We contracted with Limbach's Landscaping in the Summer of 2019 for a 800sqft patio project because of their 30+ year reputation. We were aware of the change in ownership but undertood the original team was doing the physical work. I wish I did more research on the new owner. Pete was never clear about costs or process. He showed up with a truck of pavers before we committed to a style.
He brought on a landscape architect without giving her our budget so we paid for designs that we would never have gone with. He seemed to have another bigger project going on at the same time so would text us the mornings his team would come over to work. He was good about cashing our checks within 24 hours. It took 2 years to complete this project (starting June 2019 and ending June 2021).
We spent over $35k in 2019 and couldnt even buy outdoor furniture to enjoy our new patio during the 2020 lockdown because of the poor sanding job. The sand stayed soft and lead to uneven pavers that became a trip hazard in less than 1 year. We considering paying another team to fix the job but the $8k quote made us continue with Limbach (since this was in their 1-year warranty window).
By the time Limbach's crew came back to re-sand in June 2021, they had to re-level all the pavers and ended up cracking a few along the way. Now we have mismatched pavers in some areas. The new sand is sparse or completely missing between the perimeter pavers of our patio. The new sand they put down is only two weeks old yet I've reached out about a wobbly paver that they refuse to come back to fix.
This was part of their warranty so they didn't get paid and rushed through the job. I supposed they got it to an "acceptable" standard but I have a toddler who will injure himself on this "new" patio so will be going with another company to fix. I don't want to completely knock a small business but wouldn't recommend this team for custom hardscaping.
If you are in the bidding process and want to consider a couple teams, I suggest starting with yard clean up or possibly landscaping to see if you are comfortable with how Pete manages the business.

We have extensively used Limbach's Landscaping to do all things landscaping related from major projects (complete redesign and installation of complex hardscape and plant material) to more minor projects (patio re-sanding, mulching and transplanting). In each and every instance, THERE IS NONE BETTER THAN LIMBACH'S! Pete and his crew are unsurpassed in their attention to detail and communication. Pete does a spactacular job in listening to what the client wants to accomplish.
He is flexible, conscientious when it come to managing budgets and knowledgeable about all aspects of delivering a great finished product. After completing at least 8 projects with Pete and his crew post a major home renovation, I feel completely confident in saying a job done by Limbach's Landscaping will not disappoint.

Pete and the Limbach's team are the best major landscaping projects. First, Pete took significant time to understand our needs and how we use our yard, including considerations for entertaining, kids and our dog. Then he came with a great plan, adapted it to our specific requests and worked through multiple revisions without issue. He came up with a fantastic layout, great plant options and tree selection, and he called in other experts where needed (e.g., carpenter for deck adjustments, tree specialist).
He also followed up multiple times to make the small corrections necessary in any large landscaping project (e.g., sod and plant replacement, sprinkler adjustment). We have already started our second and third projects with Pete and will continue to work with the Limbach's team in the future.

Pete and the team at Limbach's are by far the best, most reliable, professional and fairly priced landscaping company in town. Don't waste your time trying out any other company. Over the past 6 years, I've tried just about every landscaper servicing my area. Ive been generally disappointed with the quality of work and pricing. Now i readily admit that I'm not the easiest homeowner to work with.
When it comes to my property, i am a perfectionist. I want to make sure that I'm getting my monies worth. From the first time i interacted with Pete, i had a good feeling that I've finally found the right contractor. Pete is knowledgeable, honest and just an all around great guy. Over the past couple of years I've used Limbach's for major projects on my property.
The result is absolutely outstanding. Pete was engaged throughout. He makes it a habit to drive by even weeks/months after the work has been completed. He didn't like the way a couple of the hydrangea plantings were coming in, so without me even having to ask, he replaced them and even threw in a few additional plantings for good measure. If i could rate them higher than 5 stars, i would. Limbach's will undoubtedly be my landscaping contractor of choice for the remainder of my years in Madison.

Well, if you're neighbor hires these folks to do landscaping make sure you're out on your property line protecting your trees and property. They totally destroyed the canopy on our side of our property by removing significant branches to open up the view from the property they were landscaping. We have no issue with them removing branches that actually cross the property, if they are cut at the property line.but these folks obviously bent that 'rule' significantly.
The owner of Limbach's says they did not trespass but 5 trees that are 6-10 feet from the property line have been significantly 'pruned'. They also removed about 15 bricks I had placed at the base of a plant to reduce erosion.still waiting for those bricks to be returned.

I'd give NEGATIVE stars, if possible! I scheduled an appointment with them last week to come meet me for a consultation last night. I left work early to be on time (5pm). By 5:20pm - no show, not even a courtesy of a phone call! I left my job early, & they cant even show up! I left by then to grab a bite - since I didnt even start dinner waiting for them. This is not a way to run a business!

I cannot say enough good things about them and I consider myself a picky person! They are totally worth the wait. George was the only one who came to give us an estimate that showed up with actual blueprint plans and everything itemized professionally. Even though it rained for weeks on end, his crew still showed during his estimated start window.
They worked 10+ hour days and worked hard when they were here. On the last day, after 12 hours in 100 degree temps, they were powerwashing my patio furniture and placed everything where we wanted it. Benny is amazing to work with. I found them through a recommendation of a friend and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Prices were the same or less and his design was amazing compared to what the others would have done. Love, love, love them!
