Greenway Lawn Aeration

Family owned and operated, A+ for me. The 2 owners (father and son) answered all of my questions and explained everything to a newbie like me with clarity. Their work foreman (Steve) was professional and meticulous. If I could give higher than 5 stars I would!

I don't usually give bad reviews but greenway was very poor with their service and was way overpriced. I hired Greenway for a side yard work. The job was to install two sets of steps with stones and install ground covers and optimize the existing irrigation at my home. There were two medium sized pine trees which I wanted removed. The quote they gave had over $2500 just to cut the two trees leaving the stumps behind.

I requested them to take that item off the request. I could have this done for less than $400 with another company. In hindsight I should have backed off and not allowed them to work on my yard at all. That was a clue to how overpriced they were. However, we decided to give them a chance. They finished the work fast, but had to redo the steps with stone because the steps started coming off within 2 days!

Initially they had this done by a subcontractor. Greenway redid it because it was that bad and unsafe to walk on. The rest of the work was mediocre at best, and way overpriced for what they did. I just want to share my experience so that others do not fall for the 30years of experience that this company boasts. I have to say that the owners and the workers were very professional and friendly throughout the project which earns them 3 stars.

Called last week to find an irrigation specialist to give me an estimate for repairs on a one acre yard. The receptionist was at best confusing through most of our conversation, but quickly said it was $100 just to evaluate but that it would be applied to work. I agreed thinking at bare minimum they could replace some sprinklers with that. Made an appt but waited all morning then finally called to find they had no reference of me.

They then stated they could put me back on the schedule for more than a week away instead of trying to work within my schedule since it was the error. Sorry to say from first call to last call customer service doesn't seem to apply here.

Is this company a scam? $100 to come out and give a quote? Never heard of this.ever. A $100 charge so they can then charge you for their services? Sorry, nope. Judging by the rest of these reviews they really need to reconsider their business model.

I had the guys from Greenway install artificial turf and a few putting greens in my backyard. Let me say it was a pleasure to work with them from the beginning to end. They were not the cheapest price I got but I feel you really get what you pay for. All the installers have years of experience which I could tell by the work. Alex is very professional.

He oversaw the project and he came up with ideas I never would have thought of. They also installed a Bocce ball court. So glad I made the decision to use Greenway. I haven't had to call them back on a single issue and the we use the yard almost every day now.

GREENWAY POWAY - DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME . Waited almost 3 weeks for my initial consultation on how to beautify my yards. Confirmed time night before as I would be gone for 2 hours on appt day. They never showed during "appt window" so I called at the window end. Claimed they came during 2 hours I was gone, which night before swore they wouldn't, and that they "performed a billable service (aeration?)".

Since my yards are behind locked gates and we hadn't agreed to any services yet, that is laughable. COMPANY IS POORLY RUN WITH TERRIBLE CUSTOMER COMMUNICATION. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!

Greenway completed a large backyard project for us which involved removing and replacing over 100 plants, irrigation system and mulch as well as repairs to our artificial turf. They also recommended someone to fix our existing pavers. Scott came out weeks in advance to ensure everything would go according to plan. Greenway's team was professional, on time, clean and flexible to changes that occurred throughout the project. Greenway's commitment and follow up to ensure our satisfaction was amazing.

The office, owner and employees are all professional and friendly. When questions arise, they make themselves available to work with you. Scott's quote is very detailed, and he offers advice based on his years of experience. Working with Greenway was a great experience with great results.

We are so very pleased and just absolutely love the way Greenway has transformed our front yard! What was once a dirt pile is now a bit of an oasis :- No issues whatsoever, everyone was super courteous and honest, and the workers were FAST: entire job completed within one day. I contacted the company because I wanted someone who could make sure my irrigation was running properly. I had a previous leak and a couple other things and I just wanted to know I wasn't going to be dealing with any other issues. The company came out found an issue fixed it and I guess just made sure the rest of system wasn't leaking and would basically come on and off.

So I had some peace of mind until I went to turn the sprinklers on and the technician forgot to turn the main water line on. I had to wait 3 more days for him to come back and turn it on. Then about 3 weeks later I had sprinklers that wouldn't shut off come to find out parts from a different valve we worn (I had expressed concern overthrew valve but I guess when the guy was here he didn't check it).

It ended up leaking and and the ring on the inside was so old that I had to shut the water off and have them come out again. This sounds simple however I was originally told it was going to be a month until they could come out. After being talked down to by the owner and basically telling me I didn't request a full inspection and they were trying to save me money that the guy only fixed the main problem.

However the only reason I called was because I wanted someone to go through the entire system and check it all out. I was also told that they could come one day and something major could happen the next and just trying to get them to come out I was on the phone for almost 2 hours then he walked me through and there was nothing he could tell me to do that was working so I shut it off and then he came out and fixed it.

For something that was already diagnosed and on the phone I was told I would be responsible for the parts now the owner is trying to put a lien and listed more parts on the lien than the actual bill along with labor. If I knew this was what I was going to deal with I would have never agreed to have him fix it I would have paid my Gardner to swap out the part.

