On the East Coast we have only one species of nectar feeding bird, the Ruby-Throated Hummingbird. Therefore, to attract bright flashes of moving color to our gardens, we look to the butterflies. Butterflies are nectar-feeders; their long coiled tongues unroll to reach the nectar reward provided by the plant.

It's as though you're pulling into someone's reasonably well-lansdcaped backyard. To call this a nursery or garden center is insult to both terms. There were no other customers there, nor sign of any staff, so I didn't get out of my car. The "garden center" comprised a couple tables of day-lilies, and nothing else, as far as I could tell. It's well off the beaten path and not worth the trip.

Made a special 2 hr drive to come here. Haven't been since the 90s. There is nothing here anymore. The greenhouses are run over with weeds. The shop is not open. Apparently they still welcome guests to walk the gardens but no one was there.

Beutiful flowers, no one was there when we went, but the sign said enjoy the gardens! I plan on going back to hopefully meet Andre. I use to listen to his radio show, he is a wealth of knowledge.

I've wanted to go to the gardens for years now, and today my newly wed wife and I finally went. The place was deserted, the gardens run down, tiny, and unremarkable. Not a person in sight on the grounds. VERY disappointing! Don't waste your time.

OH my! We drove all the way up there and this place is a dump! Nothing has been tended in years, there are NO flowers, just weeds and trash. The buildings are falling down and there are old broken-down cars parked there. No one was there, no one answered the phone. The office was locked up and dust was everywhere when you look through the window. Clearly they have abandoned this place so don't waste your time. What a major disappointment! A

Another great visit! Late blooming lilies are beautiful! Brenda and I especially liked the tall yellows. Mark was there and escorted us around and answered all our questions. The Annabelle & Limelight hydrangea were in their full glory. Plumbago, hosta, and Resurrection lilies were gorgeous! We were lucky enough to run in to Andre & Claire around the corner at Barren Ridge Vineyards. Great visit all around

The Viette's are wonderful. Always willing to help with garden questions. Their daylily collectioin is unsurpassed and worth the visit. The Viette's offer garden workshops (most are FREE). They are worth the time and most times you walk away with free divisions or cuttings.

Our family visited June 3, 2017. We were greeted warmly by Mark and a volunteer. I told him I had wanted to visit since the 1990's so Mark spoke to us about the history of the nursery and introduced his Mother to us. After touring the nursery we made our decisions on what to buy (difficult with limited trunk space) and as we checked out he surprised us with a gift daylily! We felt so special! What a lovely nursery.
