I wish I had read these reviews before hiring Rexius to do our landscaping plan. We hired them in October 2020 and it's now June 2021! We worked with Gabe who did our initial landscape plan and plant list. It took awhile to get the initial plan, but we weren't in a hurry because we needed to install a lawn before the plants went in. In the spring of 2021, we asked Gabe to come out to re-look at the property and revise the plant list so we could order the plants and rock.
We told him we were now in a hurry, and he said he'd "get right on it." We didn't hear from him for a week or so, so I called him and his voicemail said he was on vacation. I waited until he got back from vacation and called him again. After no return calls, I called his manager who then had Gabe call the next day. He then sent the revised plant list, but didn't update the plan to show where the plants should go -- and now he's not returning calls again.
So I called his manager again yesterday. I have not heard back yet. It's disappointing that a Eugene company that's been around so long is not living up to their supposed reputation and obligations. We wanted help with our landscape and, if they had done a good job on this one, there would have been lots more business coming their way -- not only for my own properties, but I am a real estate agent and I would have liked to have found a good landscaper to refer to my clients.

Efficient, friendly, and very helpful! I called with questions about installing a flagstone patio. I spoke with Natalie who was able to answer my questions thoroughly and was even able to arrange same day delivery of my gravel. I'm looking forward to working with them to get the sand and flagstones as well!

I ordered 2 and a half units bark blown in. I said I didn't want big chunks but medium. What I got was slivers, no chunks at all. if this isn't fine I can't imagine what fine would be. It is all over in my house, gets on my pets, shoes, clothes and even have found it in my hair. I'm really upset. Don't order unless you inspect what you are getting. The crew did a nice job but the product bad.

Rexius did a good job overall of design and install of renovated front & back yard, pergola, and irrigation system. The end result is pleasing. However, there were significant hitches worth knowing about (keep in mind, this was a $38,000 job). Overall, Rexius is a big reliable local company. They have a lot of nice products, and landscape, maintenance & irrigation services. Rexius is a good option, **if** you are super-informed, cautious, double-check everything they do at each phase, do your research and stay on top of the work. Rexius now treats me like a pariah.
The landscaping dept. won't do business with me anymore. A first for me. I need replace a tree they planted that died 1.5 years later, (warranty is 1 yr.). Originally I gave a 4-star review. Since Rexius holds grudge for stuff not my fault, making me the bad guy, I'm reducing to 3 Stars, to explain my side of the story fairly and honestly so people can decide for themselves.
What I went through would have stressed *anyone* out ($38K is a *big* investment!). Part of the problem was the designer and labor manager, was undergoing severe personal/family stress, which limited responsiveness & followthrough making it difficult to address issues early and easily. While I have empathy and care about that person, I *had* to protect our investment and get the work done correctly and professionally. I've assumed it was a bygone. 1.
Setting expectations, communication issues: There was insufficient notification about timing, when how work would unfold. They'd start, stop, sometimes leaving it for a week or two without letting us know the plans, or being reachable. Odd to have yard *totally* ripped-up going into Summer not knowing when they're coming back or why a the sudden change, just left hanging. Landscaper was difficult to get ahold of at key times, sent to voice mail. HQ only pass thru to VM.
Sometimes there was a need to correct something going in or make a decision at a key time. I think early job discussion should mentioned *large* increase in water bill only mentioned at *end* of job. Also pavers had light storage damage I wasn't told about. No big deal long term but should have been warned. 2. Follow-up: Due to problems I describe below, the job went over estimated time.
They were in a rush to start their next job, so I never got some info about maintenance and care I was promised, specific to what was planted, This put us in an awkward situation about how to best care for everything. We had some problems I had to figure out the hard way. 3. Failed design/install of "Dry Creek Bed" style French drain The designer gave us dry creek style French Drain to carry water to the street to address drainage issues.
Though I knew the land sloped up toward the street, they measured and had a plan to make it work. But it didn't work. Not only did it fail to carry water away, it created a new problem of water filling-up like a lake 3 ft from a corner of the house foundation! That's a big construction no-no. I had to make a big issue of it to Rexius management to get it corrected, entailing installing a sump pump and electrical at my expense (except pump installation).
Eventually designer admitted not knowing about the construction rule about standing water being kept 10 ft from foundation. This was very stressful for all concerned. 4. Bark mulch. There was never discussion or customer buy-in about the color of the bark mulch they'd install. I didn't even realize it would/could be an issue. They never asked what kind or color I wanted.
We live in the South Hills where the theme is darker and "forest" but they ended up blowing in a rather orangish light bright mulch I would *never* would have agreed to. I was not happy about it and had to go in to ask mgt to replace with for a brown/darker color and say I was opposed to being charged to correct that. Initial effect of what they put in was desert-like and grating.
They fixed it. But it was the 2nd time I had to go to higher mgt to work it out. 5. Yard maintenance service (different dept): Reliable schedule but details missed. Be VERY careful about costs and estimates! We wanted basic yard care and seasonal leaf clean-up. They gave me a wide ranging of estimates for 1st mo, but I could NOT get any idea what my 1st month bill would be.
At all! Despite countless questions. Got runaround. Finally decided, based on discussions, it should max out at $600 for mowing, leaf cleanup, basic stuff on new landscape; steep price. But by the 3rd week it was $800! By 4th would have been $1000. NOT expecting that! Furious about $800. And prospect of $1000, I canceled after 3wks. I've done leaf blowing here 10 years, and I *know* there was no justification for that kind of cost! Gouging. I'd even told them 3-4 of times I wanted some weed taken care of small and not many in new landscape, but new crew came out each time. Nobody did anything about it. $800 for 3 wks. IMO not worth it!