Greenway helped us convert our backyard from a mostly unusable space to one with great possibilities. They gave us options to keep things within budget, as well as great communication amongst the subcontractors. Unexpected challenges were met with a can-do attitude and the follow-up was great. When we are ready for the next phase of our project, we will certainly be using them again.

Had a great experience today with Greenway. I have used them in the past and blamed them for some issues that happened after their service. it was not them but another issue with grubs that I found out later. Today I had a great young man come out named Angel and he did the job quickly and correct. He did a great job of asking questions and making sure that there would be no issues with the sprinkler system. Aside from a mistake in the quote, which was not the technicians issue, I would highly recommend this company and I will continue to use them a couple times a year.

They did our yard and it was perfection. I saw a neighbor’s lawn who got a cheaper company and it was visibly cheaper. The artificial turf and landscaping they did made our backyard livable again. I highly recommend their work!

Booked an estimate visit from them and they flaked out completely. Person on the phone said (more than once), "things are always changing so fast here." Lots of very good reviews and lots of very bad reviews here. Take your pick.

We have used Greenway for years. They do an excellent and thorough job. They cleanup after they are done. They arrived on the day scheduled and was done in a timely manner.

At least annually I have Greenway aerate my lawn; the work is always on-time, efficient and professional. Often I just allow access to the backyard and mail a check in, cost is very reasonable. Aerating once or twice a year helps my lawn thrive. You can request an application of fertilizer at the same time if needed for a modest additional fee.

I had Greenway come out for a quote on our backed up irrigation drainage problem last week. I agreed to have them come to do the "Discovery" work to assess the potential cost. Yes there is a fee to do that as it usually takes them 4 hours to do a thorough discovery assessment. Well they came out and unfortunately couldn't completely do the full assessment due to major blockage.

I was at work and assumed it took them the full 4 hours. Well as it turned out it only took 2 hours since they couldn't do any more work and that is all they charged me for! A dishonest company would have charged me for the full 4 hours and I wouldn't have thought twice to pay it. So thank you Greenway as honesty and integrity are critical for your business success!

When I got home from work however after they were gone I noticed the side faucet that they used to pump water into the line was leaking water in our back patio. I called Greenway immediately and they were able to send one of their guys back out and within minutes they replaced the leaking knob for FREE as in no charge! That is what I call standing behind your work!

I would, and I WILL be referring everyone I know to Greenway as like a good honest Mechanic it is important to have a good and honest landscaping company to do business with! Thank you Greenway Lawn Aeration. You are the Best!

I live in Sorrento Mesa and my lawn was looking pretty spotty. I talked with Mary at Greenway and scheduled an aeration and fertilizer treatment. In less than a week, my lawn is greening up and looking great. I have used Greenway for a number of years, and they are always on time, do a great job, and are reasonably priced. I recommend them.

I call to get a quote and the receptionist said they charge a $100 consult fee to come out, but they put they fee towards a $500 project. Ridiculous.

Greenway Lawn Aeration did a wonderful job restoring our back yard. Alex Lawn, owner, evaluated our lawn, prepared a plan and his crew executed the plan perfectly. We have been happy customers for years.

Greenway performed a complete lawn aeration for me yesterday and I was extremely pleased with the result. They were friendly, quick and efficient while doing the best job of anyone I've hired before. I will use them from now on.

I wish there was the option of leaving zero stars. Uncommunicative company. Lack of customer service by the owner and the supervisor that was on our job. They do not talk to the homeowner about what they are doing. They claim that they have had people show up and do a service that absolutely did not. When the owner makes arrangements with is to go over concerns he does not show up and never calls to explain. I would never recommend this company to service another home. Once they get their money they evidently decide that's the end of it.

I will reiterate what almost every other negative review has said about their ability to return phone calls, show up when promised, and provide a reasonable response. However, I will add my own $.02 about their quality of work. After they supposedly "fixed" the problem to the tune of over $1300, I am left with a disaster of a yard.

The lady on the phone could not answer a single questions about their pricing or anything about lawns for that matter and told me it would be a 100 dollars for a lawn consultation. I'm not looking for a consultation, I wanted you guys to do the job! I have to pay for someone to come out and give me an estimate, which other landscaping/gardening companies are doing for free. No thanks.

This company broke three sprinkler heads in our yard, so we sent payment in with a letter to explain what happened. No response. A couple months later, they sales called us, and again we explained to them what happened. The response? "So, I guess you won't use us again." NOPE! Why did I send payment when they broke them? I own a business, and that's how we operate. Hope? Respect?

Customer service is paramount for me? I actually thought it was not a big deal to remedy. I was wrong. (Yelp really needs to implement the zero star policy.) Too bad this is the only company in town who aerates lawns, so next time, to the rental yard. Do it yourself!

Alex and his team have gone out of their way to help fix my yard. They show up when they say they will and do the job right. They have fix some major wiring issues I had from animal damage and found two leaks that I couldn't find. They fixed those as well. I have entrusted them to do all the maitenence work as needed. Pleasure to work with. They have a very clean presentation and dress professionally as well.

Thank you for all you have done. Having been in the high end customer service line of work in the past (on Rodeo Drive) I look for and only work with companies that can give me the customer service at the level I except. I recommend Greenway and I'm not sure why there are negative reviews. Maybe they are competitors who are threatened by Greenways quality work. Thank you Alex!
