Chuck is wonderful to work with. He is prompt and has good ideas and insight. The crew is polite and work hard. We have been using A.L for 10 or 11 years.

We couldn't be happier with our experience with A.L. landscaping. Compared to other landscaper's plans, A.L. had the best design by far and the quality of the workmanship is excellent. The team was very responsive and neat in their work. We are bringing them back in spring for more work. Chuck and Derick are awesome to work with! Highly, highly recommend!

I can only echo the comments from many of the other one star reviews here. Communication is terrible/nonexistent, they are happy to take the big deposit and not return phone calls for a very long time. The communication between the general manager and the workers is terrible and very frequently I had to redirect the workers to the project I was expecting not the project related to them by Dave.

I've also been surprised with big equipment showing up to do massive jobs with no Advance notice. This would have completely destroyed many items in my house if I hadn't been home that day. They do not guarantee their workmanship at all. You may be excited to use the credit they offer in the coupon flyers, but it is not worth it.

I hired AL Landscaping to do a small job for us that was supposed to be done summer 2019. They waited until Fall 2019 at which point it was a bad time for grass to grow. They placed seed rather than sod. Our contract said sod would be planted based on the location. They agreed to come back and make sure the grass would grow Spring 2020. They did come back but again planted seed which did not take because it's on a hill and when it rains everything washes away.

They came again to plant seed and I watered twice daily for 10-30 minutes each time and am left with giant weeds but no grass. I feel like weeds were purposely planted and not grass. I have tried reaching them many times to make this right with sod and no one will call me back. I am very upset that now we will have to plant sod ourselves after paying a lot for a project that wasn't completed.

If they would be willing. I would still give them the opportunity to plant sod and make this right, at which time I will be happy to change my review. Update: They fixed everything and I am much happier now. Thank you.

My entire front yard used to be a prairie garden jungle and I wanted to convert it to a normal grass yard. In addition, I wanted several bushes and trees saved but have the rest taken down. A.L. Landscaping put in a bid that was reasonable compared to other companies and they explained in detail in advance how they would do the job. They got the job done before Memorial Day as they promised and they were able to do the whole thing in just 2 days!

The grading and sod job they did was excellent and they provided me with helpful maintenance tips. They even provided me with a little extra mulch for a flower bed. Communication was great with Chuck and his team was professional and diligent. If I ever need landscaping done again I'll be sure to hire A.L. Landscaping!

I would love to provide feedback on how my landscaping work was done. However, they have not contacted me to schedule the work. I have not heard from them for weeks. They have my $900 deposit, and (I'm guessing) more lucrative contracts that get their attention. It has been a challenging summer for landscapers, I admit. But not THAT challenging. The summer is disappearing quickly. Disappointing.

I wish I could recommend A.L. Landscaping because the workers were diligent and did a semi-complete job, ending on December 10. Come spring, well, there was significant settling, not run-off, in the project (100 feet of retaining wall). After many emails and letters, we finally completed the job ourselves using 25, 40 pound bags of dirt and additional grass seed. NO follow-up or standing behind the work done. I have not and will not recommend this company to others.

Last fall I worked with Chuck Langfeldt with A.L. Landscaping to solve a problem with a crumbling retaining wall around my deck. In working with Chuck he pointed out that it was lack of proper drainage around and under my deck that was causing the problem, an issue I had not considered. Also, as there is a substantial slope leading to the lawn from the area around my deck, I was interested in having steps installed to mitigate that issue as well.

Although I was having problems envisioning the final result of the design, I trusted Chuck and I am completely thrilled with the results. I also cannot say enough good things about Derek and his crew in implementing the design and completing the project. I would give them the highest rating.

I have used AL Landscaping for years because they are simply the BEST! Chuck is great to work with! He explains everything and has great ideas for what will work in my yard. Their brick work is beautiful! I had a patio and walk done years ago and it still looks great! Other members of the AL team are respectful and hard working. From my experience you can't get any better than AL Landscaping!

As far as I am concerned AL Landscaping is the best! I have literally been going back to them to have work done for years. I had them tear out my deck and put a beautiful patio in. That went well so another year they did my walk and steps in the front yard. Another beautiful job! I referred them to a friend of mine who had a patio put in and she was very happy.

They have done various plantings and are such a great company to work with. Chuck has great ideas, lots of tips and explains everything. The AL Team is respectful and hardworking. I would not go anywhere else.

After reading the negative reviews I'm going to flip the coin and share a few excellent experiences. In late 2015 we hired AL landscaping to build a terraced stone wall in our backyard. They did an excellent job. In 2016 they built a beautiful stone patio under our deck. This was a very challenging project for them as we had a lot of drainage issues they had to resolve first.

The communication and responsiveness to our concerns were first class. Phone calls and emails were returned in a timely matter. They showed up on schedule, kept us informed and kept the work site clean. We get rave reviews from everyone who sees the patio. In 2017 we hired them to make a stone path along the side of our house to the patio in matching stone. It was a small project that they finished in a couple of days. It was another professional job.

They did a small job at our condo and the Bobcat did some minor damage to the roadway. When asked about it, Mr. Ronne said that was a risk with Bobcats (he had not mentioned this in advance) and that he would do nothing about repairs. Not worth bothering with it any further, but caveat emptor.

I have been trying to get them to plant the tree. That I won on their Madison Bids Auction. For over a month now. No tree. No call. No response. They said they would be out by this Friday and have the tree in. 6/26/2015. Guess what. No call. No tree. No response. I wonder how they can manage to keep a large customer when they don't even respect a small customer. Stay away. RUN Away if you can. I will change this if something makes it right.