Today at 12:30, while my husband was riding to work on Chambers St in Eugene, one of the truck drivers began yelling inappropriate things at him because of his outfit. Then continued to drive 45 mph in the middle of town. Wish I'd thought to take down his license plate number. Really can't believe this behavior, especially while working

THEY DONT CARE! I live at Westmoreland Apts off W 18th Av. These guys dont pay attention to what they do, or they dont care! They blew dead leaves an branches onto the grass an left it for a week so my poor little dog ran into a branch pile an yelled in pain! Kids play here also. I have an area where I keep potted plants an they blew leaves an dirt there right after I had swept an cleaned the area.
I call to talk to someone an they direct me to Westmoreland. I said I had a complaint but THEY DONT CARE! What harm is it to listen to what I have to say? THEY DONT HAVE PRIDE I. THEIR WORK. THEY LEAVE BINS FILLED WITH LEAVES ALL THE TIME.

Rexius is the landscaping company for the apartment complex I live in. The workers have to constantly be reminded by management to pick up the trimmings, blow off people's porches after blowing dirt and yard debri all over them or to not skip certain areas. About a month ago, one of the workers blew dirt onto a tenants guest's car, and it got inside her car through the sunroof.
When the owner of the car asked the worker to please wait while she unloaded 2 small kids from carseats before continuing, he smiled and blew the leaf blower directly at her. Today, a whole row of apartments lost cable and internet (Comcast). Knowing that Rexius had just left here, and seeing trimmings from bushes that they trimmed with hedge trimmers just left on the ground, a few of us investigated and discovered the Comcast box cover was knocked off and 5 wires had been cut.4 completely severed by Rexius.
Not one crew person told management or anyone here for that matter. It appears that they knew it happened, and left here in a hurry. We notified management and Comcast, who will be dealing with this tomorrow. I seriously don't know why our apartment complex continues to use your services. I have pictures, but unsure how to share here directly.

Paid for eleven yards of barkmulch to be delivered, recieved just under nine yards. Called to see if they were coming back with more and was told this was it. They were not willing to make it right. I know full well how to calculate sq.yd. volume and I've been shorted more than 2 full yards. Not happy. Now I have to buy more from someone else. T. in Cottage Grove.

A big shout out to Rexius Landscaping for their ill mannered Landscaper that is using a leaf blower and blowing debris all over the cars and into my car at Capital Manor Apartments today. I was dropping off my daughter and grandsons and had the sunroof open as usual when all the sudden there is debris flying all over the inside of the car as we were trying to get the boys unbuckled.
I quickly closed the sunroof. (Please note that the Landscaper was not working where we were at when we parked and we had been there a couple of minutes gathering the boys things and waking one of them up.) I grabbed my phone and got out and noticed debris all over the truck next to us too. I started filming briefly and obviously should have kept filming because the Landscaper didn't apologize but was rude.
After I told him he got debris all over the car on the outside and inside he threw his arms out to the side and then motioned for me to move. I told him "No, you're going to wait until we get the kids unloaded" and then proceeded to unload the kids. I got back in the car and as I backed out he blew the leaf blower at my car again. It took me about three minutes to get home and call Rexius and when a brief description of why I was calling was given to the woman who answered the phone I was then transferred to a voicemail. An apology or someone actually caring that a representative of their business just blew debris all over the outside and inside of a car that is 7 months old and was brand new at the time of purchase would have gone a long ways.
Not to mention possibly apologizing for their employees bad attitude. Thanks Rexius! Cleaning the dirt, leaves, tree debris, and other nastiness out of my car and off of my car is just what I wanted to spend my time and money on today. 2 hours of my time and $24.99 later it's cleaned up.

Ok after some delay, I posted a review to complain about a promised estimate deadline misssed. Then, in 7 minutes after that posted, I received the estimate. So I took that review down but I have to wonder if I wasn't given a grudge estimate. $4500 for a 45 foot long paver walkway seems a little steep to me. Nice enough folks, but I'll keep looking.

First, arrived 15 minutes early for the estimate. Rang the doorbell, interrupting a business call. Said "people like us to show up early." Huh? During the first visit, cut the main water line into my house. Their president said, "We made a mistake." When I pointed out that they were not functional, they dropped the job by way of a snotty email. Very bad experience.

WARNING! I have heard several cases reported of HORSE TAIL infestations that start when rexius installed mulch, Their prices are high and the quality of their products is usually lumpy and sub-standard. I have been treated rudely when dumping here. One person I know had them install a lawn and it has been nothing but a disaster for them, the lawn is so wet and mushy that the guys can't even mow it. They left the job unfinished, and broke the sprinkler system with out repairing it. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
