They're better than our last service, but not by much. At most, I'll call them "well intended" but there is ZERO communication. The service has become as stagnant as our moss filled ponds. Their field personnel know what needs to be done ( in addition to the already scheduled service ) so we ask for a quote for improvements. We asked for 6 months and when we finally got one, it was for one component not everything we asked about. It's like their field people know their job but the office is just bad at communicating. That's a shame, we have a lot of work to do on our ponds and are willing to pay, but it's like pulling teeth trying to get a quote. Also, the service we got in the first few months was great. I sure miss those first few months.

Bill's entire team was very respectful of our wishes and finished the pond repair and remodel in the promised amount of time. However, we are very picky and had a different vision for some of the rock placements. Knowing that contractors can be sensitive about their work we were hoping Bill would be amenable to the changes we wanted. He was so easy to work with and did exactly what we wanted and then some.
He repaired plumbing in the pond which we didn't anticipate as an issue, but turned out to be the major reason we were losing so much water. He also put in several plants to give us the idea of softness it would add to the rocks. Additionally, he installed a valve to help us regulate the flow which has bothered us for over 10 years now; the original contractor told us nothing could be done about it. We now enjoy the sound of a babbling brook versus Niagara Falls. I would highly recommend Bill and certainly would call him again if work is needed.

We worked with this company for a number of years successfully, however they seem to be spiraling downhill now. They charged a a step fee for work that resulted in a non-functioning pump within a week. We asked repeatedly for an Itemized bill, but it never came, phone calls were not answered etc. Finally someone came to "fix" the pond and it was non-functional again within two days. Sadly we're moving on.

Bill came out and said he'd email a quote. After a few weeks, I hadn't heard anything so I called. Bill lost the information and had to come out again. I should have bailed but I proceeded. After the pool was installed, it leaks. It's been a couple of weeks and nothing so far. You can't email or text them, only leave voice messages. Sometimes they call back. Sometimes they say they will come and they don't. They are not worth the frustration.

This is now my second time using Pondman. Great experience both times. He is able to come out and resolve the problem quickly. I don't understand most things about my pond and have many others come out for service. I am glad that I discovered Bill because I trust him and would call him for any future pond issues.

Bill seemed so pleasant when I spoke with him on the phone! He called me back in the morning and offered to come out that day after lunch. When he hadn't called by 2pm I called the office to see if they had an ETA and his receptionist was rude and had no idea I was on the schedule. She sounded like she could care less about the service. After another hour we ended up contacting someone who was 1) helpful and 2) customer service oriented.
I called back to cancel, not knowing if Bill was planning on coming or not and left a voicemail. An hour later I called back to confirm that they received my cancellation and the receptionist gave a great big sigh and explained she hadn't checked the voicemails today. I thanked her for the help but let her know we were canceling and I got another big sigh and a frustrated "ok" and then she HUNG UP. What?!? I put my phone down and actually laughed. Bill, your work seems great but your receptionist is not doing your business any favors.
I called back to cancel, not knowing if Bill was planning on coming or not and left a voicemail. An hour later I called back to confirm that they received my cancellation and the receptionist gave a great big sigh and explained she hadn't checked the voicemails today. First I would like to say Bill was awesome. Came out on time, very knowledgeable and helpful. However, the receptionist at their office is a road block to communication, scheduling and answers at best. After Bill stopped by for a $150 consultation, I called back 4 days in a row trying to schedule them to come back out and do the actual job. The receptionist answered one of the four times and tried to field questions that she knew nothing about.
I simply asked to speak with Bill in order to get my answers. She got defensive and said that their work/parts were the best but couldn't explain the difference between parts and prices. Just bought a home with a koi fish pond in the backyard. Hired the Pondman to clean the pond as it looked like it needed it. Coco and Simon showed up at my home this morning promptly at 9am and worked all day until 5:30pm. They are friendly and very meticulous about their work. The pond looks fabulous! Thanks guys for all your hard work! If you need any kind of pond work call this company! They install new ponds, repair ponds and do maintenance. They are the best!

Not reliable, and breaks promises, period! No call backs when they fail to show up on scheduled days or we want to purchase additional services. Lady who answers phone really rude and does not respect promises and good customer service. They were fine in beginning but then they break promises made with Bill, the main man, and then claim they never made promises about scheduled service.
When he does come out Bill and team they are good but often misses appointments. If you want to risk your expensive investment in your Koi and pond, then go ahead and try your luck. We are easy to deal with and these guys really let us down. It is too bad, we liked Bill.

Our house has a pond and small waterfall that the previous owners installed. It's lovely, but it's in need of a clean-out and some rehab. We called Pondman to get an assessment and estimate, and scheduled an appointment with Bill for 0800 on a week day. Bill never showed up. I called their office number and left a message, only to hear back from Bill after noon, claiming he had an emergency that morning, wondering if I was available right then. Shtuff happens, so we gave him the benefit of the doubt, and got the pond assessed, then scheduled a service visit for another day.
That day was this morning; Bill was supposed to be here between 0800 and 0900 to start work. Given our experience last time, I called the office at 0845 to make sure things were still on track. The office got in contact with "their guy", and indicated he was still an hour away. Based on their complete inability to not only keep an appointment, but to communicate with us when they can't keep an appointment, we will not be doing any business with the Pondman.

We just had our regular pond turned into a pondless feature with waterfalls. We were extremely happy with the Pondman. We received a timly quote, the work was completed on-time and in a very neat, organized way and we are now enjoying our waterfalls without a pond. Looks beautiful and is now an efficient energy saver and looks better than when we had the five foot pond. Plus, no more cleaning out the pond every few months. Water sounds are excellent. The price was fair and the work far exceeding our expectations!

I had a small fry's pond when I move to my home and now Bill, the pondman, enlarged my pond and turned my backyard into a beautiful, relaxing absolutely breathtaking place for me to sit and my fish are loving their lives! Bill, the Pond Man took such good care of my need for fish and pond. The old previous pump broke down just the day I was moving into my newly acquired home, and I knew nothing about care of this. He came with an emergency aerator for the fish, and got me a pump ordered and on its way. He spot checked my pond in between and maintained care of my four koi while waiting. installation was efficient and done quickly, along with all instruction to me how to maintain, clean, and keep the system smooth. I felt totally taken care of with a job at hand that was all new to me. My fish and pond have been fine ever since.

This is the worst contractor ever. Seek someone else. I have a small pond that needed repainting. He did it and guaranteed his work. For the next few months my fish and lilys kept dieing. I thought it was the wrong pH balance in the pond or too much sun. I called him to investigate but he never returned my calls. I hired another company and they tested the paint.
They said the paint he used is toxic and is causing my fish and flowers to die. I have not been able to reach him at all. It has now been 5 months and the paint is peeling off. Now I realize why he wanted payment in check or cash. So that people can't do a charge back through their credit cards when they find out that he's a con artist.

Bill the Pondman is one of the most honest, experienced and professional pond contractors I know (I am a competitor). I enjoy bidding with him because he will be clean and above the board with no hidden or later revealed charges as some other contractors reveal. Not very responsive. Have had trouble with lights they installed and huge algae bloom after pond cleaning. No response or consistency on issue. Have called and say that they will respond in 24 hrs or scheduled a date but no show and have since left 3 messages and no response. Really had hope. Gonna look for another pond business with better customer service. Want my beautiful, clear, well lit pond back!
