With more than 45 years of experience, Reno Green Landscaping believes the key to efficiency is starting the day off right and that begins with our morning routine. Early every morning, our crews begin their day at the yard, located across the street from our office. After a quick meeting with our operations and field managers, the procession of trucks begins as maintenance and construction crews go to their first stops of the day.
Reno Green Landscaping began in 1975 by Dave Harvey with a focus on commercial maintenance in the Reno and Tahoe areas. During this time, construction in Reno wasn't a priority, and Mr. Harvey knew if he could perfect the maintenance side of landscaping, he would always have work. Reno Green and Moana Nursery were the biggest names in the landscaping business at the time.
Scott Owen and his wife Carrie have owned Reno Green Landscaping since 2004. With a background in business logistics, Scott knows how a quality business should run and seeks to maintain integrity and ingenuity in every aspect of the business. Under Scott's management, Reno Green Landscaping has become the leader in commercial maintenance and the largest installing contractor in Northern Nevada. In his free time, Scott enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, golfing, hiking and mountain biking.
Reno Green Landscaping has been a part of the northern Nevada and California community for more than 45 years. What started as a small operation offering landscaping maintenance services has since grown into one of the largest full-service landscape providers in the region. As such, we have always felt a strong sense of responsibility to give back to the supportive community that helped us get to where we are today. In celebration of 40 "green" years, we donated and planted 40 trees throughout our community at the end of 2015.

This company maintains the grounds where I live. As we approach June and they have not gone thru the irrigation system. They turned it on, programmed some controllers and left. Some areas are not working at all, turf dying, trees and shrubs stressed and dying. Other areas that have been on since they turned on the system with flooding and it's starting to stink. Reno Green has been notified of these issues but they do nothing. Sprinklers are not adjusted, they spray into the bushes or not at all. Many zones don't come on. It's sad to see the property dying and really sad that this company cannot even do the most basic steps in irrigation management.

Disappointed. We tend to believe "you get what you pay for" but in this case that old adage was not true. The business had professional brochures and great lip service, but the actual service did not live up to promises. Over and over again we had to reach out to Reno Green (phone calls, emails, sending pictures, etc.) to get them to fulfill contractual agreement.
It was a lot of work on our part. Company seems to be employee heavy, with numerous mid-level people who need paychecks but have little to do with having your yard maintained. In the end it was not the company for us and we're glad to be finished with our contract with Reno Green.

Engaged Reno Green for bid to develop a residential 3000sf back yard. Submitted architectural designs on July 7th and received two-page proposal for 125k on July 30th. No breakdown of materials or project application (hardscape, softscape, pergola, outdoor kitchen) was provided, just a flat number with inclusions/exclusions and basic warranty info.
We requested a meeting to discuss the matter further, and during that Aug 31st meeting we asked to change some plantings and requested a detailed cost breakdown of plantings and materials. It's now October 13th and we have yet to receive anything after following up with Reno Green on September 29th. **edit** The owner followed up with us on October 14th to inform us "your budget is still around $140,000" and provided no further information on material selection or cost drivers.
It's 2021 and regardless of labor/material challenges, people expect to know what their money is being spent on and what they are contractually required to receive before dropping six figures on any kind of project.

I waited 6 weeks for David to come out to survey our yard to be draw up some landscaping designs. My husband and called him at least 5 times over the course of 4 weeks after the visit to see what the progress was with no response. Finally, he responded with an email telling us that he wouldn't be able to do our backyard. He couldn't even have the decency to call us. Terrible service!

This lawn company services our complex Shoreline Plaza apartments on Dickerson Road. I called Truckee Meadows water authority to complain that they ignore the odd/even water days and over water the ground to the point its soggy all day. In turn they complained to our maintenance crew. I was then threatened with eviction. Also they run their riding mowers at top speed running over everything in their path. Shredded garbage litters the way. Absolutely no people skills are demonstrated!

When you see all those yellow trucks around town and crews working, you might think that Reno Green strictly focuses on commercial properties. The Reno Green team has been working on my property for the past 5 years doing both maintenance and construction projects. They are quite responsive to my needs and do a great job.

I have had the enormous pleasure of working with Reno Green since 2005 and they have done outstanding work - consistently. They continually go above and beyond our contractural and personal landscape needs. From the owners, Scott and Carrie, to their general manager, Ryan Harvey (she is the best, by the way) to all of their amazing staff - they will help you anytime.
I can call Mark Thompson - irrigation expert- and he will meet me onsite almost immediately with ideas or fixes. Their crews are friendly and they strive to do a great job consistently and on time. On the rare times when we needed to resolve issues, Reno Green has been superbly responsive and thoroughly professional. I have no qualms or hesitation in recommending Reno Green to any business or residential customer. They are the BEST!

