuals were wilted and droopy. We watched as multiple employees watered the plants and hoped they have an underground cistern for water recycling, as the precious commodity mostly just watered cement. We even had a coupon, but it didn't make it worth our while.

I love gardening, but I HATE when plants die after all my planning, digging, fertilizing and watering. There's few things more depressing than walking out to a brown garden you've slaved over. So I've pledged never to buy another low-quality plant just because it's cheap. Natorp's is indeed more expensive than the hardware store, but they lovingly raise their plants to healthy and sturdy.
My garden looks gorgeous. And they have an interesting variety of unusual plants-- this spring, I was blown away by what looked to be over 100 herb choices, and their shade plant options go beyond the usual, "impatiens or begonias?" dichotomy. If you're looking for interesting plants that are going to last, visit Natorp's.
