Chesapeake Landscape & Design

I was excited to use a local landscaping company to help regrade part of our lawn last year. We had a small sinkhole toward the side of our front yard and contracted with Chesapeake to fill in the hole. They were very responsive and polite. We were told they would "throw" the dirt across the yard to minimize damage to the existing part of our lawn.

They were only able to throw the dirt the first day as a piece of rebar had been mixed in with the dirt and the company that they use for the machinery would not allow them to throw the second day. In addition to then scraping the dirt across our existing lawn, the dirt they provided was so low grade that it was full of rocks and gravel. The worker also scraped crush and run from a side driveway into our yard, dropping gravel everywhere.

I contacted the company and they did attempt to remove and repair some of the work. They told me it would settle and grow grass fine. We ended up shoveling gravel out of our yard and our yard still is patchy in the area a year later where they dropped a ton of stones. They might be great at taking care of your grass or laying a basic patio, but I would not recommend them for grading or providing fill dirt.

I am a very happy customer. I wish Brad took before and after photos. Chesapeake is my "go to" landscape service. I have used them for several issues and am extremely happy with their responsiveness and care of my yard. I highly recommend talking to Chesapeake for all you landscaping needs. I have received several positive comments on the work they just performed - it's unbelievable how much of a difference there is now.

It has been difficult to find a professional, responsive Landscaper. I am so happy that I located Chesapeake online. They arrived on time to give an estimate, made a video of what I wanted and scheduled a date that worked with my schedule. The Crew Leader was professional and knowledgeable, and I've made plans for Spring, with some new ideas from Brad. Easy to pay online, and the office stays in touch with reminders and to be sure you're happy with the service. Great work!

We had Chesapeake out to our property in May/June of this year. We have about 1/3 of an acre in Forest Hill, MD. The previous homeowner had installed random plants/trees throughout the yard which gave it no consistent look and made it very difficult to maintain weeding, edging, etc. We also had issues with flooding in the corner of the yard due to another neighbor having trees removed near our fence.

My wife and I had tried for a few years to fix our yard, but finally decided to call Chesapeake for help. We do not regret this decision. Justin Milio reviewed our yard and drew up a simple yet perfect redesign (new sod, trees, etc.), created ideas to fix draining, some minor hardscaping and then a maintenance plan for the yard going forward. Justin was responsive through the process and very helpful as we had numerous questions.

When the work started Mike came to our yard and performed the work. Mike was on time, consulted us throughout the day and made sure that the work met our expectations. Mike was a workhorse and I was shocked that he did all of this work with just one other worker. Match that with his communication skills and we couldn't have been happier. The job took about a week and afterwards we had new draining, new trees, new sod and arguably the nicest yard in the neighborhood. Chesapeake is a rare combination of great customer service and quality execution. We will be using Chesapeake going forward and have recommended to all of our neighbors. Highly recommended!

I write to thank Chesapeake Landscapes, particularly Justin, Luis and Cesar, for the wonderful work that they did in transforming our broken down, overgrown back area into an elegant patio in the middle of winter. I am enclosing some before after pictures. Inspired by Luis and Cesar's industry, my daughter did a painting of Luis, which I also include, but you will see that her painting, while nice, lacks the perfect proportions of Luis and Cesar's artwork. Chesapeake does high quality work in a timely fashion and is very responsive.

The patio work made the rest of our back yard look quite shabby and Chesapeake accommodated our request to landscape our garden as soon as they finished with the patio. We now have a beautiful view out our house and cant wait for the weather to turn warm, Naveeda

Chesapeake Landscapes planted several plants for me in Oct 2021. Five of the plants did not come back this spring. After a month of calling they finally came back and replaced two of the dead Black -eyed Susans. However, they did not notify me before coming and I was not home to talk to them. When I called Jim back about the other dead plants he told me that they weren't going to replace them because they were "technically" still alive. Here are pictures of the plants they say are alive. Very dissatisfied with their customer service. Would not recommend them.

If you guys need some landscaping/hardscaping. I HIGHLY recommend Chesapeake Landscapes. They did an unbelievable job on our patio. This was a huge job in cold weather. The crew was on time every day and worked straight until it got dark. They were kind and courteous. The result far exceeded my expectations and they will be our go to landscaping company from now on.

Thank you! They also did some brush removal at a reasonable price for us which has made a HUGE difference. We just moved to this property and it was neglected for a long time before we got it and with the help of Chesapeake, it's becoming our perfect slice of paradise!

They planted pines and pear trees on my property and will be back for mulching and maintenance. Always respectful, tidy, go the extra yard (pun intended), and take pride in their work. The plantings look perfect and include a guarantee, which provides peace of mind, when you are making a significant investment in landscaping. I will continue to refer my friends and family to Chesapeake and have already referred them to my law partner, Bob Scott, in Baltimore County.

His beds look perfect, and Chesapeake even performed some hardscaping/irrigation services, in addition to landscaping. Chesapeake's Joe is a professional and the company is lucky to have him!

Brad and his team did an excellent job! We needed a koi pond removed and asked that they make it look like it never existed. They delivered. They even left us quite a bit of grass seed to fill in any empty patches. As others have mentioned, they are responsive. We were going to hire another company but got fed up with their lack of communication. I'm glad we went with Chesapeake Landscapes! Definitely recommend!
