Van's Landscape Construction

I've asked these people to come out to my house for both my back yard and front yard. Three years ago, they were working in my area and I liked what I saw when they were done with my neighbors house. I asked them to give me a quote to do my back yard. This dragged on for about a month and half of asking when they would show up. They never showed.

Here we are three years later and asking them come check out my front yard. Giving them the benefit of doubt because maybe they were slammed at the time. (Not an excuse to pick up the phone and say you're too busy). I've been asking for over two months now and here we go again. So, fool me twice, shame on me. I've seen their work, it's nice, but it's not worth the headache of waiting around and pushing back my project because of their terrible communication.

Exceptional work daily from start to finish. These guys are simply amazing! We were new construction so we needed full landscape for our front and backyard. Kris came out heard our thoughts and ideas and created a plan that surpassed anything we imagined. From the time the job started until it was finished his guys were on site and ready to work. Might I say they were awesome as well!

The attention to detail was on point. Kris used quality materials and did not try to shortchange us with low value plants and materials. Every plant, tree, stone was selected with care. We took value in knowing that he cared about what he was using more than his bottom line. Van's completely transformed our dirt into a dream. He was even able to have gutters installed to feed into our new drainage system. From the garden boxes, waterfall fountain to fire pit it can be done with Van's. I could go on and on but just know you won't be disappointed!

What can I say. It has been a great joy to work with Kris and his team. Kris did an outstanding job with our landscaping. We gave him a general concept on what we wanted but he was awesome on helping us in filling the gaps of the design. Me and my wife are extremely happy on how our landscaping turned out. We are always getting compliments from our neighbors. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Van's Landscape, they are professional and their estimates are reasonable. Thanks Kris and team!

The owner, Kris met with us and was an absolute delight. His experience was clear from the beginning, he worked with us to create a customized design for our backyard so that we could finally blow away our block for our turn hosting the big 4th of July BBQ. You know how the contractors on HGTV have a detailed discussion with the homeowners and then create a specific plan with artistic renderings? You know how in real life a dude hops out of his truck with a measuring wheel and says, "we can do some concrete, some plants, it'll look nice, um.this much money, " and doesn't even write anything down? Van's is more similar to what you see on TV. Kris and his team are true professionals.

During the estimate phase, Kris had a real discussion with us about our overall vision for the landscape and design elements we like/dislike. After a week or so, he presented a custom proposal that was drawn to scale, including the exact placement and name of each plant. He gave us a realistic timeframe for when he'd be able to start working on our project.

Once Kris and his team started work, they came every morning and worked into the afternoon everyday (except Sunday) until the project was finished. I really appreciated that they weren't juggling multiple jobs, disappearing for several days, as some do. We're very happy with the finished product. Kris has an artistic ability that really brought the design to life, and his team's skill is evident in the quality of the work.

We give Van's Landscape five stars because of Kris's (the owner) artistic ability, the great care and precision of his employees, the quality of work, and how pleased we were with the beautiful end result, which speaks for itself in our photos. Kris worked with us from design concept to installation, though we were far away, out of state.

He and his office were pleasant and accommodating. Once the job was begun, Kris and his workmen stayed with it until it was completed, which we really appreciated. Kris's company and workers are skilled in all the aspects of landscaping we wanted--concrete, lighting, gas fire pit, garden boxes, and hard and soft-scape. As with all construction jobs we would recommend paying close attention so that plans are done as you agreed and contract details and expenses are tracked because the workers are interpreting what is on paper. Jose and Abundio (Kris's employees) are amazing for their work ethic, precision, and communication. Jose (the lead) answered all our questions and was very pleasant to work with.

Van's Landscape construction is great! Van's breaks the stereotype of what people think of with a contractor. Their communication has been excellent from our first email to all our calls and need for information. Kris drew a beautiful landscape design and made our vision (combined with his great taste and experience) come to life. What better than we envisioned.

His crew is respectful, hard working and detail oriented. We love our ne custom concrete patio and entry way, the patio cover and rest of the landscape is amazing. We love the LED lighting, it adds so much to the look and feel of the yard. So happy we would highly recommend him to any one. We are retired and sometimes can be worried about being taken advantage of, but Kris proved his reputation and treated us with respect and produced way more than we hoped for. I don't normally post reviews because I don't feel a strong need to. That doesn't make my account "fake". However, if a customer doesn't get a response after trying to contact you multiple times, then that is just not a good business practice. It is fine you don't want the job. In regards to your measurements, you told us you would do it based off Google Maps.

