R&D Landscape was founded by two Michigan State University graduates in 2001, who set out to provide great service for customers, all the while maintaining their lifelong friendship and business relationship. This is still true today. What started as a two-man team has grown into a thriving company. Here at R&D Landscape, we value the people who choose to work for us.

Russ and Doug initially became friends back in first grade, and have continued to grow in their friendship over the years with mutual passions for the outdoors and ideals of honesty and integrity. After working at a landscape nursery together during high school, they both went on to attend Michigan State University for Horticulture degrees where they continued to gain experience at local landscaping companies. In 2001, Russ and Doug decided to open up shop of their own, and R&D Landscape was born.
We've been providing superior landscape services to Lansing, Michigan and surrounding communities since 2001. Lawn aeration can be an incredibly beneficial service for your lawn when done with the proper lawn aeration equipment at the right time of the year. I contacted R and D Landscape to remove my front lawn so I can convert it to perennials and edibles. They got me a very reasonable quote right away and worked me into their schedule of much larger jobs.

Amazing people who work hard to make it an enjoyable productive experience. Initially, we started with looking into irrigation for our yard. That spanned into some additional work on the yard, spring cleanup and a fertilization program. If something didn't go right they fixed it immediately. I would work with T&D again anytime.

R&D completed a major landscape makeover at our house, and we found working with them to be an excellent experience. Clay and Garret did a great job overseeing the project from start to finish, and their field people were courteous, hard-working and kept us informed throughout the entire process. We were very impressed with R&D Landscaping. Charlie helped us plan out our project and spent time answering our many questions. Communication was clear, timely and effective. The guys that worked on our property were kind, respectful and hard working. It was a 3-day project, and they thoroughly cleaned up each evening. Our exterior looks exponentially better. We highly recommend them!

Russell and his team did a tremendous job transforming our backyard into the oasis we need during this time in which travel plans have to be amended -- instead of the vacations we had planned pre-pandemic, we needed to be able to step into our backyard to feel like we were getting away. From the first consultation to the rendering, from the first day of work until everything was tidied up, we are grateful to Russell and his crew for turning our vision for a patio getaway into a reality.

We needed our beach area completely redone and were having a hard time finding a company. R&D came to the rescue and did an amazing job. They communicated throughout the whole process, worked through our ideas and even some last minute changes. The work was amazing. They cleaned up every night and at the end of the project. We had R&D Landscape help us with a major backyard project involving expansion of our existing patio, retaining walls, a curved seat wall around our fire pit, a grill station and a walk-way. The plan includes planting and additional landscape to be done soon. From start to finish Clay and his team were awesome to work with. We really looked forward to seeing the guys each day, Tony, Bryce, and Ben were so kind, friendly and professional.
They also explained everything and answered all our questions. We absolutely love the space and can not wait for the finishing touches.
