Western Garden Nursery was founded in 1961 by Charles Grimshaw and Ron Marciel. It was originally located on Hesperian Boulevard in Hayward. The sharp business minds of Charles and Ron quickly established Western Garden as a bay area leader in innovative merchandising of shrubs, trees, bedding plants and landscape supplies.
Hear ye, hear ye. The California Rare Fruit Growers Association does hereby proclaim 2014, "The Year of the Quince." Ah, but don't confuse this quince with the "flowering quince." Although beautiful, it's not edible. However, the heralded quince is both edible and beautiful! However, after an introduction to Delosperma, you'll know it as the real-deal.
Western Garden Nursery carries a great selection of garden gifts and accents from GiftCraft, Grassland Road, Regal and other great manufactures. We now stock honey from Gerard'z Honeybees. You will find local Pleasanton and Livermore along with orange blossom, avocado, clover, black sage and star thistle varieties.
Western Garden Nursery has the largest selection of fountains in the area. Stop by the nursery and consult with one of our landscape consultants about selection, placement and installation. Create a peaceful, relaxing environment with the sound of water. A. Silvestri Co. is a manufacturer of architectural grade, decorative pre-cast concrete statuary, fountains, planters and garden art.

Really lovely nursery (although the prices are a bit higher than neighboring nurseries). I love the variety of plants. Their cockatiel, Lou, is also adorable. I picked up some milkweed recently and asked someone there if they used pesticides (or the growers used pesticides) on the milkweed. She seemed a bit offended that I asked that or acted like it was a stupid question.
I've had experiences in the past with nurseries using pesticides on milkweed (killing the caterpillars in my yard), so I don't think it was a dumb question at all and meant no offense. I just would have appreciated a nicer response. I'm just looking out for the Monarchs in my garden. Other than that, it is a nice nursery. I just wish the prices were a bit more affordable and that the customer service was a bit nicer.

Wonderful little nursery! Visited this place a lot with my toddler, she loves running between the trees and looking at the plants. Staff is friendly but not pushy, so if you need help speak up. I personally love this because I like to look without someone getting up in my space. I'm a horticulturist and let me tell you, the plants here are healthy and well loved.
There is also a great variety of perennials! I wish they sold 4" pots of annuals instead of only providing 4-6 packs because I like to make container gardens and don't need that much. It's a little pricer buying 6 packs than a 4" at other nurseries but that's just a personal preference. This place is an absolute gem.