Sadly my experience with Reno Green was very disappointing. I had used them on a previous project but something has changed. I hired them to add irrigation to my property. First issue was they designed my system without even reviewing it with me. Just assumed they knew best. I should have taken that sign and stopped. The crew arrived and I felt it necessary to make sure they knew where a new power line had been placed because their lead failed to have 311 mark my property before working or even request that I do it.
I reviewed where a new line was and it appeared to be very obvious. Hours later my power abruptly goes off and a knock on the door reveals that they drove the ditch witch over the power lines and completely pulled them off both ends. I was very nice and felt that it would be repaired, which all though they offered, I insisted that the electrician, who had just installed them, do the work.
They agreed to remove that cost from my invoice. Second issue is that while attaching to my well, strangely the ditch started filling up with water (mind you water was not rapidly coming from that area before). After taking their sweet time to send someone out a week later, all the while the water pressure is shot and a big pit of water is accumulating, they dig their work back out and tell me that it was previously broken. Really?
So now I have a plumber come out and spend another $1K (out of my pocket because they insisted they didn't create the issue) to fix the well line that for some coincidental reason started leaking at the same time they were attaching to it. Ridiculous. So now I have power lines repaired, plumbing lines repaired and start planting my upper portion of the property.
The 4 front sections aren't turning on. I am not an idiot, I know how to set up a timer BUT after my call to report that these stations are not working, I am mansplained about having someone come "show me" how it works. Thank you very much. Again, one week later, plants are pretty much dying at this point. Hand watering every day. So the guy comes out and messes with the timer while showing me how it works.
He couldn't get it working either. Wow, fascinating. Maybe it's "not working". 4 hours later after digging up the wires they find that they cleanly cut their own power lines while installing water lines. Repair done by them. Repair placed right in our access road so we have to somehow avoid driving over it. So, now finally after all this craziness.
I am a very patient person. Everything is turning on and I notice that they have replaced some of the drip irrigation lines but not all of the irrigation lines. So were they supposed to do it, or not. I don't know because the entire thing was never reviewed with me. So now I have this poorly done irrigation system. No stub out work for where I had communicated a future lawn area (which will again requiring digging in places that were already dug out) and stations that do not provide enough pressure to water the areas I need to water. I bet you're exhausted from reading this, I was exhausted from all the poorly done work. Obviously wouldn't recommend.

I rarely provide reviews of vendors as I genuinely believe those who conduct business should understand the terms of any contract, service, good etc. to be delivered as should the consumer be well aware of price levels and realistic expectations from the vendor. That said I've used RG for 3 major residential projects at two different houses, everything worked out great and service was what I expected at the price agreed upon. That's not the purpose of my post.
Yesterday I reached out to Carrie (owner) with some relatively immaterial, but infuriating, irrigation and clock issues for my sprinkler system. Within hours I had a scheduled appointment with their top guy (mark) who solved and repaired the problems the next day. These guys are legit, locally owned, reasonably priced, and have my business for the foreseeable future. Dealing with landscape or other trade businesses can be a nightmare- not RG, thanks again.

Reno Green misrepresents the truth to make a buck. I live in one of the properties they manage through my HOA. They had a surplus of "waste wood". This material is filled with plastic waste: coke bottles, cigarette packs, fabrics, plastic bags, etc. the first time they talked our HOA board into the material they made absolutely no mention of trash, just that this same material costs money (another statement not based in truth) and we got a deal.
What we got was trash in a protected wet land we boarder. The second time, when they delivered the product and I saw mounds of waste wood AND trash, trash so prolific you did not have to disturb the pile of material to see it, they said oh no, there's only a little bit of trash, we will clean it up and although it looks "worrisome" (exact word) it would be cleaned up.
They spread the material throughout our property into the wetland, there is trash everywhere. It will take many volunteer man hours to clean it up and we will not get all of it. Reno Green is a company without an ethical standard. I do not recommend them on any large job or small.

It is difficult to find anyone in Reno right now who will do landscaping, and not charge you a ridiculous amount, and put you on a waiting list. Reno Green quoted us about ten percent higher than the other local companies, however, they sold me on how it would be a faster turn around and higher quality sprinklers, material, and work. Basically, all lies.
The turn around time was running over 4 months behind to finish the work after I paid deposit. Then they didn't finish it, and wanted me to pay the rest. They laid the rock so thin you could see the weed block, I called them to fix this. Currently, I have had 4 malfunctions on the sprinkler equipment that they installed, one of these required an emergency plumber to shut the water off to the property at the street.
Every time something happens, Reno Green plays this game about how I obviously must not know what I am talking about. and they give me the run around until I can finally get someone out here. Then, low and behold, I am right. AVOID THIS COMPANY!

Landscaping foreman Gerardo and his crew from Reno Green Landscaping did an absolutely outstanding job on my small backyard project. The team set to work after RGL's landscape architect, William Burns, designed a beautiful and functional backyard retreat for me and my husband. Gerardo and his crew were professional, polite and listened to and satisfied any concern or question I had throughout the process. I've had nothing but rave reviews from anyone who has seen the backyard. I highly recommend Reno Green Landscaping for anyone's landscaping project. I consider every dollar spent as money well spent on this project.

Reno Green is just finishing up the landscape in my front yard. The company did an absolutely fabulous job. It was so much than I ever imagined. Will did an amazing job on the design, a true professional. Marlon the team leader was always here making sure that everything was going as planned. The three men Armando, Vicente and Extir who came and worked tirelessly everyday where exceptional. I was truly happy with the entire Reno Green experience. I would highly recommend them.

HORRIBLE. I live in a very large upscale condo community. Our HOA has recently hired this company to replace the older landscaping company. What a mistake that has been. Reno Green Landscaping are lazy! they cut the grass with machines that are for golf courses and leave ALL the grass trimmings in the grass and around the side walks. Days later when and if they do come back for clean up they blow the leaves all over our vehicles not taking any regard for pebbles or rocks that hit the cars.
I have personally seen them do this. We need our old company back. This is a gigantic property and you would think they would want to do a great job to keep the contract. If this is their first impression after just being hired than I would say never again. I put my complaint in with the HOA and hopefully I will see a difference soon. Boo Reno Green Landscaping. Wouldn't hire this company for any work.
