We are licensed by the state of California and possess a C27 landscape license. This gives our clients the ability to deal with one contractor to design and build your entire project. We have established relationships with engineers, architects city/ county inspectors and have the expertise to manage any size project.

I am dedicated to providing quality landscape projects that give homeowners' the value they deserve. I personally manage each project keeping an eye on detail, aesthetics and scheduling. We back up our work with great customer service and some of the best warranties in the landscape industry. Prior to attending college, Larry entered the construction field; working for a general contractor, maintaining apartment complexes and working for the county servicing bridges.To help pay for college, Larry worked as a carpenter installing science labs and libraries for schools.

East rock did my backyard couple of months ago. Larry and his crew had done a fantastic job. Like everyone else, I did my research, short listed three vendors and picked Larry even though the other contenders were reputed companies. On the hind side I think I made the best decision. Larry and his crew are dedicated, professional and creative. Larry drove to Napa to pick Merlo plants for my little vineyard.
That shows his commitment to his customers and the passion for his profession. Very detail oriented guys. His crew kept the place clean on a daily basis. My wife was very appreciative of them considering the horror stories she heard from our neighborhood with other contractors. Overall Larry and team are my 5 star contractors ever. Would recommend them any day. Here is the best part of all. Larry completed the job on TIME! Yep, That's unbelievable in this industry. Great job guys!

I work alongside with plenty of local landscape contractors, as I usually do the maintenance once they have moved on to new projects. Larry and his crew have completely stepped up to the plate to fix old, existing issues with the irrigation, neighbor vegetation encroachment, and other daily snafus. Even though Eastrock's work was not the issue (as these problems had been in play for years), Larry got right on it. Eastrock found a valve leak which no one else could discover, saving the homeowner and all us thirsty Californians, plenty of precious water. Two Thumbs UP!

We are looking for a landscaping company for a backyard remodeling. After reading the positive reviews about Eastrock, I called and tried to get more info about their services. The first call was placed more than 2 weeks ago and I just placed another call last Friday just in case they didn't get my first voicemail.three business days later, still haven't received a call back.
If a company can't even return a phone call for possible new work, I don't have much confidence about them being reliable, which is a very important professional trait for me. So, scratching them off my short list of landscapers.

Larry and his crew from Eastrock recently installed a front and back yard to our newly built house in the Alamo Creek development in Danville. Because it was a big project to me, I interviewed 10 contractors and asked/received bids from 5. The list was eventually narrowed down to Larry and another firm. The final decision to go with Larry was made after speaking to his references; all whom gave him rave reviews.
After working with Larry, I must agree with those references. We were very pleased with the process as well as the outcome. His crew (Sergio et al) was really efficient and knowledgeable. Larry was readily available to provide clear explanations to any questions we had. We had a few changes from the original design that was prepared by an independent designer. Larry was more than fair in pricing those changes and even did not charge for some.
In hindsight, we should have used Larry for the design because he would have provided more constructive feedback on how things could look. We are really excited that the project was completed in the said timeframe and the landscape is ready for the holidays. To reiterate from other posters, Larry is genuinely a nice guy, who was great to work with.

What didn't I love about my experience with Eastrock Landscape - nothing! From the moment I met Larry he was friendly, open to my ideas and conveyed both honesty and confidence. I trusted my gut and didn't interview any other Landscape Contractors and I never regretted my decision. During our discussion of my project and throughout the entire process, Larry earnestly listened, was very available (answering my calls and questions) and gave me valuable feedback.
My project consisted of: (1) demo of driveway, walkway, front yard and back yard, upgrade to water system, (2) install stamped driveway, designed new and additional walkway with Sentimental Custom Medallion, (3) new lighting front and back, (4) new yard design, sod and plants. Although unplanned, I added additional work, such as: (1) demo existing patio cover, (2) construct custom patio cover, (3) construct custom wood trellis, (4) construct custom wood planter, (5) install new concrete step, and (6) install new fence.
During the entire project Larry and his team were very professional, but friendly and came in on budget. I admit it, I am a perfectionist, but it didn't matter, because Larry and his team took pride in their work, always providing a quality work product. We got our landscaping done (both front and back yard) for our new home by Eastrock Landscape last year in summer 2012. We initially found Eastrock via a Google search and were very impressed with the company's extensive website. Larry Mertz, the owner, was extremely professional, friendly, and honest from the first time we met with him. We interviewed three other contractors who submitted competing bids but ended up going with Eastrock due to the reasonable cost, viewing their other completed jobs in the area, and talking with references.
We first worked with a landscape architect to develop the design plans, and Larry made himself available to give feedback and suggest alternative options that would be consistent with our overall vision, especially when we had to make difficult decisions in order to stay within our budget. His crew always showed up on time and were very professional and courteous. Larry stopped by regularly to oversee the work as well.
After about four months, we had a beautiful front and back yard, which we now enjoy very much. As part of our contract with Eastrock, they also provided a warranty on any plants that died, and Larry and his team just recently replaced the dead plants with new ones.