I did not see any actual measurements made nor did I get any response since talking to your wife. I'm not trying to bash your company, but I will warn others of my experience. Thank you for responding after I made things public.

Kris did a wonderful job with our backyard. It has become everything we dreamed of! We love just sitting outside and enjoying the views of our beautiful yard and have received so many compliments on our patio! I would recommend Kris without any hesitation. He's been there when we had any questions and listened to all our concerns and desires along the way!

We called several landscape contractors to give us estimates and chose to work with Kris of Van's. We are so glad we did. He and his crew, including his wife Denise, did an excellent job of keeping us informed and answering all of our questions (via calls/emails) very quickly along the way. We had Kris design a beautiful landscape for our front and back yard and it looks amazing.

We trusted his experience. The result was WAY better than we had hoped for. The concrete details are wonderful and our new patio cover is going to help us enjoy the hot summer days. Kris picked out and placed each plant individually, you can really tell he cares about the work he does. So many details go into making a landscape that we where unaware of, drains, grading soil preparation, lighting etc.so happy with the final product!

We highly recommend Van's Landscape construction! They are not the cheapest but we have learned that you definitely get what you pay for and our home is a huge investment. We wanted the best contractor and that's just what we got.

I'm giving them one star for the following reason. I called and asked about a quote, I was told that the husband would look at my property and call me back. I received a phone call letting me know that he had looked at my property on line, asking me what I was looking for and then he said he would draw up a plan and he would have a quote for me in a week.

Before we hung up he asked me what my budget is, I said I'm a single mother not looking to spend too much but would like something nice done. He said ok call you in a week. That was the end of June. Today is July 13, I have called left messages and still have not heard from them. If he doesn't want to work with me, common. Courtesy would be to call me and sat that they don't want to do business with me.

I didn't want to give a $$$$$ figure because I wanted to see what he can do and for how much first. I gave myself a budget of $2500 but I didn't want to say that cause I don't want to be taken advantage of either. I think is very unprofessional to not answer my calls or messages. To not tell me you don't want to work with me, believe me if that's the case I'll be good with that. There's other landscaping places. So the reason for my review is that, just common courtesy. Call people back like you said you would.

Just moved to Hemet and needed our backyard done. The previous owner kept the property immaculate, but never did anything with the backyard. After the rainy season ended, our backyard was weeds and I found Van's Landscape on the internet. After calling a couple of places it was clear that Kris, the owner, was the best choice. It took a month to complete and it came out beautiful. Tons of concrete, artificial turf, rock scape, plants, lighting, drainage, irrigation, horseshoe pit, and now I have a beautiful very low maintenance backyard. Highly recommend Van's Landscape Construction!

Posting on behalf of my parents that live in Hemet. Kris Vanderschuif didn't complete the work he was contacted to do and his crew created and left a bunch of leaks in the drip system. After spending over $7,000.00 you'd think he'd at the very least return phone calls, finish the job and fix the leaks. We chose Van's based on a reference, but if you're a senior, I'd recommend choosing a different contractor so he doesn't take advantage of you too.

I have always wanted a ZEN garden and Van's landscaping did not disappoint. I have a dry river in the front yard with beautiful shrubs, plants and rock formations. There is a waterfalls built in the backyard and a ZEN garden where it is perfect for meditation. The plants, trees and shrubs are are coordinated and goes well with each other. Van's landscaping is highly recommended.

Having recently purchased a new home in Southwest Hemet, I wanted a rear yard that was low maintenance, drought tolerant and ascetically pleasing. Kris came to our home, listened to our needs and concerns, and then came up with a detailed design that addressed 100% of our needs at an affordable price. The end product was completed in a reasonable amount of time and is both beautiful and functional. I couldn't be more pleased.

This guy is great! I wouldn't think twice about referring friends and family to him. He knows what he is talking about and he is the best in his class. I had him put in some queen palms and he did some concrete work as well. Vans can do it all!

Kris, owner @Van's came to our home and listened carefully to my landscape needs. Our neighbors recommended their services to us after they had great results when Van's completed their landscape. Kris drew up a great design and gave us a proposal that we happily agreed to. From the beginning to the end our experience was excellent.
