Gates + Associates is a group of 30+ creatives coming together to make life better with one simple goal - getting people outside. Our forte is connecting our clients to the nature around them. The root of our designs is based on the primary function of the space, the user experience, and then grown organically into a design that suits those needs.
We are a wildly adventurous group of landscape architects with a thirst for life and an unsettling desire for enhancing the world. We take a design idea and see it through to a built usable space that gets everyone outside. Our design starts with a seed and ignites into a place. We create outdoor spaces full of energy, life, living, gathering and sharing which call you to be outside.
Fremont residents & commuters are loving the newly-opened Warm Springs BART bridge & plaza, where Gates served as plaza designer. Former industrial land is now a mixed-use Transit-Oriented Development near new BART station, woven together by Gates' landscape & planning. Each year, Gates + Associates is fortunate to donate our services to a variety of projects throughout the Bay Area. Growth can potentially overwhelm cities, but the City of Fairfield is taking charge of its future with Gates' help.
